In the process of ion-adsorption rare earth ore leaching,the migration characteristics of the wetting front in multi-hole injection holes and the influence of wetting front intersection effect on the migration distanc...In the process of ion-adsorption rare earth ore leaching,the migration characteristics of the wetting front in multi-hole injection holes and the influence of wetting front intersection effect on the migration distance of wetting fronts are still unclear.Besides,wetting front migration distance and leaching time are usually required to optimize the leaching process.In this study,wetting front migration tests of ionadsorption rare earth ores during the multi-hole fluid injection(the spacing between injection holes was 10 cm,12 cm and 14 cm)and single-hole fluid injection were completed under the constant water head height.At the pre-intersection stage,the wetting front migration laws of ion-adsorption rare earth ores during the multi-hole fluid injection and single-hole fluid injection were identical.At the postintersection stage,the intersection accelerated the wetting front migration.By using the Darcy’s law,the intersection effect of wetting fronts during the multi-hole liquid injection was transformed into the water head height directly above the intersection.Finally,based on the Green-Ampt model,a wetting front migration model of ion-adsorption rare earth ores during the multi-hole unsaturated liquid injection was established.Error analysis results showed that the proposed model can accurately simulate the infiltration process under experimental conditions.The research results enrich the infiltration law and theory of ion-adsorption rare earth ores during the multi-hole liquid injection,and this study provides a scientific basis for optimizing the liquid injection well pattern parameters of ion-adsorption rare earth in situ leaching in the future.展开更多

Conventional surface seismic exploration in areas with complex surfaces such as karst landforms has been faced with the problem of poor excitation and reception conditions.RVSP(reverse vertical seismic profile)seismic...Conventional surface seismic exploration in areas with complex surfaces such as karst landforms has been faced with the problem of poor excitation and reception conditions.RVSP(reverse vertical seismic profile)seismic exploration adopts a geometry in which the sources are downhole and receivers are on the ground which can reduce the influence of complex surfaces on seismic wave propagation(to some extent).Through numerical simulations and real data analysis,it was noted that in areas with complex surfaces and large numbers of underground karst caves,seismic waves generated in shallow boreholes are easily affected by various surface and multiple waves as well as by scattering from karst bodies.Therefore,the quality of the reflected seismic data is extremely low.Also,it is difficult to improve the signal to noise ratio(SNR)with conventional noise filtering methods.However,when the source depth is increased,the quality of the reflected waves can be improved.This is exactly what the RVSP method accomplishes.Besides,for the RVSP method,due to its particular geometry,the apparent velocities of the reflected waves and most interference waves are quite different,which can help to filter most noise to further improve the SNR of the reflected signals.In this study,a 3 D-RVSP exploration study using 8-hole joint acquisition was conducted in a typical karst landform.The results show that the 3 D-RVSP method can obtain higher quality seismic data for complex surface conditions that have large numbers of underground karst caves.Furthermore,multi-hole joint acquisition for 3 D-RVSP has higher data collection efficiency and better uniformity of underground coverage.Therefore,in this study,38 faults were accurately revealed and at high resolution based on the 3 D-RVSP imaging results.展开更多

