Based on the statistical analysis of the bus transit travel time, six indices including the coefficient of variance, the width of travel time distribution, the mean commercial speed, the congestion frequency, the planning time index and the buffer time index are proposed. Moreover, a framework for evaluating bus transit travel time reliability is constructed. Finally, a case study on a certain bus route in Suzhou is conducted. Results show that the proposed evaluation index system is simple and intuitive, and it can effectively reflect the efficiency and stability of bus operations. And a distinguishing feature of bus transit travel time reliability is the temporal pattern. It varies across different time periods.展开更多

The client computer can convert the analog signal about the safety in production and environmental parameters detected from the monitoring terminal into digital signal,and then,send the signal to the coal mine safety monitoring centre. This information can be analyzed,judged,and diagnosed by the monitoring-management-controlling software for helping the manager and technical workers to control the actual underground production and security situations. Our investigation focuses on a hybrid quantum system including coupled flux qubits and a nitrogen–vacancy center ensemble. In our scheme, the transmission and storage(retrieval) of quantum state are performed in two separated steps, which can be controlled by adjusting the coupling strength between the computing unit and the quantum memory. The scheme can be used not only to reduce the time of quantum state transmission, but also to increase the robustness of the system with respect to detuning caused by magnetic noises. In comparison with the previous memory scheme, about 80% of the transmission time is saved. Moreover, it is exemplified that in our scheme the fidelity could achieve 0.99 even when there exists detuning, while the one in the previous scheme is 0.75.展开更多

Bus arrival time prediction contributes to the quality improvement of public transport services.Passengers can arrange departure time effectively if they know the accurate bus arrival time in advance.We proposed a mac...Bus arrival time prediction contributes to the quality improvement of public transport services.Passengers can arrange departure time effectively if they know the accurate bus arrival time in advance.We proposed a machine⁃learning approach,RTSI⁃ResNet,to forecast the bus arrival time at target stations.The residual neural network framework was employed to model the bus route temporal⁃spatial information.It was found that the bus travel time on a segment between two stations not only had correlation with the preceding buses,but also had common change trends with nearby downstream/upstream segments.Two features about bus travel time and headway were extracted from bus route including target section in both forward and reverse directions to constitute the route temporal⁃spatial information,which reflects the road traffic conditions comprehensively.Experiments on the bus trajectory data of route No.10 in Shenzhen public transport system demonstrated that the proposed RTSI⁃ResNet outperformed other well⁃known methods(e.g.,RNN/LSTM,SVM).Specifically,the advantage was more significant when the distance between bus and the target station was farther.展开更多

Nowadays, as people switch to a mobile lifestyle, they s...Public buses play an important role in public transportation in most parts of the world and it is still the dominant public transportation mode in some regions. Nowadays, as people switch to a mobile lifestyle, they spend significant amount of time on the traveling to work, back and forth. However, not much research has been done on how to provide some on-board service for those commuters in the public bus. This paper presents a Bluetooth-based system which is inexpensive, yet flexible, and scalable to serve commuters in a personalized manner using Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. However, from the Bluetooth specification, one Bluetooth dongle can connect to at most seven other Bluetooth devices. As we expect more than 7 users to use the services provided in the Bluetooth-based system (a full double-deck bus can carry around 100 passengers), we need to work out an effective scheduler to schedule all the private services on the Bluetooth servers in the bus. This paper also describes a scheduling algorithm that exploits the park mode feature of the Bluetooth specification to allow more users to have access to the Bluetooth services on the bus.展开更多
The aim of the paper is to evaluate the impacts of bus lane on bus travel time reliability.The data used are the Geographic Positioning System(GPS) data of two bus lines running parallel streets in Shenzhen,China,one ...The aim of the paper is to evaluate the impacts of bus lane on bus travel time reliability.The data used are the Geographic Positioning System(GPS) data of two bus lines running parallel streets in Shenzhen,China,one of which is a bus lane and the other is a regular lane.Two linear regression models are developed to evaluate the influence of bus lane which has a separated right of way.Other factors including running direction,day of week,time of day,dwell time,and delay at the start point are also considered in the model.Without published time tables,coefficient of variance(CV) of travel time is employed to explore the impacts of bus lane.The results indicate that bus lane can save 22.0% of travel time,reduce 11.5% of the CV of travel time,and decrease the variance of headway by 17.4%.The analysis on bus travel time reliability could help operators and drivers improve the quality of transit service.It also sheds light on how to assess the effectiveness of bus lane for transit planners and service operators.展开更多

With the widespread use of information technologies such as IoT and big data in the transportation business,traditional passenger transportation has begun to transition and upgrade into intelligent transportation,prov...With the widespread use of information technologies such as IoT and big data in the transportation business,traditional passenger transportation has begun to transition and upgrade into intelligent transportation,providing passengers with a better riding experience.Giving precise bus arrival times is a critical link in achieving urban intelligent transportation.As a result,a mixed model-based bus arrival time prediction model(RHMX)was suggested in this work,which could dynamically forecast bus arrival time based on the input data.First,two sub-models were created:bus station stopping time prediction and interstation running time prediction.The former predicted the stopping time of a running bus at each downstream station in an iterative manner,while the latter projected its running time on each downstream road segment(stations as the break points).Using the two models,a group of time series data on interstation running time and bus station stopping time may be predicted.Following that,the time series data from the two sub-models was fused using long short-term memory(LSTM)to generate an approximate bus arrival time.Finally,using Kalman filtering,the LSTM prediction results were dynamically updated in order to eliminate the influence of aberrant data on the anticipated value and obtain a more precise bus arrival time.The experimental findings showed that the suggested model's accuracy and stability were both improved by 35%and 17%,respectively,over AutoNavi and Baidu.展开更多

