Aiming at the problem of energy storage unit failure in the spring operating mechanism of low voltage circuit breakers(LVCBs).A fault diagnosis algorithm based on an improved Sparrow Search Algorithm(ISSA)optimized Backpropagation Neural Network(BPNN)is proposed to improve the operational safety of LVCB.Taking the 1.5kV/4000A/75kA LVCB as an example.According to the current operating characteristics of the energy storage motor, fault characteristics are extracted based on Empirical Wavelet Transform(EWT).Traditional BPNN has problems such as difficulty adjusting network weights and thresholds, being sensitive to initial weights, and quickly falling into local optimal solutions. The Sparrow Search Algorithm(SSA)with self-adjusting weight factors combined with bidirectional mutations is added to optimize the selection of BPNN hyperparameters. The results show that the ISSA-BPNN can accurately and quickly distinguish six conditions of motor voltage reduction:motor voltage increase, motor voltage decrease, energy storage spring stuck, transmission gear stuck, regular state and energy storage spring not locked. It is suitable for fault diagnosis and detection of the energy storage part of LVCB. 展开更多

The proposed method deals with the emerging technique called as Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) to diagnosis the stator faults of Induction Motors. The performance of the proposed method deals with the emerging technique called as Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) and the Zero-Sequence Voltage Component (ZSVC) to diagnose the stator faults of Induction Motors. The unalleviated study of the robustness of the industrial appliances is obligatory to verdict the fault of the machines at precipitate stages and thwart the machine from brutal damage. For all kinds of industry, a machine failure escorts to a diminution in production and cost increases. The Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) is referred as the most predominant way to diagnose the faults of electrical machines. Since the detailed analysis of the current spectrum, the method will portray the typical fault state. This paper aims to present dissimilar stator faults which are classified under electrical faults using MCSA and the comparison of simulation and hardware results. The magnitude of these fault harmonics analyzes in detail by means of Finite-Element Method (FEM). The anticipated method can effectively perceive the trivial changes too during the operation of the motor and it shows in the results. 展开更多

The effects of parasitic capacitance in induction motor system are unnoticed when it is fed from the AC line, but they are obvious when supplied directly from a PWM inverter. Consequently, many parasitic problems occur, such as motor to earth leakage current, bearing current, incoming line current distortion and uneven distribution of electrical stresses along the winding. On the basis of the uniform transmission line principle, a complete equivalent circuit of the PWM inverter fed motor system is presented, based on which all the capacitive parasitic problems mentioned above are analyzed and simulated by means of PSPICE. All the results are consistent with the existing ones. 展开更多

The speed regulation problem with only speed measurement is investigated in this paper for a permanent magnet direct current(DC)motor driven by a buck converter.By lumping all unknown matched/unmatched disturbances and uncertainties together, the traditional active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)approach provides an intuitive solution for the problem under consideration. However, for such a higher-order disturbed system, the increase of poles for the extended state observer(ESO)therein will lead to drastically growth of observer gains, which causes severe noise amplification. This paper aims to propose a new model-based disturbance rejection controller for the converter-driven DC motor system using output-feedback.Instead of estimating lumped disturbances directly,a new observer is constructed to estimate the desired steady state of control signal as well as errors between the real states and their desired steady-state responses.Thereafter,a controller with only speed measurement is proposed by utilizing the estimates. The performance of the proposed method is tested through experiments on dSPACE.It is further shown via numerical calculations and experimental results that the poles of the observer within the proposed control approach can be largely increased without significantly increasing magnitude of the observer gains. 展开更多

This paper is dealing with the problem of tracking control for uncertain flexible joint manipulator robots driven by brushless direct current motor(BDCM). Flexibility of joint in the manipulator constitutes one of the most important sources of uncertainties. In order to achieve high performance, all parts of the manipulator including actuator have been modeled. To cancel the tracking error, a hysteresis current controller and speed controllers have been developed. To evaluate the effectiveness of speed controllers, a comparative study between proportional integral(PI) and sliding mode controllers has been performed. Finally, simulation results carried out in the Matlab simulink environment demonstrate the high precision of sliding mode controller compared with PI controller in the presence of uncertainties of joint flexibility. 展开更多

Accurate model identification and fault detection are necessary for reliable motor control. Motor-characterizing parameters experience substantial changes due to aging, motor operating conditions, and faults. Consequently, motor parameters must be estimated accurately and reliably during operation. Based on enhanced model structures of electric motors that accommodate both normal and faulty modes, this paper introduces bias-corrected least-squares (LS) estimation algorithms that incorporate functions for correcting estimation bias, forgetting factors for capturing sudden faults, and recursive structures for efficient real-time implementation. Permanent magnet motors are used as a benchmark type for concrete algorithm development and evaluation. Algorithms are presented, their properties are established, and their accuracy and robustness are evaluated by simulation case studies under both normal operations and inter-turn winding faults. Implementation issues from different motor control schemes are also discussed. 展开更多