Meanwhile, effective metrical conditions were provided for experimental accuracy. The throttling model form was determined according to the theoretical throttling model of SO. Then the unknown parameters involved were identified by experimental data. A multi-hole vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) operating in stable single mode with a low threshold current was produced by introducing multi-leaf scallop holes on the top distributed Bragg-refleetor of...A multi-hole vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) operating in stable single mode with a low threshold current was produced by introducing multi-leaf scallop holes on the top distributed Bragg-refleetor of an oxidation- confined 850 nm VCSEL. The single-mode output power of 2.6 mW, threshold current of 0.6 mA, full width of half maximum lasing spectrum of less than 0.1 nm, side mode suppression ratio of 28.4 dB, and far-field divergence angle of about 10% are obtained. The effects of different hole depths on the optical characteristics are simulated and analysed, including far-field divergence, spectrum and lateral cavity mode. The single-mode performance of this multi-hole device is attributed to the large radiation loss from the inter hole spacing and the scattering loss at the bottom of the holes, particularly for higher order modes.展开更多
Based on the elementary solutions and new integral equations,a new analytical-numerical method is proposed to calculate the interacting stresses of multiple circular holes in an infinite elastic plate under both remot...Based on the elementary solutions and new integral equations,a new analytical-numerical method is proposed to calculate the interacting stresses of multiple circular holes in an infinite elastic plate under both remote stresses and arbitrarily distributed stresses applied to the circular boundaries.The validity of this new analytical-numerical method is verified by the analytical solution of the bi-harmonic stress function method,the numerical solution of the finite element method,and the analytical-numerical solutions of the series expansion and Laurent series methods.Some numerical examples are presented to investigate the effects of the hole geometry parameters(radii and relative positions)and loading conditions(remote stresses and surface stresses)on the interacting tangential stresses and interacting stress concentration factors(SCFs).The results show that whether the interference effect is shielding(k<1)or amplifying(k>1)depends on the relative orientation of holes(α)and remote stresses(σ^∞x,σ^∞y).When the maximum principal stress is aligned with the connecting line of two-hole centers andσ^∞y<0.5σ^∞x,the plate containing two circular holes has greater stability than that containing one circular hole,and the smaller circular hole has greater stability than the bigger one.This new method not only has a simple formulation and high accuracy,but also has an advantage of wide applications over common analytical methods and analytical-numerical methods in calculating the interacting stresses of a multi-hole problem under both remote and arbitrary surface stresses.展开更多
BACKGROUND Uncovered stents used for malignant obstructions in the biliary tree, especially in the hilar area, are prone to obstruction by tumor ingrowths. In comparison, however, covered stents may block bile duct br...BACKGROUND Uncovered stents used for malignant obstructions in the biliary tree, especially in the hilar area, are prone to obstruction by tumor ingrowths. In comparison, however, covered stents may block bile duct branches and are at risk of migration. We have developed a multi-hole self-expandable metallic stent (MHSEMS), with a hole in each cell, to prevent the obstruction of bile duct branches. In addition, the holes may prevent migration due to small ingrowths by reducing the tension of the membrane. CASE SUMMARY MHSEMS were placed in five patients with a malignant obstruction and one with post-endoscopic sphincterotomy bleeding. Each MHSEMS was successfully deployed in all cases. Patients showed no complications. Two cases were reviewed. Case 1: A 74-year-old male presented with jaundice and was diagnosed with a sigmoid colon cancer and giant liver metastases in the right liver lobe. A MHSEMS was placed in the left bile duct. The jaundice improved and peroral cholangioscopy was performed. Case 2: A 90-year-old female was admitted to hospital for jaundice and diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. A MHSEMS was placed in the left bile duct but after 8 months the stent became obstructed by tumor ingrowth. We treated the patient by ablation therapy. A silicone cover separated the internal bile duct from the surrounding tissue, protecting the latter from thermal injury during treatment by endobiliary ablation of the reobstruction. CONCLUSION A MHSEMS is a new choice of stent for biliary tract diseases.展开更多

In three-dimensional free-bending forming(3D-FBF),the tube is not overly constrained,and the plastic deformation behavior and forming quality of the bent tube are significantly affected by the critical structure of th...In three-dimensional free-bending forming(3D-FBF),the tube is not overly constrained,and the plastic deformation behavior and forming quality of the bent tube are significantly affected by the critical structure of the forming die lining.However,the effects of die-lining structural parameters on the tube quality,and a method to determine the combination of die-lining structural parameters is yet to be devised.This study aims to propose a new framework that allows one to understand the effects of various die-lining structural parameters on tube quality and to propose the best combination of die-lining structural parameters.First,finite-element modeling is performed to simulate 3D-FBF and examine the effects of individual die-lining structures on the quality of tube formation.The simulation results show that the deformation-zone length and die gap are positively correlated with the tube-section distortion and wall-thickness variation,whereas it shows an opposite trend with respect to the bending radius.Additionally,the lining chamfer radius of the bending die and the guide lining chamfer radius minimally affect the tube forming quality.Subsequently,the optimal die-lining structure is obtained using the response-surface method.The tube cross-sectional distortion rate reduced from 2.73 to 2.53%after the die lining is optimized.Additionally,the average inner-wall thickness reduced to 1.06 mm,whereas the average outer-wall thickness increased to 0.97 mm.This paper proposes a method for optimizing the forming-die-lining mechanism and for improving the tube forming quality in 3D-FBF.展开更多
In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and anti-pollu...In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and anti-pollution.At this point,aluminum syntactic foams(ASFs)are new-generation engineering composites and come into the upfront as a problem-solver.Owing to their features like low density,sufficient elongation,and perfect energy absorption ability,these advanced foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors nowadays.In this study,an industrial-oriented automatic die casting technology was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expanded clay(PEC).Micro evaluations(optical and FESEM)reveal that there is a homogenous particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other ASF studies.Additionally,T6 aging heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of aging on the compressive responses.Attained results show that PEC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous works.Besides,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the aging treatment and mechanical properties such as compression strength and plateau strength.展开更多
The effect of slow shot speed on externally solidified crystal(ESC),porosity and tensile property in a newly developed high-pressure die-cast Al-Si alloy was investigated by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron mi...The effect of slow shot speed on externally solidified crystal(ESC),porosity and tensile property in a newly developed high-pressure die-cast Al-Si alloy was investigated by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and laboratory computed tomography(CT).Results showed that the newly developed AlSi9MnMoV alloy exhibited improved mechanical properties when compared to the AlSi10MnMg alloy.The AlSi9MnMoV alloy,which was designed with trace multicomponent additions,displays a notable grain refining effect in comparison to the AlSi10MnMg alloy.Refining elements Ti,Zr,V,Nb,B promote heterogeneous nucleation and reduce the grain size of primaryα-Al.At a lower slow shot speed,the large ESCs are easier to form and gather,developing into the dendrite net and net-shrinkage.With an increase in slow shot speed,the size and number of ESCs and porosities significantly reduce.In addition,the distribution of ESCs is more dispersed and the net-shrinkage disappears.The tensile property is greatly improved by adopting a higher slow shot speed.The ultimate tensile strength is enhanced from 260.31 MPa to 290.31 MPa(increased by 11.52%),and the elongation is enhanced from 3.72%to 6.34%(increased by 70.52%).展开更多

