Every day,more and more data is being produced by the Internet of Things(IoT)applications.IoT data differ in amount,diversity,veracity,and velocity.Because of latency,various types of data handling in cloud computing ...Every day,more and more data is being produced by the Internet of Things(IoT)applications.IoT data differ in amount,diversity,veracity,and velocity.Because of latency,various types of data handling in cloud computing are not suitable for many time-sensitive applications.When users move from one site to another,mobility also adds to the latency.By placing computing close to IoT devices with mobility support,fog computing addresses these problems.An efficient Load Balancing Algorithm(LBA)improves user experience and Quality of Service(QoS).Classification of Request(CoR)based Resource Adaptive LBA is suggested in this research.This technique clusters fog nodes using an efficient K-means clustering algorithm and then uses a Decision Tree approach to categorize the request.The decision-making process for time-sensitive and delay-tolerable requests is facilitated by the classification of requests.LBA does the operation based on these classifications.The MobFogSim simulation program is utilized to assess how well the algorithm with mobility features performs.The outcome demonstrates that the LBA algorithm’s performance enhances the total system performance,which was attained by(90.8%).Using LBA,several metrics may be examined,including Response Time(RT),delay(d),Energy Consumption(EC),and latency.Through the on-demand provisioning of necessary resources to IoT users,our suggested LBA assures effective resource usage.展开更多
The diversity of software and hardware forces programmers to spend a great deal of time optimizing their source code,which often requires specific treatment for each platform.The problem becomes critical on embedded d...The diversity of software and hardware forces programmers to spend a great deal of time optimizing their source code,which often requires specific treatment for each platform.The problem becomes critical on embedded devices,where computational and memory resources are strictly constrained.Compilers play an essential role in deploying source code on a target device through the backend.In this work,a novel backend for the Open Neural Network Compiler(ONNC)is proposed,which exploits machine learning to optimize code for the ARM Cortex-M device.The backend requires minimal changes to Open Neural Network Exchange(ONNX)models.Several novel optimization techniques are also incorporated in the backend,such as quantizing the ONNX model’s weight and automatically tuning the dimensions of operators in computations.The performance of the proposed framework is evaluated for two applications:handwritten digit recognition on the Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology(MNIST)dataset and model,and image classification on the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research and 10(CIFAR-10)dataset with the AlexNet-Light model.The system achieves 98.90%and 90.55%accuracy for handwritten digit recognition and image classification,respectively.Furthermore,the proposed architecture is significantly more lightweight than other state-of-theart models in terms of both computation time and generated source code complexity.From the system perspective,this work provides a novel approach to deploying direct computations from the available ONNX models to target devices by optimizing compilers while maintaining high efficiency in accuracy performance.展开更多
Acoustic scene classification(ASC)is a method of recognizing and classifying environments that employ acoustic signals.Various ASC approaches based on deep learning have been developed,with convolutional neural networ...Acoustic scene classification(ASC)is a method of recognizing and classifying environments that employ acoustic signals.Various ASC approaches based on deep learning have been developed,with convolutional neural networks(CNNs)proving to be the most reliable and commonly utilized in ASC systems due to their suitability for constructing lightweight models.When using ASC systems in the real world,model complexity and device robustness are essential considerations.In this paper,we propose a two-pass mobile network for low-complexity classification of the acoustic scene,named TP-MobNet.With inverse residuals and linear bottlenecks,TPMobNet is based on MobileNetV2,and following mobile blocks,coordinate attention and two-pass fusion approaches are utilized.The log-range dependencies and precise position information in feature maps can be trained via coordinate attention.By capturing more diverse feature resolutions at the network’s end sides,two-pass fusions can also train generalization.Also,the model size is reduced by applying weight quantization to the trained model.By adding weight quantization to the trained model,the model size is also lowered.The TAU Urban Acoustic Scenes 2020 Mobile development set was used for all of the experiments.It has been confirmed that the proposed model,with a model size of 219.6 kB,achieves an accuracy of 73.94%.展开更多
The network switches in the data plane of Software Defined Networking (SDN) are empowered by an elementary process, in which enormous number of packets which resemble big volumes of data are classified into specific f...The network switches in the data plane of Software Defined Networking (SDN) are empowered by an elementary process, in which enormous number of packets which resemble big volumes of data are classified into specific flows by matching them against a set of dynamic rules. This basic process accelerates the processing of data, so that instead of processing singular packets repeatedly, corresponding actions are performed on corresponding flows of packets. In this paper, first, we address limitations on a typical packet classification algorithm like Tuple Space Search (TSS). Then, we present a set of different scenarios to parallelize it on different parallel processing platforms, including Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), clusters of Central Processing Units (CPUs), and hybrid clusters. Experimental results show that the hybrid cluster provides the best platform for parallelizing packet classification algorithms, which promises the average throughput rate of 4.2 Million packets per second (Mpps). That is, the hybrid cluster produced by the integration of Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA), Message Passing Interface (MPI), and OpenMP programming model could classify 0.24 million packets per second more than the GPU cluster scheme. Such a packet classifier satisfies the required processing speed in the programmable network systems that would be used to communicate big medical data.展开更多
