Regularity of Wind-dispelling Medication Prescribed by LI Dong-Yuan:A Data Mining Technology-based Study

Objective To extract and analyze information on the regularity with which wind-dispelling medication was prescribed by LI Dong-Yuan and many doctors of his school of thought and to provide theoretical basis and ideas for modern clinical application to facilitate the use,research,and development of these medications.Methods Original data on wind-dispelling medication described in LI Dong-Yuan’s works were collected,sorted and organized.Data mining and comprehensive analysis were performed by using a series of data processing softwares,such as SPSS 22.0,Modeler 18.0 and x Miner.By reviewing LI Dong-Yuan’s writings on wind-dispelling medication,the number of prescriptions for wind-dispelling medication were counted.Frequency of use of wind-dispelling medication was determined,and association rules analysis,factor analysis,and core drug network analysis were used to reveal associations of the symptoms of syndromes and treatment with wind-dispelling medication and to reveal the regularity with which these medications were prescribed by LI Dong-Yuan.Results A total of 356 prescriptions and 121 flavors of winddispelling medication were observed.Among them,five kinds of medicinal properties,seven kinds of medicinal tastes,and 12 kinds of meridians were identified.Furthermore,herbs were divided into 18 categories according to their efficacy.Statistical analysis showed that there were 23 wind-dispelling medications that were prescribed with a frequency of≥60.The mainly used drugs were Saposhnikoviae Radix(Fang Feng,防风),Bupleuri Radix(Chai Hu,柴胡),Cimicifugae Rhizoma(Sheng Ma,升麻),Notopterygii Rhizoma Et Radix(Qiang Huo,羌活),Puerariae Lobatae Radix(Ge Gen,葛根),Chuanxiong Rhizoma(Chuan Xiong,川芎),and Ephedrae Herba(Ma Huang,麻黄).In addition,we analyzed the association rules wind-dispelling medication and obtained 23 one-to-one drug association rules and 11 multiple-to-one drug association rules.The core drug network analysis data visualization showed core drugs used in the treatment of external wind assailing the exterior(wind-cold,wind-heat,wind-dampness,etc.),wind-stroke,and tonifying middle and replenishing Qi.Factor analysis was performed on the drugs used by LI Dong-Yuan,and finally 4 groups of wind medicine combinations were obtained.Conclusions This data mining-based study on the regularity of wind-dispelling medication described in LI Dong-Yuan’s works is of great significance,because it reveals the clinical application of its theoretical formulae and medications.

Study on medication regularity of traditional Chinese medicine cases in treatment of neoplastic fever based on data mining

Objective:To analyze the medication regularity of traditional Chinese medicine cases in treatment of neoplastic fever in order to guide clinical medication.Methods:The database of China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Vip database and WanFang medical network were searched.The cases involving traditional Chinese medicine prescription in the treatment of neoplastic fever were screened.After extracting the prescriptions and Chinese medicines,make statistics according to frequency analysis,cluster analysis and association analysis.Results:79 literatures were included which involving 123 decoctions.221 traditionalChinese medicines were included in the statistics,the most frequently used traditional Chinese medicines were Gancao,Chaihu,Huangqi and Shengdihuang.The proportion of heat-clearing drugs in Chinese medicines was the largest(23.98%).The most common property of the Chinese medicines is cold property,accounting for 51.13%.The higher frequencies of flavors of the Chinese medicines are bitter,sweet and acrid,the sum of which is 84.66%.The most common meridian of Chinese medicines is liver meridian,accounting for 19.82%.The cluster analysis and association analysis of high frequency Chinese medicines showed that high frequency Chinese medicines could form three clustering formulas,and could get 18 pairs of high frequency drug combinations.Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicines for heat-clearing,deficiencytonifying,phlegm-resolving,blood stasis-dispeling are mostly used to the treatment of neoplastic fever.The results of cluster analysis and association analysis of high frequency traditional Chinese medicines can provide certain reference and guidance for clinical medication.

Medication Rule Analysis of the Diagnosis and Treatment Programs of Chinese Medicine for the Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19 in China

Objectives:To summarize the measures and rules of Chinese medicine(CM)and provide reference for clinical application in the prevention and treatment of coronavirus disease(COVID-19).Methods:The data source was from CM COVID-19 prevention and treatment programs on government websites and official media websites of the different provinces and cities.The search lasted from December 8,2019 to March 10,2020.Main variables were medication frequency and combinations of medicines.Cluster analysis and complex network analysis were used by prevention and treatment stage and by area.Results:Among 27 CM diagnosis and treatment plans,203 therapeutic prescriptions were enrolled,of which the top 4 herbs were:Radix glycyrrhizae,Semen armeniacae amarum,Herba ephedrae,and Herba agastachis,respectively.The core combinations were Herba ephedrae and Semen armeniacae amarum.Forty-eight preventive formulae were identified.Ten herbs,including Radix Astragali seu hedysari,Radix glycyrrhizae,Radix saposhnikoviae,Flos lonicerae,etc.were most frequently used.The core prescription of CM compatibility was Radix astragali seu hedysari,Radix glycyrrhizae,and Radix saposhnikoviae,which is the main component of Yu Ping Feng San.There were 45 prevention and treatment prescriptions in East China;the most used CM was Radix glycyrrhizae,Herba agastachis,Pericarpium citri reticulatae,and Gypsum fibrosum.Fifty prescriptions were identified in North China.According to CM analyses,Herba agastachis,Semen armeniacae amarum,Herba ephedrae,and Poria were most frequently used.Conclusions:CM for COVID-19 prevention mainly focuses on improving human immunity;for treatment,prescription focuses on clearing the lungs and removing dampness.Prescriptions vary with regions,perhaps due to climatic and environmental differences,which help clinicians to quickly make CM plans and treat patients according to clinical status,further minimizing resource wastage.

Research on Medication Regularity of Traditional Chinese Medicine Based on Hyperuricemia Patents

Objective To study the medication regularity of Chinese herbal medicines based on hyperuricemia patents. Methods Access database was established to summarzie the patents regarding hyperuricemia disclosured by State Intellectual Property Office（SIPO） of the People＇s Republic of China in 1986-2015. Statistically analysis was performed by Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System（TCMISS）. Results The literatures of Chinese herbal medicines treating hyperuricemia were 1223, and 138 papers were included by excluding and screening, and contain 282 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine. Conclusion By analyzing the frequency, efficacy, flavor, channel tropism,and composition of the herbs used, we recognize that the efficacy of herbs in curing hyperuricemia is mostly clearing heat and promoting diuresis, invigorating the circulation of blood, dispersing stasis, alleviating water retention, and reinforcing deficiency concurrently. Flavors are mostly sweet, bitter, and cold. Channel tropism is mainly to liver, spleen, stomach, lung, and kidney. It provides the medication consideration for clinical treatment of hyperuricemia.
