The Habo deposit is a typical porphyry Cu-Mo deposit in the Ailaoshan–Red River metallogenic belt.Ore minerals in the Habo deposit typically occur as veins in the monzonite porphyry.Zircon U-Pb dating suggests that the monzonite porphyry formed at 35.07±0.38 Ma.The monzonite porphyry is characterized by high SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),K_(2)O and Na_(2)O contents, with A/CNK ratios ranging from 0.97 to 1.02.All samples exhibit fractionated REE patterns, characterized by high(La/Yb)N ratios(9.4–13.6,average of 11.2).They show adakite-like geochemical features, high Sr concentrations(627–751 ppm, average of 700 ppm),low Y concentrations(15.13–16.86 ppm, average of 15.81 ppm)and high Sr/Y values(39.5–47.4,average of 44.3).These samples have high initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios(0.7074–0.7076)and negativeεNd(t)values(-5.1 to-3.7),whereas the zirconεHf(t)values range from-2.2 to+0.4,suggesting that the monzonite porphyry was derived from the partial melting of a thickened juvenile lower crust. The oxygen fugacity, calculated on the basis of the chemical composition of the amphiboles, shows?NNO values ranging from+1.65 to+2.16(average of 1.94)and lg(fO_(2))ranging from-12.72 to-11.99(average of-12.25),indicating that the monzonite porphyry has high oxygen fugacity.Zircons have high Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)ratios(29.29–164.24,average of 84.92),with high?FMQ values ranging from+0.50 to+1.51(average of 0.87)and high lg(fO_(2))values ranging from-14.72 to-12.85(average of-14.07),which also indicates that the oxygen fugacity of the magma was high. The dissolved water content of the Habo monzonite porphyry is 9.5–11.5 wt%,according to the geochemical characteristics,zircon-saturation thermometry(692–794°C)and the mineral phases(amphibole,no plagioclase)in the deep magma chamber.Combined with previous studies,we propose that the high oxygen fugacity and high water content of magma played key roles in controlling the formation of the Habo and other Cu-Mo-Au deposits in the Ailaoshan–Red River metallogenic belt. 展开更多

The Sanchahe quartz monzonite intrusion is situated in the middle segment of the North Qinling tectonic belt, Central China mainland, and consists chiefly of sanukitoid–like and granodioritic-monzogranitic rocks. The sanukitoid–like rocks are characterized by quartz monzonites, which display higher Mg#(55.0–59.0), and enrichments in Na2 O+K2 O(7.28–8.94 %), Ni(21-2312 ppm), Cr(56-4167 ppm), Sr(553-923 ppm), Ba(912-1355 ppm) and LREE((La/Yb)N =9.47–15.3), from negative to slightly positive Eu anomalies(δEu=+0.61 to +1.10), but also depletion in Nb, Ta and Ti. The granodioritic-monzogranitic rocks diaplay various Mg#of 6.00-53.0, high Na2 O+K2 O(7.20– 8.30%), Sr(455–1081 ppm) and(La/Yb)N(27.6–47.8), with positive Eu anomalies(δEu=1.03–1.57) and depleted Nb, Ta and Ti. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICPMS) zircon U-Pb isotopic dating reveals that the sanukitoid-like rocks were emplaced at two episodes of magmatism at 457±3 Ma and 431±2 Ma, respectively. The monzogranites were emplaced at 445±7Ma. Sanukitoid–like rocks have their εHf(t) values ranging from +0.3 to +15.1 with Hf–depleted mantle model ages of 445 to 1056 Ma, and the monzogranite shows its εHf(t) values ranging from 21.6 to +10.8 with Hf–depleted mantle model ages of 635 to 3183 Ma. Petrological, geochemical and zircon Lu –Hf isotopic features indicate that the magmatic precursor of sanukitoid–like rocks was derived from partial melting of the depleted mantle wedge materials that were metasomatized by fluids and melts related to subduction of oceanic slab, subsequently the sanukitoid magma ascended to crust level. This emplaced mantle magma caused partial melting of crustally metamorphosed sedimentary rocks, and mixing with the crustal magma, and suffered fractional crystallization, which lead to formations of quartz monzonites. However, the magmatic precursor of the granodioritic-monzogranitic rocks were derived from partial melting of subducted oceanic slab basalts. Integrated previous investigation for the adackitic rocks in the south of the intrusion, the Sanchahe intrusion signed that the North Qinling tectonic zone was developed in an early Paleozoic transitionally tectonic background from an island arc to back–arc. 展开更多