Bus reliability has long attracted attention and been extensively studied to enhance service quality.However,existing research generally evaluates bus reliability of specific routes or stops.To this end,this study exp...Bus reliability has long attracted attention and been extensively studied to enhance service quality.However,existing research generally evaluates bus reliability of specific routes or stops.To this end,this study explores en-route bus reliability with real-time data at network scale.Drawing on data of bus automatic vehicle location and smart card usage in Ningbo,China,this study calculates headway-based reliability with the difference between actual and scheduled headway at each stop.To demonstrate the trend of stop-level reliability along a bus route,reliability is graded and visualized on a map with ridership at each stop,which is then weighted with passenger-boarding volume.Route-level reliability is then quantified and mapped,where unreliable service basically concentrates in or extends through the centre area.With respect to network-level reliability,temporal changes are demonstrated with ridership on weekdays and at the weekend.It is observed that on weekdays,the reliability trend is similar to that of ridership,implying a causal relationship between bus travel-time variation and bus waiting-time at stops.Furthermore,a reliability comparison between weekdays in December and October shows the necessity of evaluating periodically and around important events to avoid negative riding experiences that discourage public transport usage.This research provides insights for bus agencies to systematically evaluate service reliability both spatially and temporarily,in order to identify and prioritize the routes and stops where the scope for reliability improvement and the expected benefit are greatest.展开更多

The hardware design and controlling flow of each module are introduced in detail. The sampling rate can reach 64 Msps and system transfers speed can be up to 128 Mb/s by using time interleaving, which increases the overall sampling speed of a system by operating two data converters in parallel.展开更多

文摘Accessibility is a representative indicator for evaluating the supply of bus system.Traditional studies have evaluated the accessibility from different aspects.Considering the interaction among land use,bus timetable arrangement and individual factors,a more holistic accessibility measurement is proposed to combine static and dynamic characteristics from multisource traffic data.The rationale of the proposed model is verified by a case study of bus system in Shenzhen,China,which is carried out to find the spatial and temporal discrepancy of service of bus system.It is found that the adjustment of bus schedule to time-varying travel demand can affect accessibility of bus system and that Land-use development,average bus speed and bus facilities all have positive effects on accessibility of bus system.These findings provide sig-nificant reference for transport planning and policy-making.The proposed model is not limited to accessibility measuring of bus system,but also applicable to other travel modes.
文摘Bus reliability has long attracted attention and been extensively studied to enhance service quality.However,existing research generally evaluates bus reliability of specific routes or stops.To this end,this study explores en-route bus reliability with real-time data at network scale.Drawing on data of bus automatic vehicle location and smart card usage in Ningbo,China,this study calculates headway-based reliability with the difference between actual and scheduled headway at each stop.To demonstrate the trend of stop-level reliability along a bus route,reliability is graded and visualized on a map with ridership at each stop,which is then weighted with passenger-boarding volume.Route-level reliability is then quantified and mapped,where unreliable service basically concentrates in or extends through the centre area.With respect to network-level reliability,temporal changes are demonstrated with ridership on weekdays and at the weekend.It is observed that on weekdays,the reliability trend is similar to that of ridership,implying a causal relationship between bus travel-time variation and bus waiting-time at stops.Furthermore,a reliability comparison between weekdays in December and October shows the necessity of evaluating periodically and around important events to avoid negative riding experiences that discourage public transport usage.This research provides insights for bus agencies to systematically evaluate service reliability both spatially and temporarily,in order to identify and prioritize the routes and stops where the scope for reliability improvement and the expected benefit are greatest.
文摘As new technologies emerge data centers and servers have established themselves as one of the largest and fastest growing consumers of power.While switched capacitor converter topologies have some very attractive features,namely low reliance on magnetic components and high efficiency,several critical factors have prevented their adoption in high current data center applications.The family of converters proposed are novel intermediate bus converter that demonstrates the highest performance yet achieved for 48 V to 12 V conversion with up to 2.5 kW/in^(3) power density,higher than 99% peak efficiency,and 97.2% full load efficiency for 12 V/70 A output.The reduction of voltage stress across the MOSFETs as well as extremely low reliance on magnetics are the key driving factors behind this high efficiency and power density,and are achieved without a sensitive resonant design or the usage of complex control technique.

文摘The electromagnetic radiation will result in informa- tion leakage being recovered when computers work. This article presents a high-speed real-time data acquisition system based on peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus and field programmable gate array (FPGA) for sampling electromagnetic radiation caused by video signal. The hardware design and controlling flow of each module are introduced in detail. The sampling rate can reach 64 Msps and system transfers speed can be up to 128 Mb/s by using time interleaving, which increases the overall sampling speed of a system by operating two data converters in parallel.