Casting shrinkages at different positions of the blade which was considered nonlinear thermo-mechanical casting deformations were calculated. Based on the displacement iterative compensation method proposed, the optimized wax pattern die profile can be established. For a A356 alloy blade, substantial reduction in dimensional and shape tolerances was achieved with the developed die shape optimization system. Numerical simulation result obtained by the proposed method shows a good agreement with the result measured experimentally. After four times iterations, compared with the CAD model of turbine blade, the total form error decreases to 0.001 978 mm from the orevious 0.515 815 mm.展开更多
Gravity die casting(GC) and squeeze casting(SC) T4-treated Al-7.0Zn-2.5Mg-2.1Cu alloys were employed to investigate the microstructures,mechanical properties and low cycle fatigue(LCF) behavior.The results show that m...Gravity die casting(GC) and squeeze casting(SC) T4-treated Al-7.0Zn-2.5Mg-2.1Cu alloys were employed to investigate the microstructures,mechanical properties and low cycle fatigue(LCF) behavior.The results show that mechanical properties of SC specimens are significantly better than those of GC specimens due to less cast defects and smaller secondary dendrite arm spacing(SDAS).Excellent fatigue properties are obtained for the SC alloy compared with the GC alloy.GC and SC alloys both exhibit cyclic stabilization at low total strain amplitudes(less than 0.4%) and cyclic hardening at higher total strain amplitudes.The degree of cyclic hardening of SC samples is greater than that of GC samples.Fatigue cracks of GC samples dominantly initiate from shrinkage porosities and are easy to propagate along them,while the crack initiation sites for SC samples are slip bands,eutectic phases and inclusions at or near the free surface.展开更多

The single-mode performance of this multi-hole device is attributed to the large radiation loss from the inter hole spacing and the scattering loss at the bottom of the holes, particularly for higher order modes.

