BACKGROUND Mucosal healing has become an important goal of Crohn’s disease(CD)treat-ments.Modulen,enriched with transforming growth factor-beta 2,and budeso-nide are commonly accepted treatments for mild-moderate CD....BACKGROUND Mucosal healing has become an important goal of Crohn’s disease(CD)treat-ments.Modulen,enriched with transforming growth factor-beta 2,and budeso-nide are commonly accepted treatments for mild-moderate CD.However,their effects on the small bowel(SB)mucosa remain underexplored.AIM To prospectively assess clinical and mucosal responses to Modulen vs budesonide in adults with CD,using SB capsule endoscopy.METHODS Thirty patients were divided into two groups:Modulen+home-based diet(21 patients)and budesonide(9 patients)for an eight-week intervention followed by four weeks of follow-up.Clinical,laboratory,and endoscopic responses were evaluated.The mucosal changes were assessed through SB capsule endoscopy.RESULTS Results indicated significant clinical improvement in the Modulen group with reduced CD activity index(P=0.041)and improved inflammatory bowel disease questionnaire score(P=0.016).Moreover,Modulen was associated with a signifi-cant SB mucosal improvement,evidenced by a decrease in Lewis score(P=0.027).No significant changes were observed in calprotectin or other laboratory parame-ters.Conversely,budesonide exhibited more modest clinical effects,but it improved calprotectin,hemoglobin,and C-reactive protein levels(P=0.051,P=0.014,and P=0.038,respectively).The capsule endoscopy did not reveal a significant mucosal response in the budesonide group.CONCLUSION Both interventions have a role in CD treatment.Yet,their effects differ and may complement each other:Modulen yields clinical and mucosal improvements,while budesonide primarily leads mainly to laboratory improvements.展开更多

The seismic damage to ancillary facilities on high-speed railway(HSR)bridges can affect the normal movement of trains.To propose the bridge deck acceleration response spectra of the typical HSR simply-supported girder...The seismic damage to ancillary facilities on high-speed railway(HSR)bridges can affect the normal movement of trains.To propose the bridge deck acceleration response spectra of the typical HSR simply-supported girder bridge for simplifying the seismic responses analysis of the facilities on bridges,the finite element models of the HSR multi-span simply-supported girder bridges with CRTSII track were established,and the numerical model was validated by tests.Besides,the effects of the span number,peak ground acceleration(PGA),pier height on the seismic acceleration and response spectra of the bridge deck were investigated.Afterward,the bridge acceleration amplification factor curves and bridge deck response spectra with different PGAs and pier heights were obtained.The formula for bridge deck acceleration amplification factor,with a 95%guarantee rate,was fitted.Moreover,the finite element models of the overhead contact lines(OCL)mounted on rigid base and bridges were established to validate the fitted formula.The results indicated that the maximum seismic acceleration response is in the midspan of the beam.The proposed formula for the bridge deck acceleration response spectra can be used to analyze the earthquake response of the OCL and other ancillary facilities on HSR simply-supported girder bridges.The bridge deck acceleration response spectra are conservative in terms of structural safety and can significantly improving the analysis efficiency.展开更多

