It is necessary to explore the flow characteristics and hot workability of LAHS steels during the multi-pass forging process, which is beneficial to the formulation of actual processing parameters. In the study, the multi-pass hot compression experiments of a typical LAHS steel are carried out at a wide range of deformation temperatures and strain rates. It is found that the work hardening rate of the experimental material depends on deformation parameters and deformation passes, which is ascribed to the impacts of static and dynamic softening behaviors. A new model is established to describe the flow characteristics at various deformation passes. Compared to the classical Arrhenius model and modified Zerilli and Armstrong model, the newly proposed model shows higher prediction accuracy with a confidence level of 0.98565. Furthermore, the connection between power dissipation efficiency(PDE) and deformation parameters is revealed by analyzing the microstructures. The PDE cannot be utilized to reflect the efficiency of energy dissipation for microstructure evolution during the entire deformation process, but only to assess the efficiency of energy dissipation for microstructure evolution in a specific deformation parameter state. As a result, an integrated processing map is proposed to better study the hot workability of the LAHS steel, which considers the effects of instability factor(IF), PDE, and distribution and size of grains. The optimized processing parameters for the multi-pass deformation process are the deformation parameters of 1223–1318 K and 0.01–0.08 s^(-1). Complete dynamic recrystallization occurs within the optimized processing parameters with an average grain size of 18.36–42.3 μm. This study will guide the optimization of the forging process of heavy components.展开更多

Unobserved heterogeneity across the travelers should be taken into consideration to prevent biasedness and inconsistency in the estimated parameters in the stop frequency models. Additionally, previous studies on the stop frequency have mostly been done in larger metropolitan areas and less attention has been paid to the areas with less population. This study addresses these gaps by using 2012 travel data from a medium sized U.S. urban area using the work tour for the case study. Stop in the work tour were classified into three groups of outbound leg, work based subtour, and inbound leg of the commutes. Latent Class Poisson Regression Models were used to analyze the data. The results indicate the presence of heterogeneity across the commuters. Using latent class models significantly improves the predictive power of the models compared to regular one class Poisson regression models. In contrast to one class Poisson models, gender becomes insignificant in predicting the number of tours when unobserved heterogeneity is accounted for. The commuters are associated with increased stops on their work based subtour when the employment density of service-related occupations increases in their work zone, but employment density of retail employment does not significantly contribute to the stop making likelihood of the commuters. Additionally, an increase in the number of work tours was associated with fewer stops on the inbound leg of the commute. The results of this study suggest the consideration of unobserved heterogeneity in the stop frequency models and help transportation agencies and policy makers make better inferences from such models.展开更多

On this point, all of them, not only ICT professionals but also non-professionals or end-users, need to accept responsibility to the public and to have professional spirit in order to make and keep the information society and e-business environment safe and reliable. However, an individual ICT worker is not necessarily a strong existence; he or she is in a complex situation filled with stress and pressure and his or her decisions are sometimes affected by it. Therefore, social and organisational measures to prompt ICT workers to behave in professional spirit are necessary to be taken.展开更多

Methods: The present study is an exhaustive cross-sectional survey which has been conducted at the University Hospital of Monastir, Tunisia, and it is about 92 care agents working permanently the night. The study of vigilance is based on Epworth scale and Super Lab program. Results: The average age was equal to 42.53 ± 9.45 years with a sex ratio of 1.72. Nurses accounted for 72%. The average score of alertness assessed with Epworth scale was equal to 14.5 ± 6. The use of the Super Lab software has objectified a tendency towards the increase in the average time of reaction of accomplishment of the simple task and the positive cueing task, which was evaluated while starting the shift, during the half time of the work and at the end of the shift. In addition, the average rate of errors evaluated at the beginning, half-time and at the end of the work has increased during 3 tests (simple task, positive and negative cueing tasks) without this difference being statistically significant. Conclusion: The alteration of vigilance with an ascent of the error rate among fixed night shift workers is a reality, which puts in question, not only the health of paramedical staff but also the care safety provided by these teams.展开更多

To do so, 200 garments workers were interviewed through a structured questionnaire using purposive sampling technique. As the statistical tools, univariate analysis was completed to figure out frequency distribution and the binary logistic regression model was used to predict the probability occurrence of the events by fitting data. The results revealed that the majority of the garments workers (63.5%) are very young (18 - 27 years), almost all (97.5%) are literate and most of them (57.0%) used contraceptives. Importantly, most of the respondents (64.0%) had not participated in any type of seminar or workshop related to HIV/AIDS, though almost all the respondents (84.5%) know HIV is a dangerous and life threatening disease. The logistic regression model identified that respondents' education, contraceptive usage, mass media and HIV workshops have statistically significant positive effects on HIV/AIDS awareness. Various media campaigns are strongly suggested to be increased knowledge and awareness to control the spread of HIV as well as STDs among garments workers in Bangladesh.展开更多

