An Analysis of Reading Materials in New Senior English for China Based on Cultivation of Cultural Awareness —A Case Study of Compulsory Book 3

China is in the era of rapid development of information technology and the era of close cultural communication between countries, which requires English teaching to cultivate students’ cultural awareness, develop their intercultural communicative competence. Based on Byram’s checklist, this paper analyzes the cultural contents in reading materials of New Senior English for China (NSEFC) Compulsory Book 3. The research indicates that the textbook is rich in cultural content and the selected reading materials are authentic. However, there are two shortcomings: the uneven distribution of themes as well as cultural contents and the lack of cultural content comparison in the textbook. According to the findings, this paper provides some suggestions for textbook editors and English teachers, aiming at realizing the improvement and a better use of the textbook, so as to cultivate students’ cultural awareness.

A Study of Grammar Materials in an English Language Coursebook Used in China

The present study examined grammar materials in a widely-used L2 English textbook officially published for Year 9 pupils in Chinese EFL context, with the aim to investigate whether the grammar materials in this textbook are consistent with the recommended perspectives in second language acquisition(SLA) field and to explore the theories underpinning the selected grammar teaching materials. The results showed that the selected textbook lags behind the newer and more up-to-date theories, as it excludes authentic materials and aural input. On the other hand, it keeps up with what SLA research suggests by incorporating plentiful discourse level input materials.

A call for the reengineering of Iranian ESP textbooks

Having paramount importance in any ESP （English for Special Purpose） classroom, textbooks are known as one of the most visible parts of any ESP teaching program. Enjoying an undeniable position, essentially in the societies where English is used as the second or foreign language, such textbooks should have some features on which the needs and objectives of the ESP teaching program are met. Concerning such an importance, this paper intends to evaluate critically the current status of the Iranian ESP textbooks developed and published by The Organization for Research and Compiling University Textbooks in Humanities （SAMT）, as the main governmental organization in studying and compiling ESP university textbooks. Obtaining such an end, it tries： （1） to present the importance of ESP materials development; （2） to provide a clear picture of ESP and ESP materials development in Iran; （3） to introduce the essential drawbacks which such textbooks suffer from; and （4） to present some practical suggestions and solutions to tackle the significant problems and drawbacks of the current ESP textbooks practiced in the Iranian academic setting.

A Variety of Cultures Represented in English Language Textbooks： A Critical Study at Saudi University

Textbooks material is one of the important issues that are worthy to investigate in order to enrich student＇s engagement and interaction in EFL （English as a Foreign Language） classrooms. In this study, the author argues that textbooks materials used in academic institutions may well take a significant part in generating an active environment in EEL classrooms. It is believed that more opportunities will be created for students to be more involved, active, and able to understand the content being addressed more effectively. Yet, by looking at the textbooks being utilised （at a university context where the author teaches）, one can notice that student＇s culture （Eastern） is to a large extent missing in these textbooks, most of these books instead represent dominantly ＂Western＂ culture namely American and British cultures. This can deafly be depicted by topics discussed, pictures, clothing, names, and many other issues portrayed in these textbooks. This study is an attempt to challenge and problematize such domination of Western cultures portrayed in the content of English textbooks used in academic institutions not merely within Saudi Arabia but also extended to other countries and nations in the world.

A Review on the Compilation of College English Textbooks in China Based on Big Data

With the help of Big Data and Citespace software, this research makes a statistical analysis of the journals anddissertations on College English teaching and learning materials collected by CNKI from 2011 to 2020. This paper,based on the knowledge map drawn by the visualized analysis of literatures volume, authors, research institutions,and keywords clustering, analyzes the current research status and hotspots in the compilation of China’s CollegeEnglish textbooks.

职业教育新形态教材内容的设计与组织研究

针对职业教育新形态教材研究与开发中存在的不足,提出了职业教育新形态教材内容的设计与组织逻辑的内在要求,通过对理论知识与操作技能概念、情境性学习理论、图式理论、技能学习相关理论、职业道德及职业精神培育相关理论的分析探讨,形成了指导新形态教材内容的设计与组织的创新性依据。据此,设计了新形态教材内容的设计与组织模型,并从纸质教材的理论知识设计与组织、技能知识设计与组织、思政育人设计与组织、教材开发系统和数字资源系统等方面进行了可行性论证。

“大教材观”与教材强国建设

建设教材强国不仅要建设人民满意的高质量教材体系,还要明确教材理论的相对独立性。为实现教材强国建设理想,应树立起系统、联系、全面、动态的“大教材观”,关注教材建设的全环节、全过程、全要素及其内在联系,有效促进强国战略融合发展、学习型社会构建和教育改革的进一步深化。在“大教材观”视域下,当前的教材建设存在教材理论的话语区隔与自行其道、教材评价的孤立存在与标准虚设、教材类型发展的结构失衡与资源错配、教材使用过程的权责不清与通道不畅等问题,为实现强国理想,应以全场域的教材研究立场丰富中国教材话语体系,打造以时代新人培养为核心理念的教材供给体系,坚持行政主导构建立体均衡的教材格局,以及完善权责一致、多元协作的教材治理体系。

职业教育国家规划教材建设的政策演进及优化路向--基于出版的视域

职业教育作为与普通教育具有同等重要地位的教育类型,其教材建设体系是中国特色高质量教材体系的有机组成部分。21世纪以来,教育部先后组织了五轮职业教育国家规划教材申报和遴选工作。以这五轮职业教育国家规划教材建设政策为研究对象,发现其具有加强顶层设计、细化全流程管理,强化国家事权、加大课程思政力度,形成统筹建设、推进教材有机衔接的演进特点。职业教育教材建设过程中也存在教材编写落实课程思政有待加强、教材理论研究滞后实践、教材出版水平参差不齐等问题。出版单位作为职业教育教材体系建设中不可或缺的主体之一,应适应政策变化,着重从明确自身功能当好“把关人”角色、推动教材研究扮演“引领者”角色、促成多方联动发挥“黏合剂”功能、强化责任意识提升教材编修质量四个方面打造精品教材,从而为建设高质量教材体系做出贡献。

