Application of ARCS Motivation Model in CET-SET Examination

Based on Guangzhou Songtian Vocational College under the China Education Group,with the guidance of ARCS(attention,relevance,confidence,and satisfaction)motivational model,the scientific examination should not only be before the examination but also after the examination which can produce positive and negative factors for examinees.Through the data collected in the recent three years,it can be drawn that the CET-SET(College English Test-Spoken English Test)has a backwash effect on the examinees especially on the learning concepts,learning motivations,as well as guiding students to develop good oral learning strategies and habits.

The Influence of Second-Language Self-Orientation on Learning Motivation of Medium Level EFL Proficiency

EFL motivation is a hot research field of second language learners.In recent years,many researchers have focused on Dornyei’s second language self-system as a theoretical framework.The purpose of this study is to examine the predictive power of self-orientation of college medium level English learners to EFL learners’motivation,and to find ways to enhance their motivation and EFL proficiency.The subject of this paper is a medium level students of an ordinary college.Using linear regression analysis to collect data through questionnaires,it is found that the self-orientation of the subjects can explain the predictive effect on the actu⁃al learning behavior is not ideal.Ideal L2 self and L2 self-confidence are insufficient,and corresponding learning strategies are lacking,which limits self-directed ability to predict L2 motivation.

Status of Finance and Economics Students’Identity with the Civics of their Major Courses and the Path to Enhance the Teaching Effect

Under the requirements of curriculum education in the new era,the need to integrate professional courses in the Civic Education has become more urgent.In this paper,Attention,Relevance,Confidence,and Satisfaction(ARCS)motivation model from the perspective of students is used to explore the problems in the implementation of Civic Education in accounting courses from the perspective of students’learning needs and motivation as well as the essential needs of Civic Education in the curriculum.We also propose countermeasures and suggestions to meet the requirements of teachers and colleges and universities,to help in building a“student-centered”teaching mode of curriculum thinking and government.

ADVANCES IN DECISION ANALYSIS AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING FOR MANAGING LARGE-SCALE ENTERPRISES IN A VOLATILE WORLD: INTEGRATING BENEFITS, OPPORTUNITIES, COSTS AND RISKS (BOCR) WITH THE BUSINESS MOTIVATION MODEL (BMM)

Over the past few decades, innovations in Information and Communication Technologies （ICT） have led to a significant increase in the complexity of enterprise information systems. This has led to new challenges for enterprise architects, systems engineers, business managers and other decision makers who must cope with the complexity of business plans and processes （particularly automated engineering processes）. In order to better manage this complexity, the Business Rule Group （BRG） has put forth the Business Motivation Model （BMM）. The original BMM uses a SWOT （Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat） decision analysis approach. However, the SWOT framework contains significant limitations with respect to decision making and ICT risks, hampering the decision making ability of enterprise architects, business managers, engineers, and other decision makers. The AHP （Analytic Hierarchy Process） and ANP （Analytic Network Process） are among the most widely used decision making tools： they commonly implement a Benefit - Opportunity - Cost - Risk （BOCR） analysis to improve the effectiveness of business decision making. A new approach is put forth that replaces the original SWOT assessment with an ANP-based BOCR analysis. As well, the original BMM is modified and applied in a Component Architecture Framework （CAF）.

Saussure’s View of Language as a System of Arbitrary Signs

Saussure’s view that signs stand for their referents in an arbitrary fashion reflects a view of semiosis that separates sensory-bodily processes from cognitive ones.It remains Saussure’s most controversial assertion within semiotics,even though it is a perspective that is found as an axiom in various cognitive sciences.This paper revisits Saussurean arbitrariness theory,showing how it breaks down in various ways when considering concrete semiotics phenomena.Nevertheless,as a model of semiosis,it has provided a basis on which to discuss and research semiosis in real-world terms.
