Based on the single valley cha...A minimum distortion direction prediction-based novel fast half-pixel motion vector search algorithm is proposed, which can reduce considerably the computation load of half-pixel search. Based on the single valley characteristic of half-pixel error matching function inside search grid, the minimum distortion direction is predicted with the help of comparative results of sum of absolute difference(SAD) values of four integer-pixel points around integer-pixel motion vector. The experimental results reveal that, to all kinds of video sequences, the proposed algorithm can obtain almost the same video quality as that of the half-pixel full search algorithm with a decrease of computation cost by more than 66%.展开更多

However, it is an open ...The utilization of traffic information received from intelligent vehicle highway systems(IVHS) to plan velocity and split output power for multi-source vehicles is currently a research hotspot. However, it is an open issue to plan vehicle velocity and distribute output power between different supply units simultaneously due to the strongly coupling characteristic of the velocity planning and the power distribution. To address this issue, a flexible predictive power-split control strategy based on IVHS is proposed for electric vehicles(EVs) equipped with battery-supercapacitor system(BSS). Unlike hierarchical strategies to plan vehicle velocity and distribute output power separately, a monolayer model predictive control(MPC) method is employed to optimize them online at the same time. Firstly, a flexible velocity planning strategy is designed based on the signal phase and time(SPAT) information received from IVHS and then the Pontryagin’s minimum principle(PMP) is adopted to formulate the optimal control problem of the BSS. Then, the flexible velocity planning strategy and the optimal control problem of BSS are embedded into an MPC framework, which is online solved using the shooting method in a fashion of receding horizon. Simulation results verify that the proposed strategy achieves a superior performance compared with the hierarchical strategy in terms of transportation efficiency, battery capacity loss, energy consumption and computation time.展开更多
To determine the studying region of China Testing Center of the Collaboratory for the Study of Earthquake Predictability (CSEP), we adopted the Entire-Magnitude-Range (EMR) method to study the spatial distribution...To determine the studying region of China Testing Center of the Collaboratory for the Study of Earthquake Predictability (CSEP), we adopted the Entire-Magnitude-Range (EMR) method to study the spatial distribution of minimum magnitude of completeness (Mc) in the North-South Trending Seismic Belt (NSTSB) during the period from October 1, 2008 to May 31, 2011. Also bootstrap testing was performed to estimate the uncertainty of Mc, i. e. 8Mc. The results show that Mc (EMR) = 1.6 ± 0. 03 for the whole region. From the spatial distributions of Mc we find that Mc is in the range of Mu 1.3 ±2.0 for most regions. Specifically, the spatial distribution of Mc is consistent with the distribution of stations indicating high monitoring level in the southern part and low monitoring level in the northern part. Events located with less than three stations have great influence on Me. Moreover, the uncertainty of minimum magnitude of completeness 6Mc ranges from 0. 07 to 0.22. The spatial distribution of 6Mc agrees with the seismic rate. The shorter time span may cause larger 6Mc展开更多

The current highly competitive environment has driven industries to operate with increasingly restricted profit margins. Thus, it is imperative to optimize production processes. Faced with this scenario, multivariable...The current highly competitive environment has driven industries to operate with increasingly restricted profit margins. Thus, it is imperative to optimize production processes. Faced with this scenario, multivariable predictive control of processes has been presented as a powerful alternative to achieve these goals. Moreover, the rationale for implementation of advanced control and subsequent analysis of its post-match performance also focus on the benefits that this tool brings to the plant. It is therefore essential to establish a methodology for analysis, based on clear and measurable criteria. Currently, there are different methodologies available in the market to assist with such analysis. These tools can have a quantitative or qualitative focus. The aim of this study is to evaluate three of the best current main performance assessment technologies: Minimum Variance Control-Harris Index; Statistical Process Control (Cp and Cpk); and the Qin and Yu Index. These indexes were studied for an alumina plant controlled by three MPC (model predictive control) algorithms (GPC (generalized predictive control), RMPCT (robust multivariable predictive control technology) and ESSMPC (extended state space model predictive controller)) with different results.展开更多

Moreover,the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method are verified through experiments. The experimental results demonstrate that the maximum error between the real trajectory and the predicted trajectory of the minimum sensing cell measurement method is 0.64 m,which can achieve infrared target perception and moving trajectory prediction.展开更多
