The experimental data acquired on Windows,QNX and Linux platforms are processed by the middleware and sent to the monitoring applications.There are three middleware deployment models:serial processing,parallel processing and alternate serial processing.By using these models,the middleware solves real-time data-processing problems on heterogeneous environmental acquisition hardware with different operating systems and data applications.展开更多

Transferring layer in traditional user datagram protocol is implemented by publishing and subscribing scheme of message middleware. By creating message model to standardize message structure,integration architecture is formulated to resolve potential information security risks from inconsistent data type and express data transmission. Meanwhile,a communication model is put forward based on AMQP,which is in the center position of the whole transmission framework and responsible for reliably transferring battlefield data among subsystems. Experiments show that the method can accurately post amounts of data to the subscriber without error and loss,and can get excellent real-time performance of data exchange.展开更多

Vendor lock-in can occur at any layer of the cloud stack-Infrastructure,Platform,and Software-as-a-service.This paper covers the vendor lock-in issue at Platform as a Service(PaaS)level where applications can be creat...Vendor lock-in can occur at any layer of the cloud stack-Infrastructure,Platform,and Software-as-a-service.This paper covers the vendor lock-in issue at Platform as a Service(PaaS)level where applications can be created,deployed,and managed without worrying about the underlying infrastructure.These applications and their persisted data on one PaaS provider are not easy to port to another provider.To overcome this issue,we propose a middleware to abstract and make the database services as cloud-agnostic.The middleware supports several SQL and NoSQL data stores that can be hosted and ported among disparate PaaS providers.It facilitates the developers with data portability and data migration among relational and NoSQL-based cloud databases.NoSQL databases are fundamental to endure Big Data applications as they support the handling of an enormous volume of highly variable data while assuring fault tolerance,availability,and scalability.The implementation of the middleware depicts that using it alleviates the efforts of rewriting the application code while changing the backend database system.A working protocol of a migration tool has been developed using this middleware to facilitate the migration of the database(move existing data from a database on one cloud to a new database even on a different cloud).Although the middleware adds some overhead compared to the native code for the cloud services being used,the experimental evaluation on Twitter(a Big Data application)data set,proves this overhead is negligible.展开更多

The newly born international specification SOAP brings a new solution to ERP because of its simplicity and high extensibility. This paper analyses the techniques to extend basic SOAP to implement ERP system. The techniques, including data envelope, dynamically and loosely coupled remote process calling (RPC), support to the multiple communication protocol, and security and performance improvement, greatly enhance the ability of basic SOAP and make it capable to accomplish the integration task in large scale ERP systems. In order to reduce the effort in the integration and actualization of heterogeneous healthcare legacy systems that should share a common database, we propose the creation of an interoperability bus using the HL7 stand...In order to reduce the effort in the integration and actualization of heterogeneous healthcare legacy systems that should share a common database, we propose the creation of an interoperability bus using the HL7 standard—the HL7Middleware. This interoperability bus is an intermediate layer responsible for the communication between a database, health information systems and medical equipment, called HL7Server. Connected systems use the HL7 messaging semantics to store and retrieve data from the database. We validate our approach with respect to two different criteria: performance and integration costs. Benchmark tests were executed with and without the use of HL7Middleware and with different network bandwidths. These results demonstrated that the performance of the interoperability bus is higher when compared to traditional database access for larger volumes of data and when the bandwidth of the user is considerably lower than the bandwidth of the connection between HL7Server and database. The overall development and deployment cost was considered low and the reusability degree of wrapper code was considered high, thus suggesting a progressive reduction of the integration costs of additional services and subsystems of an organization.展开更多

Devices within the network only need to interact with the middleware, instead of directly communicate with each other by various protocols and interfaces, which can reduce the complexity and diversity of the heterogeneous network. This article describes the structure and features of the middleware, and analyses the use of “buffer pool” in message sending and receiving process. This paper introduces an architecture of distributed systems that facilitates the implementation of a substantial range of dependable system properties, i.e., properties that span an entire system, or a set of compone...This paper introduces an architecture of distributed systems that facilitates the implementation of a substantial range of dependable system properties, i.e., properties that span an entire system, or a set of components dispersed throughout it. This architecture, called GDS, for governed distributed system, governs the system by controlling the flow of messages between its actors, independently of the internals of the interacting actors. This governance is done via an enforced collection of interaction laws organized into a modular and conflict free hierarchical ensemble. This ensemble of laws is sensitive to the history of interaction;and it is enforced in a decentralized manner, and is thus scalable. The dependable system properties that can be implemented under GDS can have the following beneficial consequences, among others: a) the ability to establish regularities over the system, rendering it more coherent, and easier to reason about;b) the ability to provide a degree of trust among the disparate actor of the system;and c) the ability to ensure compliance with interaction protocols that are essential for distributed computing. Consequently, the GDS architecture can have a significant impact on the following important system qualities: security, fault tolerance, auditability, and manageability.展开更多

