An Affective-Motivational Interface for a Pedagogical Agent

This research is framed within the affective computing, which explains the importance of emotions in human cognition (decision making, perception, interaction and human intelligence). Applying this approach to a pedagogical agent is an essential part to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process of an intelligent learning system. This work focuses on the design of the inference engine that will give life to the interface, where the latter is represented by a pedagogical agent. The inference engine is based on an affective-motivational model. This model is implemented by using artificial intelligence technique called fuzzy cognitive maps.

Professor Zoltán D?rnyei is an influential researcher of L2 learning motivation. Since 1990 s, he put forward several important L2 learning motivational theories and made special contribution to this field. The Practice of Affective Filter Hypothesis in the Class

Since 1980's English has been established as the important objective in the field of English language teaching in the class,many teachers and experts have got considerable experience in the process of teaching. In English teaching,teachers pay attention to the proportion of students entering higher school and neglect students' affection. Krashen's theory of second language acquisition consists of five hypotheses; one of them is affective filter hypothesis,which contains three main factors-motivation self-confidence and anxiety. This research will analyze the influence of motivation self-confidence and anxiety and tent to find the better way to solve the influence of affective by the qualitative and quantitative perspectives. The result shows that affective filter hypothesis could have an influence on the students' achievements.

Study on Selection of Wheat Varieties for Noodle Production in Hebei Province and Factors Affecting the Processing Quality

[Objectives]To screen out the specific wheat varieties for noodle production in Hebei Province and analyze the factors affecting the processing quality of noodle.[Methods]The quality characteristics of grains,flour and noodle of major medium gluten wheat varieties in Hebei Province were detected and analyzed.[Results]The sensory score of noodle is significantly positively correlated with wet gluten content of medium gluten wheat flour,and extensile length,cohesiveness,resilience,elasticity,gumminess,chewiness and extensile distance of TPA of noodle,and is significantly negatively correlated with softening degree.TPA of noodle can indirectly reflect sensory quality of noodle.[Conclusions]Han 7086,Xingmai 4,Liangxing 66,Shiyou 17,Heng 5229 and Liangxing 99 are suitable for producing high-quality noodle,and they can be used as noodle-specific varieties for promoting in Hebei Province.

Research on the Relationship Between Learning Motivation and Neural Activity in the Learning Process of Instructional Video:A NIRS Study

As the intrinsic driving force to promote learner’s learning,learning motivation is one of the key factors that affect learning engagement and efficiency.In terms of optimizing instructional videos and strengthening learning effects,it is particularly important to understand the cognitive neural mechanism and influencing factors of the changes of learning motivation.By using the near-infrared spectrometer technology,the paper has collected the state of neural activity while learners were learning different instructional videos,and has analyzed the relationship between the learning motivation of instructional videos and the state of neural activity in the learning process from the angle of cognitive neuroscience.It is found that both the intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation of instructional videos will affect the state of neural activity in the learning process;the learning process will also affect the intensity of learning motivation,while the preparation of fine instructional videos will also cause the transfer of learning motivation.

The Influence of Second-Language Self-Orientation on Learning Motivation of Medium Level EFL Proficiency

EFL motivation is a hot research field of second language learners.In recent years,many researchers have focused on Dornyei’s second language self-system as a theoretical framework.The purpose of this study is to examine the predictive power of self-orientation of college medium level English learners to EFL learners’motivation,and to find ways to enhance their motivation and EFL proficiency.The subject of this paper is a medium level students of an ordinary college.Using linear regression analysis to collect data through questionnaires,it is found that the self-orientation of the subjects can explain the predictive effect on the actu⁃al learning behavior is not ideal.Ideal L2 self and L2 self-confidence are insufficient,and corresponding learning strategies are lacking,which limits self-directed ability to predict L2 motivation.
