The control design, based on self-adaptive PID with genetic algorithms(GA) tuning on-line was investigated, for the temperature control of industrial microwave drying rotary device with the multi-layer(IMDRDWM) and with multivariable nonlinear interaction of microwave and materials. The conventional PID control strategy incorporated with optimization GA was put forward to maintain the optimum drying temperature in order to keep the moisture content below 1%, whose adaptation ability included the cost function of optimization GA according to the output change. Simulations on five different industrial process models and practical temperature process control system for selenium-enriched slag drying intensively by using IMDRDWM were carried out systematically, indicating the reliability and effectiveness of control design. The parameters of proposed control design are all on-line implemented without iterative predictive calculations, and the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed, which makes the developed scheme simpler in its synthesis and application, providing the practical guidelines for the control implementation and the parameter design. 展开更多

A variable parameter self-adaptive control strategy based on driving condition identification is proposed to take full advantage of the fuel saving potential of the plug-in hybrid electric bus(PHEB).Firstly,the principal component analysis(PCA)and the fuzzy c-means clustering(FCM)algorithm is used to construct the comprehensive driving cycle,congestion driving cycle,urban driving cycle and suburban driving cycle of Chinese urban buses.Secondly,an improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)algorithm is proposed,and is used to optimize the control parameters of PHEB under different driving cycles,respectively.Then,the variable parameter self-adaptive control strategy based on driving condition identification is given.Finally,for an actual running vehicle,the driving condition is identified by relevance vector machine(RVM),and the corresponding control parameters are selected to control the vehicle.The simulation results show that the fuel consumption of using the variable parameter self-adaptive control strategy is reduced by 4.2% compared with that of the fixed parameter control strategy,and the feasibility of the variable parameter self-adaptive control strategy is verified. 展开更多

Robust model-reference control for descriptor linear systems with structural parameter uncertainties is investigated. A sufficient condition for existing a model-reference zero-error asymptotic tracking controller is given. It is shown that the robust model reference control problem can be decomposed into two subproblems: a robust state feedback stabilization problem for descriptor systems subject to parameter uncertainties and a robust compensation problem. The latter aims to find three coefficient matrices which satisfy four matrix equations and simultaneously minimize the effect of the uncertainties to the tracking error. Based on a complete parametric solution to a class of generalized Sylvester matrix equations, the robust compensation problem is converted into a minimization problem with quadratic cost and linear constraints. A numerical example shows the effect of the proposed approach. 展开更多

In the fed-batch cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae,excessive glucose addition leads to increased ethanol accumulation,which will reduce the efficiency of glucose utilization and inhibit product synthesis.Insufficient glucose addition limits cell growth.To properly regulate glucose feed,a different evolution algorithm based on self-adaptive control strategy was proposed,consisting of three modules(PID,system identification and parameter optimization).Performance of the proposed and conventional PID controllers was validated and compared in simulated and experimental cultivations.In the simulation,cultivation with the self-adaptive control strategy had a more stable glucose feed rate and concentration,more stable ethanol concentration around the set-point(1.0 g·L^(-1)),and final biomass concentration of 34.5 g-DCW·L^(-1),29.2%higher than that with a conventional PID control strategy.In the experiment,the cultivation with the self-adaptive control strategy also had more stable glucose and ethanol concentrations,as well as a final biomass concentration that was 37.4%higher than that using the conventional strategy. 展开更多

However, it is not an easy task to properly set control parameters in DE for different optiinization problems. According to the relative position of two different individual vectors selected to generate a difference vector in the searching place, a self-adapting strategy for the scale factor F of the difference vector is proposed. In terms of the convergence status of the target vector in the current population, a self-adapting crossover probability constant CR strategy is proposed. Therefore, good target vectors have a lower CFI while worse target vectors have a large CFI. At the same time, the mutation operator is modified to improve the convergence speed. The performance of these proposed approaches are studied with the use of some benchmark problems and applied to the trajectory planning of a three-joint redundant manipulator. Finally, the experiment results show that the proposed approaches can greatly improve robustness and convergence speed. 展开更多

