A fast control power supply excites active feedback coils, which produces a magnetic field to control the plasma's displacement. With the development of EAST, new demands on the new fast control power supply have led to an enhanced ability of fast response and output current, as well as a new control mode. The structure of cascaded and paralleled H-bridges can meet the demand of extended capacity, and digital control can reMize current and voltage mixed control mode. By combining the α/γ interface migration and the carbon diffusion at the interface in Fe-C alloys, a mathematical model is constructed to describe the mixed-control mechanism for proeutectoid ferrite formation from ...By combining the α/γ interface migration and the carbon diffusion at the interface in Fe-C alloys, a mathematical model is constructed to describe the mixed-control mechanism for proeutectoid ferrite formation from austenite. In this model, the α/γ interface is treated as non-equilibrium interface, i.e., the carbon concentration of austenite at γ/α interface is obtained through theoretical calculation, instead of that assumed as the local equilibrium concentration. For isothermal precipitation of ferrite in Fe-C alloys, the calculated results show that the rate of interface migration decreases monotonically during the whole process, while the rate of carbon diffusion from γ/α interface into austenite increases to a peak value and then decreases. The process of ferrite growth may be considered as composed of three stages: the period of rapid growth, slow growth and finishing stage. The results also show that the carbon concentration of austenite at γ/α interface could not reach the thermodynamic equilibrium value even at the last stage of ferrite growth.展开更多

It is also shown that the controllable FWM process is dominantly influenced by the evolution of atomic population difference and two-photon coherence. EVs (electric vehicles) have been widely accepted as a promising solution for reducing oil consumption, air pollution and greenhouse gas emission. The number of EVs is growing very fast over the years. However, the ...EVs (electric vehicles) have been widely accepted as a promising solution for reducing oil consumption, air pollution and greenhouse gas emission. The number of EVs is growing very fast over the years. However, the high adoption of EVs will impose a burden on the power system, especially for neighborhood level network. In this paper, we propose a mixed control framework for EV charging scheduling to mitigate its impact on the power network. A metric for modeling customer's satisfaction is also proposed to compare the user satisfaction for different algorithms. The impacts of the proposed algorithms on EV charging cost, EV penetration and peak power reduction are evaluated with real data for a neighborhood level network. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.展开更多

In this paper, a non-fragile linear feedback control strategy with multiplicative controller gain uncertainties is proposed for realizing the mixed-synchronization of Chua's circuits connected in a drive-response configuration. In particular, in the mixed-synchronization regime, different state variables of the response system can evolve into complete synchronization, anti-synchronization and even amplitude death simultaneously with the drive variables for an appropriate choice of scaling matrix. Using Lyapunov stability theory, we derive some sufficient criteria for achieving global mixed-synchronization. It is shown that the desired non-fragile state feedback controller can be constructed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical simulations are also provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.展开更多

The bipolar interlayer is a mixture of p-type diphenyl (l0-phenyl-lOH-spiro [acridine-9,9'-fluoren]-3Lyl) phosphine oxide and n-type 2',2- (1,3,5-benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-l-H-benzimidazole). The electroluminance and Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE1931) coordinates' characteristics can be modulated easily by adjusting the ratio of the hole- predominated material to the electron-predominated material in the interlayer. The hybrid WOLED with a p-type:n-type ratio of 1:3 shows a maximum current efficiency and power efficiency of 61.1 ed/A and 55.8 lm/W, respectively, with warm white CIE coordinates of (0.34, 0.43). The excellent efficiency and adaptive CIE coordi- nates are attributed to the mixed interlayer with improved charge carrier balance, optimized exciton distribution, and enhanced harvesting of singlet and triplet excitons.展开更多

It is designed t...This paper proposes an efficient method for designing accurate structure-specified mixed H2/H∞ optimal controllers for systems with uncertainties and disturbance using particle swarm (PSO) algorithm. It is designed to find a suitable controller that minimizes the performance index of error signal subject to an unequal constraint on the norm of the closed-loop system. Although the mixed H2/H∞ for the output feedback approach control is considered as a robust and optimal control technique, the design process normally comes up with a complex and non-convex optimization problem, which is difficult to solve by the conventional optimization methods. The PSO can efficiently solve design problems of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) optimal control systems, which is very suitable for practical engineering designs. It is used to search for parameters of a structure-specified controller, which satisfies mixed performance index. The simulation and experimental results show high feasibility, robustness and practical value compared with the conventional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and proportional-Integral (PI) controller, and the proposed algorithm is also more efficient compared with the genetic algorithm (GA).展开更多

