Hence data required to test for amplitude variation with angle or offset needs to have its amplitudes for all offsets preserved and not stacked. Amplitude Variation with Offset (AVO)/Amplitude Variation with Angle (AVA) is necessary to account for information in the offset/angle parameter (mode converted S-wave and P-wave velocities). Since amplitudes are a function of the converted S- and P-waves, it is important to investigate the dependence of amplitudes on the elastic (P- and S-waves) parameters from the seismic data. By modelling these effects for different reservoir fluids via fluid substitution, various AVO geobody classes present along the well and in the entire seismic cube can be observed. AVO analysis was performed on one test well (Well_1) and 3D pre-stack angle gathers from the Tano Basin. The analysis involves creating a synthetic model to infer the effect of offset scaling techniques on amplitude responses in the Tano basin as compared to the effect of unscaled seismic data. The spectral balance process was performed to match the amplitude spectra of all angle stacks to that of the mid (26°) stack on the test lines. The process had an effect primarily on the far (34° - 40°) stacks. The frequency content of these stacks slightly increased to match that of the near and mid stacks. In offset scaling process, the root mean square (RMS) amplitude comparison between the synthetic and seismic suggests that the amplitude of the far traces should be reduced relative to the nears by up to 16%. However, the exact scaler values depend on the time window considered. This suggests that the amplitude scaling with offset delivered from seismic processing is only approximately correct and needs to be checked with well synthetics and adjusted accordingly prior to use for AVO studies. The AVO attribute volumes generated were better at resolving anomalies on spectrally balanced and offset scaled data than data delivered from conventional processing. A typical class II AVO anomaly is seen along the test well from the cross-plot analysis and AVO attribute cube which indicates an oil filled reservoir.展开更多

The seaweed moisture content was decreased around 50% in 2-day sauna. Kinetic curves of drying of seaweed were known to be used in this system. The non-linear regression procedure was used to fit three different drying models. The models were compared with experimental data of red seaweed being dried on the daily average of air temperature about 40℃. The fit quality of the models was evaluated using the coefficient of determination (R2), Mean Bias Error (MBE) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The highest values of R2 (0.99027), the lowest MBE (0.00044) and RMSE (0.03039) indicated that the Page model was the best mathematical model to describe the drying behavior of sauna dried seaweed. The percentage of the saved time using this technique was calculated at 57.9% on the average solar radiation of about 500 W/m2 and air flow rate of 0.056 kg/s.展开更多

During the investigation, the optimization design of the equivalent-depth truncated system is performed by using the similarity of the static characteristics between the truncated system and the full depth one as the objective function. According to the truncated system, the corresponding physical test model is made. By adopting the coupling time domain simulation method, the tnmcated system model test is numerically reconstructed to carefully verify the computer simulation software and to adjust the corresponding hydrodynamic parameters. Based on the above work, the numerical extrapolation to the full depth system is performed by using the verified computer software and the adjusted hydrodyrmmic parameters. The full depth system model test is then performed in the basin and the results are compared with those from the numerical extrapolation. At last, the implementation procedure and the key technique of the hybrid model testing of the deep-sea platforms are summarized and printed. Through the above investigations, some beneficial conclusions are presented.展开更多

The model combines the transport and fate processes of spilled oil with the random walk technique. Oil movement under the influence of tidal currents, wind driven currents, and turbulent eddies is simulated by the PLUME RW dispersion model developed by HR Wallingford. The weathering processes in the model represent physical and chemical changes of soil slicks with time, and comprise mechanical spreading, dispersion, evaporation and emulsification. Shoreline stranding is determined approximately using a capacity method for different shoreline types. This paper presents details of the model, and describe the results of various sensitivity tests. The model is suitable for oil spill contingency planning.展开更多

On the basisof the principle of minimum potential energy, the governing differential equations and boundaryconditions for circular thin plates on modified Vlasov foundation considering the characteristics ofGibson soil are derived. The equations for the attenuation parameter in bending problem are alsoobtained, and the issue of unknown parameters being difficult to determine is solved using theiterative method. Numerical examples are analyzed and the results are in good agreement withthose form other literatures. It proves that the method is practical and accurate. Theinhomogeneity of modified Vlasov foundations has some influence on the deformation andinternal force behavior of circular thin plates. The effects of various parameters on the bending ofcircular plates and characteristic parameters of the foundation are discussed. The modified modelfurther enriches and develops the elastic foundations. Relevant conclusions that are meaningful toengineering practice are drawn.展开更多

文摘A sauna drying technique—the solar drier was designed and imposed, constructed and tested for drying of seaweed. The percentage of the saved time using this technique was calculated at 57.9% on the average solar radiation of about 500 W/m2 and air flow rate of 0.056 kg/s.