So its application system should be flexibly adaptable to dynamic changes of context and application requirements and proactively provides the information satisfied with current context for users. The middleware can be very effective to provide the support runtime services for context-aware computing. In this paper we propose middleware architecture for context processing. This architecture is based on fuzzy logic control (FLC) system for context reasoning and sensor fusion. We propose a formal context representation model in which a user’s context is described by a set of roles and relations correspond to a context space. A middleware prototype has been developed, which detect tourist’ physical context and provide reminding. The experiments prove that the model and approach proposed are feasible.展开更多

Because the power system of BEPB, either the capacity of peak load, or the quantity of substations under monitoring and number of subsidiary control centers in hierarchical structure, is the largest district power system in China, in view of this situation and the significance of capital power supply, the comprehensive dispatch automation system with high reliability was planned, the integrated EMS/DMS SD6000E with multi-screen video graphic systems has been developed. This project was planned from December of 1992, started on April 30,1996, and will be completed by the end of 1998.This project is the largest EMS/DMS project in China up to now.The overview of this project, including the comprehensive requirement of EMS/DMS from BEPB, the hardware configuration design of EMS master station, the software design of SD-6000E, the integrated multi-screen video graphic systems with EMS/DMS is described in this paper. This kind of capability could be well ex-ploited by Peer-To-Peer (P2P) systems, Internet-wide as long as private ones, like in Public Safety or Civil Protection Communication Systems;but Pub/Sub specifications, and DDS/RTPS (Real Time Publish Sub-scribe) as well, usually do not provide Authentication & Authorization (AA) mechanisms. In the present work two important novelties are assessed: a possible scheme to implement AA in DDS/RTPS networks and a time performance evaluation study about embedded Authentication in RTPS.
文摘This paper introduces an architecture of distributed systems that facilitates the implementation of a substantial range of dependable system properties, i.e., properties that span an entire system, or a set of components dispersed throughout it. This architecture, called GDS, for governed distributed system, governs the system by controlling the flow of messages between its actors, independently of the internals of the interacting actors. This governance is done via an enforced collection of interaction laws organized into a modular and conflict free hierarchical ensemble. This ensemble of laws is sensitive to the history of interaction;and it is enforced in a decentralized manner, and is thus scalable. The dependable system properties that can be implemented under GDS can have the following beneficial consequences, among others: a) the ability to establish regularities over the system, rendering it more coherent, and easier to reason about;b) the ability to provide a degree of trust among the disparate actor of the system;and c) the ability to ensure compliance with interaction protocols that are essential for distributed computing. Consequently, the GDS architecture can have a significant impact on the following important system qualities: security, fault tolerance, auditability, and manageability.

文摘The research of context-aware computing based on wireless sensor network (WSN) aims at intelligently connecting computers, users, and environment. So its application system should be flexibly adaptable to dynamic changes of context and application requirements and proactively provides the information satisfied with current context for users. The middleware can be very effective to provide the support runtime services for context-aware computing. In this paper we propose middleware architecture for context processing. This architecture is based on fuzzy logic control (FLC) system for context reasoning and sensor fusion. We propose a formal context representation model in which a user’s context is described by a set of roles and relations correspond to a context space. A middleware prototype has been developed, which detect tourist’ physical context and provide reminding. The experiments prove that the model and approach proposed are feasible.
文摘In line with the developing trend in the 90’s [1] and the requirements of the power dispatching center of BEPB(Bejing Electric Power Bureau),the open and distributed EMS/DMS SD-6000E is developed as the master station of BEPB project. Because the power system of BEPB, either the capacity of peak load, or the quantity of substations under monitoring and number of subsidiary control centers in hierarchical structure, is the largest district power system in China, in view of this situation and the significance of capital power supply, the comprehensive dispatch automation system with high reliability was planned, the integrated EMS/DMS SD6000E with multi-screen video graphic systems has been developed. This project was planned from December of 1992, started on April 30,1996, and will be completed by the end of 1998.This project is the largest EMS/DMS project in China up to now.The overview of this project, including the comprehensive requirement of EMS/DMS from BEPB, the hardware configuration design of EMS master station, the software design of SD-6000E, the integrated multi-screen video graphic systems with EMS/DMS is described in this paper. The implementation of this project is briefly described as well.