文摘Based on the elementary solutions and new integral equations,a new analytical-numerical method is proposed to calculate the interacting stresses of multiple circular holes in an infinite elastic plate under both remote stresses and arbitrarily distributed stresses applied to the circular boundaries.The validity of this new analytical-numerical method is verified by the analytical solution of the bi-harmonic stress function method,the numerical solution of the finite element method,and the analytical-numerical solutions of the series expansion and Laurent series methods.Some numerical examples are presented to investigate the effects of the hole geometry parameters(radii and relative positions)and loading conditions(remote stresses and surface stresses)on the interacting tangential stresses and interacting stress concentration factors(SCFs).The results show that whether the interference effect is shielding(k<1)or amplifying(k>1)depends on the relative orientation of holes(α)and remote stresses(σ^∞x,σ^∞y).When the maximum principal stress is aligned with the connecting line of two-hole centers andσ^∞y<0.5σ^∞x,the plate containing two circular holes has greater stability than that containing one circular hole,and the smaller circular hole has greater stability than the bigger one.This new method not only has a simple formulation and high accuracy,but also has an advantage of wide applications over common analytical methods and analytical-numerical methods in calculating the interacting stresses of a multi-hole problem under both remote and arbitrary surface stresses.
文摘BACKGROUND Uncovered stents used for malignant obstructions in the biliary tree, especially in the hilar area, are prone to obstruction by tumor ingrowths. In comparison, however, covered stents may block bile duct branches and are at risk of migration. We have developed a multi-hole self-expandable metallic stent (MHSEMS), with a hole in each cell, to prevent the obstruction of bile duct branches. In addition, the holes may prevent migration due to small ingrowths by reducing the tension of the membrane. CASE SUMMARY MHSEMS were placed in five patients with a malignant obstruction and one with post-endoscopic sphincterotomy bleeding. Each MHSEMS was successfully deployed in all cases. Patients showed no complications. Two cases were reviewed. Case 1: A 74-year-old male presented with jaundice and was diagnosed with a sigmoid colon cancer and giant liver metastases in the right liver lobe. A MHSEMS was placed in the left bile duct. The jaundice improved and peroral cholangioscopy was performed. Case 2: A 90-year-old female was admitted to hospital for jaundice and diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. A MHSEMS was placed in the left bile duct but after 8 months the stent became obstructed by tumor ingrowth. We treated the patient by ablation therapy. A silicone cover separated the internal bile duct from the surrounding tissue, protecting the latter from thermal injury during treatment by endobiliary ablation of the reobstruction. CONCLUSION A MHSEMS is a new choice of stent for biliary tract diseases.
文摘Combining real accelerating genetic algorithm(RAGA) with the optimization design of multi-hole and varied diameter pipe, the authors solved the problem of optimizing multi-dimensional parameters at the same time. In which the advanced convergence and easily to run into partial optimization were avoid. Applied the RAGA to solving the problem in the optimization design of fixed piping sprinkler irrigation system. The optimized parameters, such as diameters and the length of pipe were calculated and the result was reasonable, which provides as a reference to readers who work at related research.

文摘The paper presents a multi-holes shell with one hundred and eighty circular holes which has been used in engineering. Using a buckling module of the finite element analysis software, stability behavior and destroy mode along geometry parameters are studied. Results show the destroy mode depends on the geometry parameter greatly. Curves of buckling critical load and strength limited load along geometry parameters have a point of intersection. The point implies the multi-holes shell has different destroy mode and the value of point is change in geometry parameters.

文摘In order to effectively reduce energy consumption and increase range mile,new energy vehicles represented by Tesla have greatly aroused the application of integrated magnesium(Mg)alloy die casting technology in automobiles.Previously,the application of Mg alloys in automobiles,especially in automotive cockpit components,is quite extensive,while it has almost disappeared for a period of time due to its relatively high cost,causing a certain degree of information loss in the application technology of Mg alloy parts in automobiles.The rapid development of automotive technology has led to a higher requirement for the automotive components compared with those traditional one.Therefore,whatever the components themselves,or the Mg alloy materials and die casting process have to face an increasing challenge,needing to be upgraded.In addition,owing to its high integration characteristics,the application of Mg alloy die casting technology in large-sized and thin-walled automotive parts has inherent advantages and needs to be expanded urgently.Indeed,it necessitates exploring advance Mg alloys and new product structures and optimizing die casting processes.This article summarizes and analyzes the development status of thin-walled and large-sized die casting Mg alloy parts in passenger car cockpit and corresponding material selection methods,die casting processes as well as mold design techniques.Furthermore,this work will aid researchers in establishing a comprehensive understanding of the manufacture of thin-walled and large-sized die casting Mg alloy parts in automobile cockpit.It will also assist them in developing new Mg alloys with improved comprehensive performance and new processes to meet the high requirements for die casting automotive components.

文摘In three-dimensional free-bending forming(3D-FBF),the tube is not overly constrained,and the plastic deformation behavior and forming quality of the bent tube are significantly affected by the critical structure of the forming die lining.However,the effects of die-lining structural parameters on the tube quality,and a method to determine the combination of die-lining structural parameters is yet to be devised.This study aims to propose a new framework that allows one to understand the effects of various die-lining structural parameters on tube quality and to propose the best combination of die-lining structural parameters.First,finite-element modeling is performed to simulate 3D-FBF and examine the effects of individual die-lining structures on the quality of tube formation.The simulation results show that the deformation-zone length and die gap are positively correlated with the tube-section distortion and wall-thickness variation,whereas it shows an opposite trend with respect to the bending radius.Additionally,the lining chamfer radius of the bending die and the guide lining chamfer radius minimally affect the tube forming quality.Subsequently,the optimal die-lining structure is obtained using the response-surface method.The tube cross-sectional distortion rate reduced from 2.73 to 2.53%after the die lining is optimized.Additionally,the average inner-wall thickness reduced to 1.06 mm,whereas the average outer-wall thickness increased to 0.97 mm.This paper proposes a method for optimizing the forming-die-lining mechanism and for improving the tube forming quality in 3D-FBF.
文摘In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and anti-pollution.At this point,aluminum syntactic foams(ASFs)are new-generation engineering composites and come into the upfront as a problem-solver.Owing to their features like low density,sufficient elongation,and perfect energy absorption ability,these advanced foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors nowadays.In this study,an industrial-oriented automatic die casting technology was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expanded clay(PEC).Micro evaluations(optical and FESEM)reveal that there is a homogenous particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other ASF studies.Additionally,T6 aging heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of aging on the compressive responses.Attained results show that PEC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous works.Besides,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the aging treatment and mechanical properties such as compression strength and plateau strength.

