A compound oscillatory roller reducer(CORR)with a first-stage gear transmission and a second-stage oscillatory roller transmission is presented. The transmission principle of oscillatory roller transmission is introduced, and the tooth profile equation of the inner gear is derived. The analytical model of mesh force considering the installation errors and manufacturing errors is proposed. Then, parametric studies considering different errors on the mesh force are conducted. Results show that the design parameters are significant factors for mesh force. The mesh force is reduced by 17%as the eccentricity of disk cam increases from 2.5 mm to 4 mm.When the radius of the movable roller increases from 7 mm to 20 mm,the mesh force decreases by 8%.As the radius of disk cam increases from 125 mm to 170 mm,the mesh force is decreased by 26.5%.For the impacts of errors, the mesh force has a noticeable fluctuation when these errors exist including the manufacturing error of disk cam,the installation error of disk cam and the manufacturing error of movable roller change. The prototype of the reducer is manufactured and preliminary run-in test proved the feasibility of the transmission principle. 展开更多

An exact-designed mesh shape with favorable surface accuracy is of practical significance to the performance of large cable-network antenna reflectors. In this study, a novel design approach that could guide the generation of exact spatial parabolic mesh configurations of such reflector was proposed. By incorporating the traditional force density method with the standard finite element method, this proposed approach had taken the deformation effects of flexible ring truss supports into consideration, and searched for the desired mesh shapes that can satisfy the requirement that all the free nodes are exactly located on the objective paraboloid. Compared with the conventional design method,a remarkable improvement of surface accuracy in the obtained mesh shapes had been demonstrated by numerical examples. The present work would provide a helpful technical reference for the mesh shape design of such cable-network antenna reflector in engineering practice. 展开更多

The multitooth meshing state of harmonic drive (HD) is an important basic characteristic of its high transformation precision and high bearing capacity. Meshing force distribution affects the load sharing of the tooth during meshing, and theoretical research remains insufficient at present. To calculate the spatial distributed meshing forces and loading backlashes along the axial direction, an iterative algorithm and finite element model (FEM) is proposed to investigate the meshing state under varied transmission loading. The displacement formulae of meshing point under tangential force are derived according to the torsion of the flexspline cylinder and the bending of the tooth. Based on the relationship of meshing forces and circumferential displacements, meshing forces and loading backlashes in three cross-sections are calculated with the algorithm under gradually increased rotation angles of circular spline, and the results are compared with FEM. Owing to the taper deformation of the cup-shaped flexspline, the smallest initial backlash and the earliest meshing point appear in the front cross-section far from the cup bottom, and then the teeth in the middle cross-section of the tooth rim enter the meshing and carry most of the loading. Theoretical and numerical research show that the flexibility is quite different for varied meshing points and tangential force amplitude because of the change of contact status between the flexspline and the wave generator. The meshing forces and torsional stiffness of the HD are nonlinear with the torsional angle. 展开更多