A self-adaptive differential evolution neutron spectrum unfolding algorithm(SDENUA)is established in this study to unfold the neutron spectra obtained from a water-pumping-injection multilayered concentric sphere neutron spectrometer(WMNS).Specifically,the neutron fluence bounds are estimated to accelerate the algorithm convergence,and the minimum error between the optimal solution and input neutron counts with relative uncertainties is limited to 10^(-6)to avoid unnecessary calculations.Furthermore,the crossover probability and scaling factor are self-adaptively controlled.FLUKA Monte Carlo is used to simulate the readings of the WMNS under(1)a spectrum of Cf-252 and(2)its spectrum after being moderated,(3)a spectrum used for boron neutron capture therapy,and(4)a reactor spectrum.Subsequently,the measured neutron counts are unfolded using the SDENUA.The uncertainties of the measured neutron count and the response matrix are considered in the SDENUA,which does not require complex parameter tuning or an a priori default spectrum.The results indicate that the solutions of the SDENUA agree better with the IAEA spectra than those of MAXED and GRAVEL in UMG 3.1,and the errors of the final results calculated using the SDENUA are less than 12%.The established SDENUA can be used to unfold spectra from the WMNS. 展开更多

A new admission control algorithm considering the network self-similar access characteristics is proposed. Taking advantage of the mathematical model of the network traffic admission control which can effectively overcome the self-similar characteristics of the network requests, through the scheduling of the differential service qucue based on priority while at the same time taking into account various factors including access characteristics of requests, load information, etc, smoothness of the admission control is ensured by the algorithm proposed in this paper. We design a non-linear self-adapting control algorithm by introducing an exponential admission function, thus overcomes the negative aspects introduced by static threshold parameters. Simulation results show that the scheme proposed in this paper can effectively improve the resource utilization of the clusters, while at the same time protecting the service with high priority. Our simulation results also show that this algorithm can improve system stability and reliability too. Thus, the detection precision and speed are promoted. The limitation that there are too many chaotic oscillators in Duffing system is broken. Meanwhile the disadvantage that the detection speed is lower in R ssler chaotic control is overcome. The self-adaption choice of frequency difference control is realized using the Duffing and Rssler different chaotic oscillators to obtain unknown signal frequency. Based on the mathematical model, simulation research and experimental investigation with subsection PID control, neural network self-adaptive PID control and single neuron self-adaptive PID control adopted respectively are carried out, and the results indicate that compared with PID control, neural network self-adaptive PID control and single neuron self-adaptive PID control don't need controlled system's accurate model and have fast response, high control accuracy and strong robustness, they are very suitable for HM position servo control system. 展开更多

In this paper,a sensorless control strategy of a permanent magnet synchronous machine(PMSM)based on an improved rotor flux observer(IFO)is proposed.Due to the unknown integral initial value and the high harmonics caused by current sampling and inverter nonlinearities,the flux linkage estimated by traditional rotor flux observer may be inaccurate.In order to address these issues,a self-adaptive band-pass filter(SABPF)is designed to eliminate the DC component and high-frequency harmonics of the estimated equivalent rotor flux linkage.Furthermore,in order to avoid that the design of PI parameter is influenced by the amplitude of equivalent rotor flux linkage,an improved phase-locked loop(IPLL)is employed to obtain the rotor speed and to normalize the estimated equivalent rotor flux linkage.In addition,angle shift caused by an SABPF is compensated to improve the accuracy of the estimated flux linkage angle.Besides,the parameter robustness of this method is analyzed in detail.Finally,simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and parameter robustness of the proposed method. 展开更多

In order to overcome the big overshoot and long regulating time of the long time-delay system control, a new fuzzy self-adaptive PI-Smith control method is proposed. This method combines the Smith predictive control with fuzzy self-adaptive proportional-integral (PI) control. The traditional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller in Smith predictive control is replaced by fuzzy PI controller which utilizes the principle of fuzzy control to tune parameters of PI controller on-line. The results of simulation for electric furnace show that the method has the advantages of shortening regulating time, no overshoot, no steady-state error, excellent control accuracy, and good adaptive ability to the change of system model. 展开更多

As a novel architecture,software-defined networking(SDN) is viewed as the key technology of future networking.The core idea of SDN is to decouple the control plane and the data plane,enabling centralized,flexible,and programmable network control.Although local area networks like data center networks have benefited from SDN,it is still a problem to deploy SDN in wide area networks(WANs) or large-scale networks.Existing works show that multiple controllers are required in WANs with each covering one small SDN domain.However,the problems of SDN domain partition and controller placement should be further addressed.Therefore,we propose the spectral clustering based partition and placement algorithms,by which we can partition a large network into several small SDN domains efficiently and effectively.In our algorithms,the matrix perturbation theory and eigengap are used to discover the stability of SDN domains and decide the optimal number of SDN domains automatically.To evaluate our algorithms,we develop a new experimental framework with the Internet2 topology and other available WAN topologies.The results show the effectiveness of our algorithm for the SDN domain partition and controller placement problems. 展开更多

