Three tectono-stratigraphic sequences can be identified according to detachment layers of Lower-Middle Triassic salt beds in the northern Sichuan Basin, i.e. the sub-salt sequence composed of Sinian to the Lower Triassic Feixianguan Formation, the salt sequence of the Lower Triassic Jialingjiang Formation and Mid-Triassic Leikoupou Formation, and the supra-salt sequence composed of continental clastics of the Upper-Triassic Xujiahe Formation, Jurassic and Cretaceous. A series of specific structural styles, such as intensively deformed belt of basement-involved imbricated thrust belt, basement-involved and salt-detached superimposed deformed belt, buried salt-related detached belt, duplex, piling triangle zone and pop-up, developed in the northern Sichuan Basin. The relatively thin salt beds, associated with the structural deformation of the northern Sichuan Basin, might act as a large decollement layer. The deformation mechanisms in the northern Sichuan Basin included regional compression and shortening, plastic flow and detachment, tectonic upwelling and erosion, gravitational sliding and spreading. The source rocks in the northern Sichuan Basin are strata underlying the salt layer, such as the Cambrian, Silurian and Permian. The structural deformation related to the Triassic salt controlled the styles of traps for hydrocarbon. The formation and development of hydrocarbon traps in the northern Sichuan Basin might have a bearing upon the Lower-Middle Triassic salt sequences which were favorable to the hydrocarbon accumulation and preservation. The salt layers in the Lower-Middle Triassic formed the main cap rocks and are favorable for the accumulation and preservation of hydrocarbon.展开更多

The 'comb-like' and 'toughlike' fold belts in eastern Sichuan are caused by multi-layer detachment. The duplex structure is the most important deformation style in the region, exhibiting different characteristics from typical detachment structures. Different deformation styles, scales, and shortenings resulting from independent deformations of various detachment systems would lead to the phenomenon whereby most of the topographical heights in the region do not correspond to the structural heights in depth. Based on systematic structural analysis and combined with practical oil/gas prospecting, four types of structural traps are described from eastern Sichuan Province, which are: detachment and thrust trap; detachment folding trap; fault-flat blocking trap; and detachment layer trap. Meticulous studies on the deformation and distribution of detachment layers in the eastern Sichuan Province will contribute to oil/gas prospecting and selection of potential regions of marine-origin oil/gas prospecting in South China.展开更多

Arcnate thrust-and-fold belts that protrude to the north are developed in the eastern segment. There are three rows of en echelon thrust-and-fold belts in the western segment. Thrust and fold structures of basement-involved styles are developed in the first row, and decollement fold structures are formed from the second row to the third row. In order to study the factors controlling the deformation of structures, sand-box experiments have been devised to simulate the evolution of plane and profile deformation. The planar simulation results indicate that the orthogonal compression coming from Bogeda Mountain and the oblique compression with an angle of 75° between the stress and the boundary originating from North Tianshan were responsible for the deformation differences between the eastern part and the western part. The Miquan-Uriimqi fault in the basement is the pre-existing condition for generating fragments from east to west. The profile simulation results show that the main factors controlling the deformation in the eastern part are related to the decollement of Jurassic coal beds alone, while those controlling the deformation in the western segment are related to both the Jurassic coal beds and the Eogene clay beds. The total amount of shortening from the Yaomoshan anticline to the Gumudi anticline in the eastern part is -19.57 km as estimated from the simulation results, and the shortening rate is about 36.46%; that from the Qingshuihe anticline to the Anjihai anticline in the western part is -22.01 km as estimated by the simulation results, with a shortening rate of about 32.48%. These estimated values obtained from the model results are very close to the values calculated by means of the balanced cross section.展开更多

One of the plugs was calcite and the other was dolomite with anhydrite nodules. The cyclic pressure exerted on the samples increased from 13.79 MPa to 27.58 MPa in six steps, and the variations in petrophysical properties of the two samples at different pressure loading and unloading steps were counted and analyzed. The results show that the calcite sample decreases in porosity and permeability with the increase of pressure, which is consistent with the results from compression and shear wave velocity tests. In the dolomite sample, the decreasing trend was not observed;fluctuations of compressive and shear velocities were observed during the loading stage, which may be due to different geometries of the pores and the porosity variation in the sample. Understanding the variation of carbonate petrophysical properties with pressure is helpful for optimizing reservoir development scheme.展开更多

The aim of this study is to achieve a better understanding of mineralization in the Xiangshan deposit through numerical simulation. In order to find the most favorable locations of mineralization and to help further mineral exploration, a coupling deforma- tion and fluid flow model has been established to describe the mineralization process. In this model, the simulation re- constructs the strata deformations under fields of compressive stress and thrust structure on the hanging wall of the Zou-Shi fault. Compared with practical information, the simulation results are consistent with the No. 51 exploration section of the western Xiangshan. In addition, on the basis of geological information provided by previous investigators, the model simulates the flow process of fluids under compressive stress fields. The result suggests that many tensional areas are formed, which can help the fluid flowing upward from deeper parts. The fluid is easy to concentrate on the breccia fractured zone between two volcanic layers, especially on the intersection parts with faults, resulting in the for- mation of favourable locations of mineralization. In addition, the model is significant in guiding the exploration of ura- nium deposits in the western Xiangshan and provides clues for further exploration of deposits.展开更多