With Galerkin weighted residual method the corresponding nonlinear dynamic penalty finite element equation, in which the dependencies of volume fraction and permeation coefficients an deformation are included, is obtained. The iteration solution method of the nonlinear system equation is also discussed. As a numerical example, the dynamic response of a porous medium column under impulsive loading action is analyzed with the developed finite element program. While the concept...Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the voluntary commitment taken over by companies in social, economic, and environmental terms. The aim is to counteract impacts generated by their activity. While the concept is genuinely linked to the private sector, this self-regulated system has been steadily introduced in some European public service media. Indeed, CSR is one of the mechanisms to face the challenges of the sector, both the financial crisis and the lack of trust. Seven public service media from the European Union are reporting--via their websites--on their CSR strategies. Annual reports on their performance are issued by the German ZDF, the Spanish RTVE, the Portuguese RTP, the British BBC, the Irish RTI~, the Finnish YLE, and the Italian RAI. Also, four other corporations--VRT and RTBF from Belgium, FT from France, and DR from Denmark include a section on corporate social responsibility on their annual reports. The aim of this paper is to know which of the trends in CSR are dominant among public service media in Europe, namely economy, environment, and society. Considering reservoir reference pressure and coupling drag of two fluids in pores, the effects of frequency, porosity, and gas saturation on the phase velocities of the P-and S-waves are discussed in detail under field conditions. The effects of porosity and gas saturation on Vp/Vs are also provided. The data for our numerical experiments are from a sample of deep volcanic rock from Daqing. The numerical results show that the frequency dispersion effect can be ignored for deep volcanic rocks with low porosity and low permeability. It is concluded that for deep volcanic rocks the effect of gas content in pores on Vp/Vs is negligible but the effect of porosity is significant when there is a certain amount of water contained in the pores. The accurate estimate of lithology and porosity in this case is relatively more important.展开更多

Background Chronic otitis media(COM) is a significant clinical problem.Understanding the mechanisms of COM is critical for its control and treatment.However,little is known of the processes leading to COM as a result ...Background Chronic otitis media(COM) is a significant clinical problem.Understanding the mechanisms of COM is critical for its control and treatment.However,little is known of the processes leading to COM as a result of lack of animal models of N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea(ENU) induced mutations in otitis media with effusion(OME).Methods Otoscopy and auditory brain response(ABR) evaluation were carried out under sedation in Nmf391nmf/nmf mice of 2,4,6 and 8 months of age.The mice were killed for study of middle and inner ear pathology.Results Tympanic membrane visualization and ABR thresholds in 1-to 8-month-old Nmf391nmf/nmf mice showed spontaneous OME and inner ear diseases in approximately 100% of the animals.The significant elevation of ABR thresholds suggested a sensorineural component in hearing loss in addition to the conductive loss.Middle and inner ear histology showed various degrees of outer hair cells loss and middle ear inflammation in all the mice,but no inflammation cells in the inner ear.The ABR threshold at 32 kHz was significantly elevated.Conclusions This study shows histopathologic changes in the Nmf391nmf/nmf mouse model of COM with effusion that have not been reported in human COM.This ENU induced mutation model of COM will be valuable for the characterization of middle ear inflammation and inner ear disease processes that are induced by middle ear infections.We propose that COM with effusion in this ENU induced mutation model is the cause of the cochlea hair cells damage.展开更多

In a fractured porous hydrocarbon reservoir,wave velocities and refections depend on frequency and incident angle.A proper description of the frequency dependence of amplitude variations with ofset(AVO)signatures shou...In a fractured porous hydrocarbon reservoir,wave velocities and refections depend on frequency and incident angle.A proper description of the frequency dependence of amplitude variations with ofset(AVO)signatures should allow efects of fracture inflls and attenuation and dispersion of fractured media.The novelty of this study lies in the introduction of an improved approach for the investigation of incident-angle and frequency variations-associated refection responses.The improved AVO modeling method,using a frequency-domain propagator matrix method,is feasible to accurately consider velocity dispersion predicted from frequency-dependent elasticities from a rock physics modeling.And hence,the method is suitable for use in the case of an anisotropic medium with aligned fractures.Additionally,the proposed modeling approach allows the combined contributions of layer thickness,interbedded structure,impedance contrast and interferences to frequency-dependent refection coefcients and,hence,yielding seismograms of a layered model with a dispersive and attenuative reservoir.Our numerical results show bulk modulus of fracture fuid signifcantly afects anisotropic attenuation,hence causing frequencydependent refection abnormalities.These implications indicate the study of amplitude versus angle and frequency(AVAF)variations provides insights for better interpretation of refection anomalies and hydrocarbon identifcation in a layered reservoir with vertical transverse isotropy(VTI)dispersive media.展开更多