文摘BACKGROUND Clinically, tracheoesophageal fistula(TEF)is lack of effective surgical strategies. One reason is due to the lack of appropriate animal models of acquired TEF,which is usually complex and difficult.Recently, the magnetic compression technique has been applied for digestive tract anastomosis or vascular anastomosis in animals. In this study,an animal model of TEF in dogs was developed by using the magnetic compression technique, hoping to provide a new method for mimicking TEF.AIM To establish a TEF model in dogs by using the magnetic compression technique.METHODS Six male beagles were used as models with two Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets for TEF.The parent magnet and the daughter magnet were placed in the cervical esophagus and trachea, respectively. The anterior wall of the esophagus and the posterior wall of the trachea were compressed when the two magnets coupled. After 4-6 d,the necrotic tissue between the two magnets fell off and the parent and daughter magnets disengaged from the target location, leaving a fistula.Gastroscopy/bronchoscopy,upper gastrointestinal contrast study, and histological analysis were performed.RESULTS The establishment of the TEF model in all six beagles was successful. The average time of magnet placement was 4.33±1.11 min(range,3-7 min).Mean time for the magnets to disengage from the target location was 4.67±0.75 d(range,4-6 d).TEFs were observed by gastroscopy/bronchoscopy and esophageal angiography. The gross anatomical structure of the esophagus and the trachea was in good condition. There was no esophageal mucosa or pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium at the site of the fistula according to histological analysis.CONCLUSION It is simple, feasible, and minimally invasive to use the magnetic compression technique for the establishment of the TEF model in dogs.

文摘Korean larch(Larix olgensis)is one of the main tree species for aff orestation and timber production in northeast China. However, its timber quality and growth ability are largely infl uenced by crown size, structure and shape. The majority of crown models are static models based on tree size and stand characteristics from temporary sample plots, but crown dynamic models has seldom been constructed. Therefore, this study aimed to develop height to crown base(HCB)and crown length(CL)dynamic models using the branch mortality technique for a Korean larch plantation. The nonlinear mixed-eff ects model with random eff ects, variance functions and correlation structures, was used to build HCB and CL dynamic models. The data were obtained from 95 sample trees of 19 plots in Meng JiaGang forest farm in Northeast China. The results showed that HCB progressively increases as tree age, tree height growth(HT growth)and diameter at breast height growth(DBH growth). The CL was increased with tree age in 20 years ago,and subsequently stabilized.HT growth,DBH growth stand basal area(BAS)and crown competition factor(CCF)signifi cantly infl uenced HCB and CL.The HCB was positively correlated with BAS,HT growth and DBH growth, but negatively correlated with CCF.The CL was positively correlated with BAS and CCF,but negatively correlated with DBH growth.Model fi tting and validation confi rmed that the mixed-eff ects model considering the stand and tree level random eff ects was accurate and reliable for predicting the HCB and CL dynamics. However, the models involving adding variance functions and time series correlation structure could not completely remove heterogeneity and autocorrelation, and the fi tting precision of the models was reduced. Therefore, from the point of view of application,we should take care to avoid setting up over-complex models. The HCB and CL dynamic models in our study may also be incorporated into stand growth and yield model systems in China.

文摘In this paper, an inner turret moored FPSO which works in the water of 320 m depth, is selected to study the socalled "passively-truncated + numerical-simulation" type of hybrid model testing technique while the tnmcated water depth is 160 m and the model scale ), = 80. Through the above investigations, some beneficial conclusions are presented.

文摘The essential features of the nonlinear stochastic models are positivity, dynamical consistency and boundedness. These features have a significant role in different fields of computational biology and many more. The aim of our paper,to achieve the comparison analysis of the stochastic susceptible, infected recovered epidemic model. The stochastic modelling is a realistic way to study the dynamics of compartmental modelling as compared to deterministic modelling. The effect of reproduction number has also observed in the stochastic susceptible, infected recovered epidemic model. For comparison analysis,we developed some explicit stochastic techniques, but they are the time-dependent techniques. The implicitly driven explicit technique has developed for the stochastic susceptible, infected recovered epidemic model. In the support, some theorems and graphical illustration has presented. Also, the time efficiency of this method makes it easy to find the solution of the stochastic system. The comparison with other techniques shows the efficacy and reliability of the designed technique.
文摘A numerical model has been developed to simulate the transport and fate of oil spilled at sea. The model is suitable for oil spill contingency planning.

