The soil moisture retention capability of Chao soil and coastal saline Chao soil in Shandong and Zhejiang provinces were measured by pressure membrane method. The main factors influencing soil moisture retention capability were studied by the methods of correlation and path analyses. The results indicated that < 0.02mm physical clay and soil salt content were the main factors influencing soil moisture retention capability. At soil suction of 30-50 kpa, the soil salt content would be the dominant factor. 展开更多

[Objectives] The research aimed to optimize extraction process of fucoidan from Sargassum fusiforme( FSF) and study its moisturizing performance. [Methods]Extracting condition of FSF by cellulase hydrolysis-ultrasonic assisted extraction method was optimized. The influences of solvent p H,enzyme dosage,extraction temperature,cellulose hydrolysis time,ultrasonication time,and the ratio of material to liquid on FSF were investigated by single factor and orthogonal experiments. [Results] The optimum extraction conditions were as followings:p H,4. 5; enzyme dosage,1%; extraction temperature,40℃; cellulose hydrolysis time,2 h; ultrasonic time,15 min; and the ratio of material to liquid,1∶ 10( g∶ m L). Under the optimal condition,the extraction yield of FSF was 8. 50%,RSD = 2. 74%. The short-time hygroscopicity( within 8 h) of crude extract of fucoidan from S. fusiforme( CEFSF) was better than glycerin,butanediol,and sodium alginate,and the moisture retention capacity of 1% CEFSF aqueous solution was better than 1% butanediol or 1% sodium alginate,and was equal to 5% glycerin under relative humidity of 43% and 81%. The determination results of skin moisture content and transepidermal water loss rate( TEWL)showed that: 5% CEFSF solution had good moisturizing effect. [Conclusions]The research could provide certain reference for deep development of S. fusiforme. 展开更多

The ecological effects of eucalypt plantations(EPs) have garnered increasing attention.To understand their effect on soil quality at a landscape scale,and to determine whether soil quality parameters differ due to different stand types,we evaluated soil characteristics in twenty-one groups of EPs,Pinus massoniana Lamb.plantations(PMPs) and natural broadleaved forests(NBFs)across Guangdong Province,China.Both the physical characteristics of soil hydrology and the properties of soil nutrients in A and B horizons were determined.Results showed that,compared to NBFs,EPs and PMPs produced a shallower litter layer,reduced canopy density,higher soil bulk density,significantly lower total porosity,non-capillary porosity,total water volume,and hygroscopic water in the A horizon(P〈0.05).Moreover,total N,available K,and soil organic carbon(SOC) in EPs and PMPs were significantly lower than in NBFs.EPs and PMPs did not differ significantly in N,P or K content,but PMPs had significantly lower SOC and boron in the A horizon than EPs.Low p H and poor capacity to buffer acidification generally occurred in all cover types.Both EPs and PMPs showed a decline in soil properties relative to NBFs,but EPs and PMPs exhibited no significant difference.These results indicate that actions are needed to ameliorate the potential negative effects on soil quality in forestry plantations. 展开更多

In the present work,novel cellulose(C)/Antarctic krill protein(AKP)composite fbers with a multiple cross-linking network were prepared using glutaraldehyde(GA)as cross-linking agent to improve the fber's properties.The structure and properties of fbers were characterized by diferent techniques including FTIR,NMR,XRD,SAXS,SEM and electronic single yarn strength tester,etc.The results indicate that the reaction of GA with C and AKP separately forms a multiple cross-linking network.The C/AKP composite fbers with a multiple cross-linking network has stronger crystallization ability,higher orientation degree and deeper trench than C/AKP composite fbers.The breaking stress and wet strength of composite fbers reaches the maximum of 1.04 cN/dtex and 0.55 cN/dtex at GA content of 0.2 wt%.And the fatigue and tensile properties,hygroscopicity and moisture retention of C/AKP composite fbers has been improved.The development of C/AKP composite fbers with a multiple cross-linking network could be a promising candidate for biomedicine applications. 展开更多
