Fine-Grained Emotion Prediction for Movie and Television scene images

For the task of content retrieval,analysis and generation of film and television scene images in the field of intelligent editing,fine-grained emotion recognition and prediction of images is of great significance.In this paper,the fusion of traditional perceptual features,art features and multi-channel deep learning features are used to reflect the emotion expression of different levels of the image.In addition,the integrated learning model with stacking architecture based on linear regression coefficient and sentiment correlations,which is called the LS-stacking model,is proposed according to the factor association between multi-dimensional emotions.The experimental results prove that the mixed feature and LS-stacking model can predict well on the 16 emotion categories of the self-built image dataset.This study improves the fine-grained recognition ability of image emotion by computers,which helps to increase the intelligence and automation degree of visual retrieval and post-production system.

Research on emotional space for movie and TV drama videos

Emotional space refers to a multi-dimensional emotional model that describes a group of subjective feelings or emotions. Since the existing discrete emotional space is mainly aimed at human’s primary emotions, it cannot describe the complex emotions evoked when watching movies. In order to solve this problem, an emotional fusion space for videos was constructed by selecting movies and TV dramas with rich emotional semantics as the research objects. Firstly, emotional words based on movie and TV drama videos are acquired and analyzed by using subjective evaluation and semantic analysis methods. Then, the emotional word vectors obtained from the above analysis are fused, reduced dimension by t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding(t-SNE) algorithm, and clustered by bisecting K-means clustering algorithm to get a discrete emotional space for movie and TV drama videos. This emotional fusion space can obtain different categories by changing the value of the emotion classification number without re-labeling and calculation.

Comedy Movies and Stock Returns of Locally Headquartered Companies:Evidence from China

We utilize data on comedy moviegoers from 18 cities in China to investigate the impact of the positive mood triggered by these movies on the stock returns of locally headquartered listed companies.We find that although these movies have no relation to investment itself,the sentiment triggered by these movies could affect the risk decision making of investors.Moreover,the stock returns of locally headquartered companies become significantly negative after comedy movies are screened in their respective cities.These results support the mood maintenance hypothesis.This research also provides new evidence for the presence of home bias in capital markets.

Sentiment Analysis Based on Performance of Linear Support Vector Machine and Multinomial Naïve Bayes Using Movie Reviews with Baseline Techniques

Movies are the better source of entertainment.Every year,a great percentage of movies are released.People comment on movies in the form of reviews after watching them.Since it is difficult to read all of the reviews for a movie,summarizing all of the reviews will help make this decision without wasting time in reading all of the reviews.Opinion mining also known as sentiment analysis is the process of extracting subjective information from textual data.Opinion mining involves identifying and extracting the opinions of individuals,which can be positive,neutral,or negative.The task of opinion mining also called sentiment analysis is performed to understand people’s emotions and attitudes in movie reviews.Movie reviews are an important source of opinion data because they provide insight into the general public’s opinions about a particular movie.The summary of all reviews can give a general idea about the movie.This study compares baseline techniques,Logistic Regression,Random Forest Classifier,Decision Tree,K-Nearest Neighbor,Gradient Boosting Classifier,and Passive Aggressive Classifier with Linear Support Vector Machines and Multinomial Naïve Bayes on the IMDB Dataset of 50K reviews and Sentiment Polarity Dataset Version 2.0.Before applying these classifiers,in pre-processing both datasets are cleaned,duplicate data is dropped and chat words are treated for better results.On the IMDB Dataset of 50K reviews,Linear Support Vector Machines achieve the highest accuracy of 89.48%,and after hyperparameter tuning,the Passive Aggressive Classifier achieves the highest accuracy of 90.27%,while Multinomial Nave Bayes achieves the highest accuracy of 70.69%and 71.04%after hyperparameter tuning on the Sentiment Polarity Dataset Version 2.0.This study highlights the importance of sentiment analysis as a tool for understanding the emotions and attitudes in movie reviews and predicts the performance of a movie based on the average sentiment of all the reviews.