文摘The effect of slow shot speed on externally solidified crystal(ESC),porosity and tensile property in a newly developed high-pressure die-cast Al-Si alloy was investigated by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and laboratory computed tomography(CT).Results showed that the newly developed AlSi9MnMoV alloy exhibited improved mechanical properties when compared to the AlSi10MnMg alloy.The AlSi9MnMoV alloy,which was designed with trace multicomponent additions,displays a notable grain refining effect in comparison to the AlSi10MnMg alloy.Refining elements Ti,Zr,V,Nb,B promote heterogeneous nucleation and reduce the grain size of primaryα-Al.At a lower slow shot speed,the large ESCs are easier to form and gather,developing into the dendrite net and net-shrinkage.With an increase in slow shot speed,the size and number of ESCs and porosities significantly reduce.In addition,the distribution of ESCs is more dispersed and the net-shrinkage disappears.The tensile property is greatly improved by adopting a higher slow shot speed.The ultimate tensile strength is enhanced from 260.31 MPa to 290.31 MPa(increased by 11.52%),and the elongation is enhanced from 3.72%to 6.34%(increased by 70.52%).

文摘Al and Mg alloy high pressure die castings(HPDC)are increasingly used in automotive industries.The microstructures in the castings have decisive effect on the casting mechanical properties,in which the microstructure characteristics are fundamental for the investigation of the microstructure-property relation.During the past decade,the microstructure characteristics of HPDC Al and Mg alloys,especially micro-pores andα-Fe,have been investigated from two-dimensional(2D)to threedimensional with X-ray micro-computed tomography(μ-CT).This paper provides an overview of the current understanding regarding the 3D characteristics and formation mechanisms of microstructures in HPDC alloys,their spatial distributions,and the impact on mechanical properties.Additionally,it outlines future research directions for the formation and control of heterogeneous microstructures in HPDC alloys.

文摘In order to conform to dimensional tolerances, an efficient numerical method, displacement iterative compensation method, based on finite element methodology (FEM) was presented for the wax pattern die profile design of turbine blades. Casting shrinkages at different positions of the blade which was considered nonlinear thermo-mechanical casting deformations were calculated. Based on the displacement iterative compensation method proposed, the optimized wax pattern die profile can be established. For a A356 alloy blade, substantial reduction in dimensional and shape tolerances was achieved with the developed die shape optimization system. Numerical simulation result obtained by the proposed method shows a good agreement with the result measured experimentally. After four times iterations, compared with the CAD model of turbine blade, the total form error decreases to 0.001 978 mm from the orevious 0.515 815 mm.

文摘Gravity die casting(GC) and squeeze casting(SC) T4-treated Al-7.0Zn-2.5Mg-2.1Cu alloys were employed to investigate the microstructures,mechanical properties and low cycle fatigue(LCF) behavior.The results show that mechanical properties of SC specimens are significantly better than those of GC specimens due to less cast defects and smaller secondary dendrite arm spacing(SDAS).Excellent fatigue properties are obtained for the SC alloy compared with the GC alloy.GC and SC alloys both exhibit cyclic stabilization at low total strain amplitudes(less than 0.4%) and cyclic hardening at higher total strain amplitudes.The degree of cyclic hardening of SC samples is greater than that of GC samples.Fatigue cracks of GC samples dominantly initiate from shrinkage porosities and are easy to propagate along them,while the crack initiation sites for SC samples are slip bands,eutectic phases and inclusions at or near the free surface.

文摘The oxide distribution and microstructure in longitudinal and transverse welding zones during the billet-to-billet extrusion process through porthole die were adequately investigated by means of finite element method,scanning electron microscopy and optical microscopy.The results indicate that the oxides exist at the interface between the matrix and transverse welding zone rather than longitudinal welding seam.The longitudinal welding zone reveals a darker band including the largest grain with irregular shape due to the abnormal grain growth under the heavy shear deformation and high temperature.The transverse welding zone consists of equiaxed recrystallized grains which are a little finer than those in the longitudinal welding seam.