A sufficient condition for the existence of such control law is given in terms of a set of matrix inequalities by the introduction of inescapable set and *-norm. When these matrix inequalities are feasible, an explicit expression of the desired state feedback control law is given. In this study...Controlled Diffusion Solidification(CDS) is a promising process relied on mixing two liquid alloys of precisely controlled chemistry and temperature in order to produce a predetermined alloy composition. In this study, the CDS was employed to prepare hypereutectic Al-20%Si(mass fraction) alloy using Al-30%Si and pure Al of different temperatures. The mixing rate was controlled using three small crucibles with a hole of different diameters in their bottom. The effect of mixing rate and temperature on the microstructure of the primary Si-phase during the mixing of molten Al and Al-30%Si was studied. The results showed that when the diameter of the small crucible bottom hole is 16 mm, a higher mass mixing rate 0.217 kg·s-1 would results in a lower stream velocity 0.414 m·s-1. Conversely a lower mass mixing rate 0.114 kg·s-1(the diameter of the small crucible bottom hole is 8 mm) would result in a higher fluid stream velocity 0.879 m·s-1. A lower mass mixing rate would be better to refine the primary Si than a higher mass mixing rate. Meanwhile, the morphology and distribution of primary Si could also be improved. Especially, when Al-30%Si alloy at 820 °C was mixed with pure Al at 670 °C in the case of a mass mixing rate of 0.114 kg·s-1 and a pouring temperature of 680 °C, the average size of the primary Si phase would be only 18.2 μm. Its morphology would mostly be octahedral and the primary Si would distribute uniformly in the matrix microstructure. The lower mass mixing rate(0.114 kg·s-1) will enhance the broken tendency of Al-30%Si steam and the mixing agitation of resultant melt, so the primary Si phase can be better refined.展开更多

In this paper, we propose a method based on mixed sensitivity H∞ for the control of linear time invariant(LTI) systems with varying time delays. The time delay is assumed bounded and the upper bound is known. In the technique we propose, the delay affecting the plant to be controlled is treated as an unmodeled uncertainty(in form of multiplicative uncertainty). That uncertainty is approximated and then an H∞based controller, for the plant represented by the multiplicative uncertainty and the nominal model, is calculated. The obtained H∞controller is used to control the LTI systems with varying time delays. Simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多
The control problems associated with vehicle height adjustment of electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) still pose theoretical challenges for researchers, which manifest themselves in the publications on t...The control problems associated with vehicle height adjustment of electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) still pose theoretical challenges for researchers, which manifest themselves in the publications on this subject over the last years. This paper deals with modeling and control of a vehicle height adjustment system for ECAS, which is an example of a hybrid dynamical system due to the coexistence and coupling of continuous variables and discrete events. A mixed logical dynamical (MLD) modeling approach is chosen for capturing enough details of the vehicle height adjustment process. The hybrid dynamic model is constructed on the basis of some assumptions and piecewise linear approximation for components nonlinearities. Then, the on-off statuses of solenoid valves and the piecewise approximation process are described by propositional logic, and the hybrid system is transformed into the set of linear mixed-integer equalities and inequalities, denoted as MLD model, automatically by HYSDEL. Using this model, a hybrid model predictive controller (HMPC) is tuned based on online mixed-integer quadratic optimization (MIQP). Two different scenarios are considered in the simulation, whose results verify the height adjustment effectiveness of the proposed approach. Explicit solutions of the controller are computed to control the vehicle height adjustment system in realtime using an offline multi-parametric programming technology (MPT), thus convert the controller into an equivalent explicit piecewise affine form. Finally, bench experiments for vehicle height lifting, holding and lowering procedures are conducted, which demonstrate that the HMPC can adjust the vehicle height by controlling the on-off statuses of solenoid valves directly. This research proposes a new modeling and control method for vehicle height adjustment of ECAS, which leads to a closed-loop system with favorable dynamical properties.展开更多