The porphyry copper belt in the Geza island arc in southwestern China is the only Indosinian porphyry copper metallogenic belt that has been discovered and evaluated so far.The Pulang porphyry copper deposit(also referred to as the Pulang deposit)in this area has proven copper reserves of 5.11×106 t.This deposit has been exploited on a large scale using advanced mining methods, exhibiting substantial economic benefit.Based on many research results of previous researchers and the authors’team, this study proposed the following key insights.(1)The Geza island arc was once regarded as an immature island arc with only andesites and quartz diorite porphyrites occurring. This understanding was overturned in this study.Acidic endmember components such as quartz monzonite porphyries and quartz monzonite porphyries have been identified in the Geza island arc,and the mineralization is mainly related to the magmatism of quartz monzonite porphyries.(2)Complete porphyry orebodies and large vein orebodies have developed in the Pulang deposit.Main orebody KT1 occurs in the transition area between the potassium silicate alteration zone of quartz monzonite porphyries and the sericite-quartz alteration zone. Most of them have developed in the potassium silicate alteration zone. The main orebody occurs as large lenses at the top of the hanging wall of rock bodies, with an engineering-controlled length of 1920 m and thickness of 32.5‒630.29 m(average:187.07 m).It has a copper grade of 0.21%-1.56%(average:0.42%)and proven copper resources of 5.11×10^(6) t,which are associated with 113 t of gold,1459 t of silver, and 170×10^(3) t of molybdenum.(3)Many studies on diagenetic and metallogenic chronology, isotopes, and fluid inclusions have been carried out for the Pulang deposit, including K-Ar/Ar-Ar dating of monominerals(e.g.,potassium feldspars, biotites, and amphiboles),zircon U-Pb dating, and molybdenite Re-Os dating. The results show that the porphyries in the Pulang deposit are composite plutons and can be classified into pre-mineralization quartz diorite porphyrites, quartz monzonite porphyries formed during the mineralization, and post-mineralization granite porphyries, which were formed at 223±3.7 Ma,218±4 Ma,and 207±3.9 Ma,respectively. The metallogenic age of the Pulang deposit is 213‒216 Ma.(4)The petrogeochemical characteristics show that the Pulang deposit has the characteristics of volcanic arc granites. The calculation results of trace element contents in zircons show that quartz monzonite porphyries and granite porphyries have higher oxygen fugacity. The isotopic tracing results show that the diagenetic and metallogenic materials were derived from mixed crust-and mantle-derived magmas. 展开更多

The quartz in the Haigou gold deposit contains a great abundance of three-phase CO2-NaCl-H2O and two-phase CO2-rich inclusions, which are associated with two-phase NaCl-H2O ones. The ore-forming fluids, which were rich in CO2, are classified into two types with two different sources: the high-salinity CO2-rich NaCl-H2O fluid derived from magmatic hydrothermal solution, and the low-salinity NaCl-H2O fluid from ancient meteoric water. The optimum conditions for gold mineralization are 220-300℃ for the temperature, 4-20 MPa for the fluid static pressure, 1-3 km for the mineralization depth, 2-7 w (NaCl)/10-2 for the fluid salinity, and 0.644 g/cm3 for the total density. The fluid was in a critical or supercritical state at the initial stage of mineralization, and it boiled and was unmixed with CO2 and NaCl-H2O in the climax of mineralization, leading to the decomposition of Au-chlorine complexes and the bulk precipitation of Au.The type, association, homogenization temperature and composition (CO2/H2O value etc.) are the microscopic criteria for distinguishing the auriferous quartz vein from the barren quartz 展开更多

The geochemical features of the monzonitic granite in Qimantage Hutouya deposit area,Qinghai,in respect to the mineralization, suggest that this granite belongs to weak peraluminous and high-k calc alkaline rock series. The REE of the samples show right slope with obvious LREE/HREE differentiation and negative Eu abnormity. The trace elements show enrichment of LILE( Rb,Th,U,La,Nd),and deleption of Ba,Sr,Nd,P,Ti. The Sr-Nb isotopic data indicate that the magma source is mainly aluminosilicate lower crust with a small amount of new crustal materials. The weighted mean zircon U-Pbage of the Hutouya monzonitic granite is 221±1.7 Ma,belonging to Late Triassic. The Hutouya monzonitic granite was formed in the tectonic setting of transition from compression to extension during Middle-Late Triassic. 展开更多

Major and accessory minerals from the Ibity granite, Tsarasaotra monzonitic and granite dykes, and Antsahakely granite of the Itremo domain in the Precambrian basement of Madagascar were characterized by using microscopic observations and chemical analyses with the aim of understanding their chemical characteristics and estimating the crystallization pressure and oxygen fugacity of their host rocks. Plagioclases in these rocks are albite and oligoclase, while alkali feldspars are orthoclase. For the phlogopite-micas, Fe-biotite and Li-phengite are common for the Ibity and Antsahakely granites, Mg-biotite is common for the Ibity granite and the Tsarasaotra monzonitic and granite dykes, and siderophyllite and Zinnwaldite are specific to the Ibity granite. Phlogopite-micas in the studied rocks are mainly primary, accessorily re-equilibrated, and rarely secondary. Calcic amphiboles distributed in the Magnesio-and Ferro-hornblende are identified in the Tsarasaotra monzonitic, whereas amphibole is rare and absent in the other rocks. Igneous titanite is observed in the Ibity granite and in the Tsarasaotra monzonitic rocks, which have similar compositions to some REE oxide-rich titanites. Concerning the Fe-Ti oxide phases, the rhombohedral and spinel/trifer tetroxide phases are found in both the Tsarasaotra monzonitic and the Tsarasaotra granite dyke, the trifer tetroxide and spinel + wüstite phases are found only in the Ibity granite, and the pseudobrookite + rhombohedral phase is found only in the Tsarasaotra granite dyke. The epidote mineral, rarely found in the Antsahakely granite, could be an indicator of metamorphism or hydrothermal activity involved during the emplacement of this rock. Aluminum in hornblende geobarometer gave pressure ranges of around 5 kbar for the Tsarasaotra monzonitic rocks. The Titanite geobarometer gave pressures of 2.5 - 3.2 kbar for the Ibity granite, 2.9 kbar for the Tsarasaotra monzonitic, and 7.1 kbar for the Antsahakely granite. Both amphibole and Fe-Ti oxide-base oxygen fugacity reveal high oxygen fugacity conditions for the Tsarasaotra monzonitic and granite dyke emplacements, which might have a relationship with a porphyritic environment. 展开更多