The application of this method to modeling the China's adjacent seas shows that the Bohai Sea has a highest peak response frequency (PRF) of 1.52 d^-1; the northern Yellow Sea has a PRF of 1.69 d^-1; the Gyeonggi Bay has a high amplitude gain plateau in the frequency band roughly from 1.7 to 2.7 d^-1; the Yellow Sea (includ- ing the Gyeonggi Bay), the East China Sea shelf and the Taiwan Strait have a common high amplitude gain band with frequencies around 1.76 to 1.78 d^-1 and are shown to be a system that responds to the open ocean forcing in favor of amplifying the waves with frequencies in this band; the Beibu Gulf, the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea deep basin have PRFs of 0.91, 1.01 and 0.98 d^-1 respectively. In addition, the East China Sea has a Poincare mode PRF of 3.91 d^-1. The PRFs of the Bohal Sea, the northern Yellow Sea, the Bei- bu Gulf and the South China Sea can be explained by a classical quarter (half for the Bohai Sea) wavelength resonance theory. The results show that further investigations are needed for the response dynamics of the Yellow Sea-East China Sea-Taiwan Strait system, the East China Sea Poincare mode, the Talwan Strait, and the Gulf of Thailand.展开更多

文摘In a fractured porous hydrocarbon reservoir,wave velocities and refections depend on frequency and incident angle.A proper description of the frequency dependence of amplitude variations with ofset(AVO)signatures should allow efects of fracture inflls and attenuation and dispersion of fractured media.The novelty of this study lies in the introduction of an improved approach for the investigation of incident-angle and frequency variations-associated refection responses.The improved AVO modeling method,using a frequency-domain propagator matrix method,is feasible to accurately consider velocity dispersion predicted from frequency-dependent elasticities from a rock physics modeling.And hence,the method is suitable for use in the case of an anisotropic medium with aligned fractures.Additionally,the proposed modeling approach allows the combined contributions of layer thickness,interbedded structure,impedance contrast and interferences to frequency-dependent refection coefcients and,hence,yielding seismograms of a layered model with a dispersive and attenuative reservoir.Our numerical results show bulk modulus of fracture fuid signifcantly afects anisotropic attenuation,hence causing frequencydependent refection abnormalities.These implications indicate the study of amplitude versus angle and frequency(AVAF)variations provides insights for better interpretation of refection anomalies and hydrocarbon identifcation in a layered reservoir with vertical transverse isotropy(VTI)dispersive media.

文摘A numerical method is designed to examine the response properties of real sea areas to open ocean forcing. The application of this method to modeling the China's adjacent seas shows that the Bohai Sea has a highest peak response frequency (PRF) of 1.52 d^-1; the northern Yellow Sea has a PRF of 1.69 d^-1; the Gyeonggi Bay has a high amplitude gain plateau in the frequency band roughly from 1.7 to 2.7 d^-1; the Yellow Sea (includ- ing the Gyeonggi Bay), the East China Sea shelf and the Taiwan Strait have a common high amplitude gain band with frequencies around 1.76 to 1.78 d^-1 and are shown to be a system that responds to the open ocean forcing in favor of amplifying the waves with frequencies in this band; the Beibu Gulf, the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea deep basin have PRFs of 0.91, 1.01 and 0.98 d^-1 respectively. In addition, the East China Sea has a Poincare mode PRF of 3.91 d^-1. The PRFs of the Bohal Sea, the northern Yellow Sea, the Bei- bu Gulf and the South China Sea can be explained by a classical quarter (half for the Bohai Sea) wavelength resonance theory. The results show that further investigations are needed for the response dynamics of the Yellow Sea-East China Sea-Taiwan Strait system, the East China Sea Poincare mode, the Talwan Strait, and the Gulf of Thailand.