The design procedure is carried out by tuning the transformation parameter and DC gain of the performance weighted function, which is an iterative and optimal search process. Simulation results are presented which show that the designed robust controller not only ensures the robust stability of the system in face of the parametric variations in the model, but also makes the system have a favourable robust tracking performance. In terms of two uncoupled single variable linear systems, a multivariable coupledsystem is established by choosing one output and the difference of the two outputs as a new outputvector, so that both command tracking and synchronization properties can be demonstrated by aH_(infinity) performance index. To improve the synchronization and trailing performance and toguarantee the system robust stability, the mixed sensitivity H_(infinity), design methodology isadopted. The presented synchronization scheme is then extended to the case where one of the twosystems include two input variables, and then applied to the position synchronization control of awafer-retical stage. The wafer-reticle stage consists of a wafer stage, a reticle coarse stage, anda reticle fine stage. The reticle coarse stage picks up the reticle fine stage. The three stagesought to tack their commands, but synchronization between the wafer stage and the reticle fine stagemust be stressed in the tracking process. In the application, by appropriately determining theweighting matrices for the sensitivity function and the complementary sensitivity function, asatisfactory KL synchronization controller is obtained to realize highly accurate positionsynchronization, and to guarantee tracking performance. The above results are verified by simulationexperiments.展开更多

Sinc...Enhancing traffic efficiency and alleviating(even circumventing) traffic congestion with advanced traffic signal control(TSC) strategies are always the main issues to be addressed in urban transportation systems. Since model predictive control(MPC) has a lot of advantages in modeling complex dynamic systems, it has been widely studied in traffic signal control over the past 20 years. There is a need for an in-depth understanding of MPC-based TSC methods for traffic networks. Therefore, this paper presents the motivation of using MPC for TSC and how MPC-based TSC approaches are implemented to manage and control the dynamics of traffic flows both in urban road networks and freeway networks. Meanwhile, typical performance evaluation metrics, solution methods, examples of simulations,and applications related to MPC-based TSC approaches are reported. More importantly, this paper summarizes the recent developments and the research trends in coordination and control of traffic networks with MPC-based TSC approaches. Remaining challenges and open issues are discussed towards the end of this paper to discover potential future research directions.展开更多

The PSO can efficiently solve design problems of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) optimal control systems, which is very suitable for practical engineering designs. It is used to search for parameters of a structure-specified controller, which satisfies mixed performance index. The simulation and experimental results show high feasibility, robustness and practical value compared with the conventional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and proportional-Integral (PI) controller, and the proposed algorithm is also more efficient compared with the genetic algorithm (GA).

文摘The mixed L1/H-infinity control problem for a class of uncertain linear singular systems is considered using a matrix inequality approach. The purpose is to design a state feedback control law such that the resultant closed-loop system is regular, impulse-free, stable and satisfies some given mixed L1/H-infinity performance. A sufficient condition for the existence of such control law is given in terms of a set of matrix inequalities by the introduction of inescapable set and *-norm. When these matrix inequalities are feasible, an explicit expression of the desired state feedback control law is given. A numerical example is used to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

文摘Controlled Diffusion Solidification(CDS) is a promising process relied on mixing two liquid alloys of precisely controlled chemistry and temperature in order to produce a predetermined alloy composition. In this study, the CDS was employed to prepare hypereutectic Al-20%Si(mass fraction) alloy using Al-30%Si and pure Al of different temperatures. The mixing rate was controlled using three small crucibles with a hole of different diameters in their bottom. The effect of mixing rate and temperature on the microstructure of the primary Si-phase during the mixing of molten Al and Al-30%Si was studied. The results showed that when the diameter of the small crucible bottom hole is 16 mm, a higher mass mixing rate 0.217 kg·s-1 would results in a lower stream velocity 0.414 m·s-1. Conversely a lower mass mixing rate 0.114 kg·s-1(the diameter of the small crucible bottom hole is 8 mm) would result in a higher fluid stream velocity 0.879 m·s-1. A lower mass mixing rate would be better to refine the primary Si than a higher mass mixing rate. Meanwhile, the morphology and distribution of primary Si could also be improved. Especially, when Al-30%Si alloy at 820 °C was mixed with pure Al at 670 °C in the case of a mass mixing rate of 0.114 kg·s-1 and a pouring temperature of 680 °C, the average size of the primary Si phase would be only 18.2 μm. Its morphology would mostly be octahedral and the primary Si would distribute uniformly in the matrix microstructure. The lower mass mixing rate(0.114 kg·s-1) will enhance the broken tendency of Al-30%Si steam and the mixing agitation of resultant melt, so the primary Si phase can be better refined.
文摘Designing a robust controller for a system with timevarying delays poses a major challenge. In this paper, we propose a method based on mixed sensitivity H∞ for the control of linear time invariant(LTI) systems with varying time delays. The time delay is assumed bounded and the upper bound is known. In the technique we propose, the delay affecting the plant to be controlled is treated as an unmodeled uncertainty(in form of multiplicative uncertainty). That uncertainty is approximated and then an H∞based controller, for the plant represented by the multiplicative uncertainty and the nominal model, is calculated. The obtained H∞controller is used to control the LTI systems with varying time delays. Simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘The control problems associated with vehicle height adjustment of electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) still pose theoretical challenges for researchers, which manifest themselves in the publications on this subject over the last years. This paper deals with modeling and control of a vehicle height adjustment system for ECAS, which is an example of a hybrid dynamical system due to the coexistence and coupling of continuous variables and discrete events. A mixed logical dynamical (MLD) modeling approach is chosen for capturing enough details of the vehicle height adjustment process. The hybrid dynamic model is constructed on the basis of some assumptions and piecewise linear approximation for components nonlinearities. Then, the on-off statuses of solenoid valves and the piecewise approximation process are described by propositional logic, and the hybrid system is transformed into the set of linear mixed-integer equalities and inequalities, denoted as MLD model, automatically by HYSDEL. Using this model, a hybrid model predictive controller (HMPC) is tuned based on online mixed-integer quadratic optimization (MIQP). Two different scenarios are considered in the simulation, whose results verify the height adjustment effectiveness of the proposed approach. Explicit solutions of the controller are computed to control the vehicle height adjustment system in realtime using an offline multi-parametric programming technology (MPT), thus convert the controller into an equivalent explicit piecewise affine form. Finally, bench experiments for vehicle height lifting, holding and lowering procedures are conducted, which demonstrate that the HMPC can adjust the vehicle height by controlling the on-off statuses of solenoid valves directly. This research proposes a new modeling and control method for vehicle height adjustment of ECAS, which leads to a closed-loop system with favorable dynamical properties.