The study area is located in the west of Iran and in the north of Asadabad. This is the range between Eastern lengths of 00', 48° to 15', 48°, and northern latitudes of 45', 34° to 00', 35°. This range is limited from north to the asphalt road of Hamadan Qorveh, Sanandaj, and from the East and Southeast, to Asadabad of Kermanshah-Hamedan road, and from the West to Chahardoli plain and from the south to the plains and the town of Asadabad. According to the geological map of the study area, intrusive outcropping of diorite-gabbro of Almoqlaq, and quartz syenite is at Almoqlaq mountains. Intrusive rocks of the region, based on the total Alkali oxide, against silica rocks of study area fall within the quartz monzonite, gabbro, granodiorite, granite, and syenite between quartz and alkali granite. And granite in the study area (due to aluminum saturation index), is in the range of metaluminous, and metaluminous to peraluminous. Based on normalized spider diagram with the upper crust, the typical study area belongs to this model, and most of the elements are placed near or on standard line of 1. 展开更多

Single zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating and lithogeochemical studies have been performed on the Xianggou monzonitic granitic porphyry outcropped in the Ma’anqiao gold deposit.A weighted average U-Pb age of 242.0±0.8 Ma for Xianggou monzonitic porphyry has been obtained. This corresponds with the conclusions of previous studies indicating a syn-orogenic age (242±21 Ma) of the Qinling Orogenic Belt, suggesting that the formation of the Xianggou granite should be associated with the collisional event of the North China Plate and the Yangtze Plate in the Indosinian period. The Xianggou granite is characterized by the high silicon and alkali of high K calc-alkaline series granites. It is rich in Al (Al2O3=14.49%-15.61%) and Sr (457.10-630.82 ppm),poor in Y (【16 ppm) and HREE (Yb【0.45 ppm),and exhibits high ratios of Sr/Y (76.24-97.34) and (La/Yb)N (29.65-46.10),as well as strongly fractionated REE patterns. These geochemical characteristics suggest the Xianggou granite can be classified as C-type adakitic rock. The initial Sr isotope ratios for the Xianggou granite vary from 0.70642 to 0.70668,εNd(t) values from -4.54 to -3.98,and TDM values from 1152 Ma to 1220 Ma.The low εNd(t) and ISr and high TDM values,as well as Na2O/K2O ratios of the Xianggou granite are close to 1 (Na2O/K2O=0.95-1.10),indicating that it is not an I-type adakite formed by partial melting of the subducting oceanic crust, nor adakitic rock formed by melting of the underplated basaltic lower crust, but the product of partial melting of the nonunderplated basaltic thickened lower crust.Zircons from the Xianggou pluton have a homogeneous Hf isotopic composition with negative εHf(t) values (between -9.7 and -5.9,with an average of -6.9),indicating that the rock-forming materials were mostly extracted from the ancient crust, not from the depleted mantle. The Xianggou monzonitic granitic porphyry is rich in LILE and LREE and depleted in HSFE,HREE and Y;the composition of trace element and REE are similar to those of the syn-collisional granites. The geological and geochemical characteristics of the Xianggou granite reveal that it was a product of partial melting of the basaltic rocks from the thickened lower crust, triggered by continental collision, which occurred in the geodynamic background of continental-continental collision and shearing within the crust. The Xianggou granite was intruded in the compressive orogenic environment 242 Ma ago,but the gold mineralization occurred in the transitional environment of compression to extension around 170 Ma ago, lagging behind the intrusive age of the Xianggou granite by about 70 Ma.Meanwhile, the distribution of trace elements and REEs of the Xianggou monzonitic granitic porphyry is distinct from that of ores, suggesting the absence of direct genetic relationship between the Xianggou granite and gold mineralization. In contrast, the relatively high ore-forming elemental content of the Xianggou monzonitic granitic porphyry is due to the rock having experienced Au-bearing hydrothermal alteration. From the view of gold mineralization, considering the intrusive age, structural deformation,as well as alteration of the granite,we can conclude that the Xianggou pluton was a pre-ore-intrusion,whose intrusive age of 242 Ma constrains the lower time limit of gold metallogenesis.Following the intrusive event of the syn-collisional granitic porphyry and the intensively brittle-ductile shear deformation,large-scale fluid activity and gold mineralization took place. 展开更多