Once an asymmetrical fault occurs on the AC side of the receiving-end of a high-voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission system,the current reference will be affected by the control regulation on the DC inverter side and the commutation voltage asymmetry.In this case,the advance firing angle will fluctuate periodically,causing security threats to the system.If the fault cannot be cleared in time,the effect may be even more serious.However,the traditional proportional-integral(PI)controller cannot effectively suppress the periodic components in the input error signal,which is an important cause of continuous commutation failure.Thus,the system requires more time to recover from the fault.Motivated by this,a selfadaptive auto-disturbance rejection PI controller is proposed in this study.The controller has the advantages of fast response speed and strong anti-interference ability of the auto-disturbance rejection controller.On one hand,it can automatically adjust PI,and the parameters can maintain the system’s adaptive ability.On the other hand,the discretization process satisfies the computer simulation requirements.By applying the proposed controller to a system under constant current control and extinction angle control,the dynamic response speed can be improved and the robust performance of the system can be ensured when dealing with a wide range of perturbations.Finally,simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively suppress the continuous commutation failure of DC transmission systems. 展开更多

Background Compared with traditional biomagnetic field detection devices,such as superconducting quantum interference devices(SQUIDs)and atomic magnetometers,only giant magneto impedance(GMI)sensors can be applied for unshielded human brain biomagnetic detection,and they have the potential for application in next-generation wearable equipment for brain-computer interfaces(BCIs).Achieving a better GMI sensor without magnetic shielding requires the stimulation of the GMI effect to be maximized and environmental noise interference to be minimized.Moreover,the GMI effect stimulated in an amorphous filament is closely related to its working point,which is sensitive to both the external magnetic field and the drive current of the filament.Methods In this paper,we propose a new noise reducing GMI gradiometer with a dual-loop self-adapting structure.Noise reduction is realized by a direction-flexible differential probe,and the dual-loop structure optimizes and stabilizes the working point by automatically controlling the external magnetic field and drive current.This dual-loop structure is fully program controlled by a micro control unit(MCU),which not only simplifies the traditional constant parameter sensor circuit,saving the time required to adjust the circuit component parameters,but also improves the sensor performance and environmental adaptation.Results In the performance test,within 2 min of self-adaptation,our sensor showed a better sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)than those of the traditional designs and achieved a background noise of 12 pT/√Hz at 10 Hz and 7pT/√Hz at 200 Hz.Conclusion To the best of our knowledge,our sensor is the first to realize self-adaptation of both the external magnetic field and the drive current. 展开更多

This paper researches some problems in complex formation for multi-agents,in which two matrices are proposed to record the formation.The pattern matrix is used to describe the pattern of the formation;meanwhile,the location matrix is used to record the location of each agent.Thus,all desired positions of each agent will be obtained by geometrical relationship on the basis of two matrices above.In addition a self-adaptation flocking algorithm is proposed to control all agents to form a desired formation and avoid obstacles.The main idea is as follows:agents will form a desired formation through the method of formation control when far away from obstacles;otherwise,agents will freely fly to pass through the area of obstacles.In the simulation,three scenarios are designed to verify the effectiveness of our method.The results show that our method also can be applied in three dimensions.All agents will form a stable formation and keep the same velocity at last. 展开更多

A suit of online self-adapting control (OSAC) approach has been developed to predict and optimize annealing craft system. The approach consists of three critical parts including prediction module, self-adapting optimization module, and self-learning amendment module. Firstly, the prediction module and self- adapting optimization module are based on the modeling methods. The self-adapting optimization module consists of two parts including "reappearance of annealed process" and "optimization of subsequent annealing process". Secondly, the self-learning amendment module, based on furnace atmosphere, equipment performance, and compensation coefficients, is designed to improve the accuracy of optimization results. The results obtained from the proposed approach, usually finished in about 3 min, are in good agreement with the test values, such as the deviation of temperature for hot-spot and cold-spot are within 10 K, the relative errors are within 1.1%, and the accuracy of annealing for heating period is increased by using self-learning amendment module. 展开更多