However, prospective studies have shown that not all psychiatric staff who experience workplace violence experience post-traumatic stress. Purpose: We want to examine the longitudinal trajectories of PTSD in this population to identify possible subgroups that might be more at risk. Furthermore, we need to investigate whether certain risk factors of PTSD might identify membership in the subgroups. Method: In a sample of psychiatric staff from 18 psychiatric wards in Denmark who had reported an incident of WV, we used Latent Growth Mixture Modelling (LGMM) and further logistic regression analysis to investigate this. Results: We found three separate PTSD trajectories: a recovering, a delayed-onset, and a moderate-stable trajectory. Higher social support and negative cognitive appraisals about oneself, the world and self-blame predicted membership in the delayed-onset trajectory, while higher social support and lower accept coping predicted membership in the delayed-onset trajectory. Conclusion: Although most psychiatric staff go through a natural recovery, it is important to be aware of and identify staff members who might be struggling long-term. More focus on the factors that might predict these groups should be an important task for psychiatric departments to prevent posttraumatic symptomatology from work.展开更多

文摘Both case-control and cohort studies were undertaken from July 1,1969 to June 30,1983 to ascertain whether exposure to chloroprene increases the risk of cancer.Fifty-five cases of cancer deaths were verified,16 of which had histories of exposure to chloroprene ranging from 3 to 23 years(median 11 years)with a latent period of 8-27 years, except for one case of 3 years(median 12.5 years).Fifty-four pairs were obtained by matching the cancer deaths to noncaneer deaths in accordance with strict requirements. The odds ratio for the paired data was 13,x^2=8.64,P <0.005.The average age at death from cancer of workers exposed to chloroprene was 12.7 years younger than that of unexposed workers,t'=2.98,P<0.001.The total cohort consisted of 1213 persons, among whom 149(11.6%)had histories of exposure for over 25 years,381(31.5%) for over 20 years, and 852(70.2%) for over 15 years. The SMR for the total cohort was 2.38(P <0.01),and all SMRs for the high-exposure occupations were of significance(P<0.05or P<0.01),in contrast to those of the low-exposure groups whose SMRs were low or zero. Thus, a dose-response relationship existed.Among the high-exposure occupations, maintenance me- chanics seem to have the highest risk of cancers, and SMRs for liver, lung, and lymphatic cancers were significant in this group. These results suggested that chloroprene exposure increases the risk of developing cancer.1989 Academic Press,Inc.

文摘The effect of on-the-job training on job mobility is an important topic in labor economics.Based on a sample survey data of migrant workers in Liaoning Province China, this paper has statistically described job mobility of migrant workers and then used a multinomial Logistic model to analyze the effect of on-the-job training on job mobility. We found, firstly, migrant workers have high-level job mobility;secondly,inter-firm/city occupational mobility is the major type of migrant workers’mobility, and then followed by the inter-firm mobility and inter-regional mobility that without occupation change;thirdly,on-the-job training has a significant impending effect on interregional mobility and occupational mobility, while has insignificant effect on inter-firm mobility.
文摘Community health workers are equipped with the tools and resources necessary to bring about a change in the form of a rapid chain reaction. The community health workers model focuses on the practices, strategies, plans, and implementation techniques needed to organize a community health event based on diverse agendas:health, environment, and minorities. This model encompasses past experiences as a guide with tested strategies to assist future health interns with a ground framework and resources to showcase the importance of adopting healthy and environmentally friendly practices. The basic outline of the model is based on data collected from various community health events in Illinois(United States of America)and New Delhi(India). These events included back to school fairs, cleanliness drives, health camps, and educational events. As community health workers can help in implementing better practices in the masses through one-on-one interactions, this model of community health worker programs would outline event organization tips, predicted outcomes, targeted audience, and required material templates. The next phase of this model highlights utilizing the data and experience from these events to report to the health ministries of different countries for the incorporation of the proposed practices in their health agendas and policies. This model,if implemented unanimously, could bring about a revolution in the arena of health workers. They will be assisted at each step, will establish connections with health workers globally, and share their health and environment-based agendas to collaborate and organize important events. This model envisions a strong established network of community health workers, display of their agenda, and creation of a ripple effect throughout the society by the means of these programs.
文摘Background: Workplace violence (WV) towards psychiatric staff has commonly been associated with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). More focus on the factors that might predict these groups should be an important task for psychiatric departments to prevent posttraumatic symptomatology from work.
文摘Lu Yun rejoices that she did not hesitate to take the job as a community patrol a year ago. "Had I refused to take up the job, there would have been no opportunity at all to find a job now," she said. In 2001, the Dalian city government bought a number of jobs of public welfare in nature, including patrols in communities. However, many people were reluctant to take them at the time, leaving several hundred vacancies. Lu Yun, 48, was laid off by the Dalian Department Store four years ago. She applied and was given the job. Although the monthly salary is only 400 yuan, she took to like it. "I can enjoy old-age insurance and medical insurance,"
文摘Many Chinese people know a song from former USSR-'spinning girl'. In this song, a tranquil scene presented: A spinning girl is rolling a handloom slightly and looking out of the window thoughtfully. This song makes me think about all the textile workers in China, they are operating the spinning machines