高质量发展背景下高职新形态教材开发与实践研究

高职新形态教材开发是教育高质量发展的重要主题。通过分析高职新形态教材开发设计要求及其特征,围绕职业教育类型教材、精品教材、新形态融媒体教材的高职新形态教材内涵特点,基于行动导向、能力本位、教学做合一、学生为中心、互联网+教育等教育教学理念,从教材的统筹规划、结构设计、内容选取、内容组织、教材形式等五个维度提出高职新形态教材开发实施对策。并以路桥专业《应用力学》新形态教材为例,从教材编写团队、编写理念、编写体例、内容来源与编排、形式选择等方面阐述教材开发实施全过程的实践应用。

沪科版初中物理新教材修订的整体思考

义务教育历史统编教材整体修订说明及教学建议

中学时代,历史教育是加强“培根铸魂”的有力手段,是形成中学生正确的历史观、民族观、国家观、文化观的有力手段。义务教育历史统编教材,无论是对于中国历史还是对于世界历史,都是按照通史体例编写的。历史是按照一定的时间和空间运行的,通史体例就遵循了这一规则。此次义务教育历史统编教材的修订,按照历史时代,把唯物史观、爱国主义、中华优秀传统文化、革命传统、党史教育以及国防教育、国家安全教育、中华民族共同体教育融入其中,在潜移默化中使初中学生接受马克思主义唯物史观感染,赋予其爱国主义情操,帮助其树立正确的历史观。

本文主要阐述了“课证融通”在新形态教材中的背景和意义,以及在宁夏职业技术学院机电一体化专业教材开发实践中的具体应用。通过课程与证书的融合,可以使教材内容更贴近实际职业技能要求,提高教材的实用性。同时,新形态教材的开发要符合实用性、适应性、创新性、融合性和引导性五个原则。在教材的组织与建设上,需要选择与课程教学紧密相关的教材内容,并建设丰富的教学资源和采用创新的教学方法。此外,教材还需要与职业能力要求进行对接,并构建评价体系进行评估和改进。文章最后指出,未来的职业教育新形态教材应注重跨学科整合,引入人工智能和虚拟现实技术,并持续更新和迭代教材内容。通过这些措施,可以推动职业教育的发展,提高教学质量,培养更适应未来职业需求的人才。

Pixelated non-volatile programmable photonic integrated circuits with 20-level intermediate states

Multi-level programmable photonic integrated circuits(PICs)and optical metasurfaces have gained widespread attention in many fields,such as neuromorphic photonics,opticalcommunications,and quantum information.In this paper,we propose pixelated programmable Si_(3)N_(4)PICs with record-high 20-level intermediate states at 785 nm wavelength.Such flexibility in phase or amplitude modulation is achieved by a programmable Sb_(2)S_(3)matrix,the footprint of whose elements can be as small as 1.2μm,limited only by the optical diffraction limit of anin-house developed pulsed laser writing system.We believe our work lays the foundation for laser-writing ultra-high-level(20 levels and even more)programmable photonic systems and metasurfaces based on phase change materials,which could catalyze diverse applications such as programmable neuromorphic photonics,biosensing,optical computing,photonic quantum computing,and reconfigurable metasurfaces.

地方高校关于教材选用质量评价的研究思考与初探

在新时代背景下,教材建设是赋能教育教学改革持续深化、高等教育创新发展的重要抓手。从检视教材价值导向及教材在人才培养目标的落实、提升教学质量、促进教材的创新和多样化等方面阐述了教材选用质量评价建立的意义。针对地方高校教材选用质量评价现状问题进行分析,通过完善评价机制,统筹协调各方评价资源,科学设定教材评价观测维度、指标和评价方法的与时俱进,以及加快推进数字化教材的评价进程等方面探索了教材选用质量评价构建的可行性实施路径,完善地方高校教材选用质量评价,实现以“评”促“建”,为教材建设提供有效的评价做支撑。

香港基础教育教材管理:编写·评审·选用·监察

Application of biochar-based materials in environmental remediation:from multi-level structures to specific devices

The development of biochar has triggered a hot-spot in various research fields including agriculture,energy,environment,and materials.Biochar-based materials provide a novel approach against environmental challenging issues.Considering the rapid development of biochar materials,this review serves as a valuable platform to summarize the recent progress on the theoretical investigation and engineering applications of biochar materials in environmental remediation.For a better understanding of the structure-application relationships,the structural properties of biochar from macroscopic and microscopic aspects are summarized.The multilevel structures including elements,phases,surface chemistry,and molecular are highlighted to elucidate the multi-functional properties of biochars.Sorption,catalysis,redox reaction,and biological activity of biochar are briefly illustrated,which influence the transport,transformation,and removal of organic and inorganic pollutants in the environments.According to the multi-level structures and structure-application relationships of biochar,specific biochar-based materials and devices have been designed for practical environmental application.The important progress on the functionalization and device of biochar-based materials,including magnetic biochars,2D and 3D biochar-based macrostructures,immobilized microorganism on biochar,and biochar-amended biofilters are highlighted.The environmental friendliness and sustainability of biochar-based materials,considering the whole cycle from synthesis to application,are evaluated.