文摘A robust controller is designed by using the bilinear transformation and H∞ mixed sensitivity method for bio-dissimilation process of glycerol to 1,3-propanediol. Under the controller the system works near an optimal steady-state for the volumetric productivity of 1,3-propanediol attaining its maximization. The design procedure is carried out by tuning the transformation parameter and DC gain of the performance weighted function, which is an iterative and optimal search process. Simulation results are presented which show that the designed robust controller not only ensures the robust stability of the system in face of the parametric variations in the model, but also makes the system have a favourable robust tracking performance. The validity of the proposed H∞ controller has been tested.

文摘For the outputs of two nth-order linear control systems to work insynchronization and meanwhile to track their commands, a H_(infinity) synchronization control schemeis presented. In terms of two uncoupled single variable linear systems, a multivariable coupledsystem is established by choosing one output and the difference of the two outputs as a new outputvector, so that both command tracking and synchronization properties can be demonstrated by aH_(infinity) performance index. To improve the synchronization and trailing performance and toguarantee the system robust stability, the mixed sensitivity H_(infinity), design methodology isadopted. The presented synchronization scheme is then extended to the case where one of the twosystems include two input variables, and then applied to the position synchronization control of awafer-retical stage. The wafer-reticle stage consists of a wafer stage, a reticle coarse stage, anda reticle fine stage. The reticle coarse stage picks up the reticle fine stage. The three stagesought to tack their commands, but synchronization between the wafer stage and the reticle fine stagemust be stressed in the tracking process. In the application, by appropriately determining theweighting matrices for the sensitivity function and the complementary sensitivity function, asatisfactory KL synchronization controller is obtained to realize highly accurate positionsynchronization, and to guarantee tracking performance. The above results are verified by simulationexperiments.

文摘Enhancing traffic efficiency and alleviating(even circumventing) traffic congestion with advanced traffic signal control(TSC) strategies are always the main issues to be addressed in urban transportation systems. Since model predictive control(MPC) has a lot of advantages in modeling complex dynamic systems, it has been widely studied in traffic signal control over the past 20 years. There is a need for an in-depth understanding of MPC-based TSC methods for traffic networks. Therefore, this paper presents the motivation of using MPC for TSC and how MPC-based TSC approaches are implemented to manage and control the dynamics of traffic flows both in urban road networks and freeway networks. Meanwhile, typical performance evaluation metrics, solution methods, examples of simulations,and applications related to MPC-based TSC approaches are reported. More importantly, this paper summarizes the recent developments and the research trends in coordination and control of traffic networks with MPC-based TSC approaches. Remaining challenges and open issues are discussed towards the end of this paper to discover potential future research directions.