文摘In this paper, to investigate the influence of soil inhomogeneity on the bending of circular thinplates on elastic foundations, the static problem of circular thin plates on Gibson elasticfoundation is solved using an iterative method based on the modified Vlasov model. Relevant conclusions that are meaningful toengineering practice are drawn.

文摘Epilepsy can be defined as a dysfunction of the brain network, and each type of epilepsy involves different brain-network changes that are implicated diffe rently in the control and propagation of interictal or ictal discharges.Gaining more detailed information on brain network alterations can help us to further understand the mechanisms of epilepsy and pave the way for brain network-based precise therapeutic approaches in clinical practice. An increasing number of advanced neuroimaging techniques and electrophysiological techniques such as diffusion tensor imaging-based fiber tra ctography, diffusion kurtosis imaging-based fiber tractography, fiber ball imagingbased tra ctography, electroencephalography, functional magnetic resonance imaging, magnetoencephalography, positron emission tomography, molecular imaging, and functional ultrasound imaging have been extensively used to delineate epileptic networks. In this review,we summarize the relevant neuroimaging and neuroelectrophysiological techniques for assessing structural and functional brain networks in patients with epilepsy, and extensively analyze the imaging mechanisms, advantages, limitations, and clinical application ranges of each technique.A greater focus on emerging advanced technologies, new data analysis software,a combination of multiple techniques, and the construction of personalized virtual epilepsy models can provide a theoretical basis to better understand the brain network mechanisms of epilepsy and make surgical decisions.
文摘Pneumonia is a highly transmissible disease in children.According to the World Health Organization(WHO),the most affected regions include south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.Worldwide,15%of pediatric deaths can be attributed to pneumonia.Computing techniques have a significant role in science, engineering, and many other fields. In this study,we focused on the efficiency of numerical techniques via computer programs. We studied the dynamics of the pneumonia-like infections of epidemic models using numerical techniques. We discuss two types of analysis:dynamical and numerical. The dynamical analysis included positivity, boundedness, local stability, reproduction number, and equilibria of the model. We also discusswell-known computing techniques including Euler,Runge Kutta, and non-standard finite difference(NSFD)for the model. The non-standard finite difference(NSFD)technique shows convergence to the true equilibrium points of the model for any time step size. However,Euler and Runge Kutta do not work well over large time intervals.Computing techniques are the suitable tool for crosschecking the theoretical analysis of the model.

文摘With the continuous development of the oblique photography technique, it has been used more and more widely in the field of geological disasters. It can quickly obtain the three-dimensional(3D) real scene model of dangerous mountainous areas under the premise of ensuring the safety of personnel while restoring the real geographic information as much as possible. However, geological disaster areas are often accompanied by many adverse factors such as cliffs and dense vegetation. Based on this, the paper introduced the flight line design of oblique photogrammetry, analyzed the multi-platform data fusion processing, studied the multi-period data dynamic evaluation technology and proposed the application methods of data acquisition, early warning, disaster assessment and decision management suitable for geological disaster identification through the analysis of actual cases, which will help geologists to plan and control geological work more scientifically and rationally, improve work efficiency and reduce the potential personnel safety hazards in the process of geological survey, to offer technical support to the application of oblique photogrammetry in geological disaster identification and decision making and provide the scientific basis for personal and property safety protection and later-stage geological disaster management in disaster areas.
文摘Delirium,a complex neurocognitive syndrome, frequently emerges following surgery, presenting diverse manifestations and considerable obstacles, especially among the elderly. This editorial delves into the intricate phenomenon of postoperative delirium(POD),shedding light on a study that explores POD in elderly individuals undergoing abdominal malignancy surgery. The study examines pathophysiology and predictive determinants, offering valuable insights into this challenging clinical scenario.Employing the synthetic minority oversampling technique,a predictive model is developed, incorporating critical risk factors such as comorbidity index, anesthesia grade, and surgical duration. There is an urgent need for accurate risk factor identification to mitigate POD incidence. While specific to elderly patients with abdominal malignancies, the findings contribute significantly to understanding delirium pathophysiology and prediction.Further research is warranted to establish standardized predictive for enhanced generalizability.