The results show that the area is primarily dominated by a large box-shaped anticline, with steep limbs and a wide and gently-deformed core. The Mahaigaxiu and Jiulongshan anticlines are secondary folds controlled by secondary faults in the limbs of the box-shaped anticline. Whereas the Yuqia and the Northern Yuqia anticlines are secondary folds within the wide core of the box-shaped anticline. The geometry of the box-shaped anticline is mainly controlled by some high-angle reverse faults with certain right-lateral strike-slip components, displaying distinct positive flower structures in section view. Combining the sedimentary correlation and detrital apatite fission track analysis, we believe that the Yuqia-Jiulongshan region was a paleo-uplift that developed slightly in the early Cenozoic, resulting in the relatively thin Cenozoic strata. The intense deformation that shaped the present-day structural framework occurred in or after the sedimentary period of Shizigou Formation. The Yuqia – Jiulongshan paleo-uplift is adjacent to the Sainan depression that is rich in Lower-Middle Jurassic source rocks, and thus has high potential for future hydrocarbon exploration.展开更多

Here, we present the mechanism of molecular alignment and deformation. The CARS spectra and its FFT spectra of liquid NM show that the NO2 torsional mode couples with the CN symmetric stretching mode and that the NO2 group undergoes ultrafast structural deformation with a relaxation time of 195 fs. The frequency of the NO2 torsional mode in liquid NM(50.8±0.3 cm^-1) at room temperature is found. Our results prove the structural deformation of two groups in liquid NM molecule occur simultaneously in the intense laser field.展开更多
The structural evolution of tectonically deformed coals (TDC) with different deformational mechanisms and different deformational intensities are investigated in depth through X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis on 3...The structural evolution of tectonically deformed coals (TDC) with different deformational mechanisms and different deformational intensities are investigated in depth through X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis on 31 samples of different metamorphic grades (R : 0.7%-3.1%) collected from the Huaibei coalfield. The results indicated that there are different evolution characteristics between the ductile and brittle deformational coals with increasing of metamorphism and deformation. On the one hand, with the increase of metamorphism, the atomic plane spacing (d002) is decreasing at step velocity, the stacking of the BSU layer (Lc) is increasing at first and then decreasing, but the extension of the BSU layer (La) and the ratio of La/Lc are decreasing initially and then increasing. On the other hand, for the brittle deformational coal, d002 is increasing initially and then decreasing, which causes an inversion of the variation of Lc and La under the lower-middle or higher-middle metamorphism grade when the deformational intensity was increasing. In contrast, in the ductile deformational coals, d002 decreased initially and then increased, and the value of L~ decreased with the increase of deformational intensity. But the value of La increased under the lower-middle metamorphism grade and increased at first and then decreased under the higher-middle metamorphism grade. We conclude that the degradation and polycondensation of TDC macromolecular structure can be obviously impacted during the ductile deformational process, because the increase and accumulation of unit dislocation perhaps transforms the stress into strain energy. Meanwhile, the brittle deformation can transform the stress into frictional heat energy, and promote the metamorphism and degradation as well. It can be concluded that deformation is more important than metamorphism to the differential evolution of the ductile and brittle deformational coals.展开更多

文摘We investigated the asymmetric tension-compression(T-C)behavior of ZA21 bars with bimodal and uniform structures through axial tension and compression tests. The results show that the yield strengths of bars having bimodal structure are 206.42 and 140.28 MPa under tension and compression, respectively, which are higher than those of bars having uniform structure with tensile and compressive yield strength of 183.71 and 102.86 MPa,respectively.Prismatic slip and extension twinning under tension and basal slip and extension twinning under compression dominate the yield behavior and induce the T-C asymmetry. However, due to the basal slip activated in fine grains under tension and the inhibition of extension twinning by fine grains under compression, the bimodal structure possesses a lower T-C asymmetry(0.68)compared to the uniform structure(0.56).Multiple extension twins occur during deformation, and the selection of twin variants depends on the Schmid factor of the six variants activated by parent grains.Furthermore, the strengthening effect of the bimodal structure depends on the grain size and the ratio of coarse and fine grains.

文摘The traces left by earthquakes in lacustrine sediments are studied to determine the occurrence of ancient earthquakes by identifying seismically induced soft-sediment deformation structures(SSDS).Dating can help reconstruct the relative frequency of earthquakes.Identifying seismically induced seismites, which carry abundant seismic information from numerous SSDS,is both critical and challenging.Studying the deformation mechanism of SSDS and learning about the common criteria of seismically induced SSDS improve the identification of earthquake triggers. With better research into SSDS,seismic events can be effectively captured, and temporal constraints can be carried out by 14C dating and optically stimulated luminescence(OSL)dating to identify and date the occurrence of ancient earthquakes. The present contribution primarily addresses the meaning and mechanism of SSDS and their relationship with earthquake magnitude as well as the common criteria of the SSDS induced by earthquakes.

文摘A kind of micro/nanostructured 2205 duplex stainless steel(DSS)with uniform distribution of nanocrystals was prepared via aluminothermic reaction method. The analysis of stress-strain curve showed that the fracture strength and elongation of the specimen were 946 MPa and 24.7%,respectively.At present, the research on microstructure of bimodal 2205 DSS at room temperature(RT)mainly depended on scanning electron microscope(SEM)observation after loading experiments. The test result indicates that there are two different yield stages in stress-strain curve of specimen during tensile process. The microstructure of duplex bimodal structured stainless steel consists of two pairs of soft hard regions and phases.By studying deformation mechanism of bimodal structured stainless steel, the interaction between soft phase and hard phase are discussed. The principle of composition design and microstructure control of typical duplex stainless steel is obtained, which provides an important research basis for designing of advanced duplex stainless steel.
文摘Because of urbanization, land resources in China’s cities has become increasingly scarce. Therefore, modern buildings are becoming taller, making high-rise steel frame structures the new favorite of the construction industry. However, the construction of high-rise steel frame structures requires advanced technology. If the construction technology is effectively implemented and the welding techniques of the construction personnel align with the requirements for high-rise steel frame structures,it can help mitigate deformations in the steel structure, thus preserving the overall construction quality of high-rise steel frame structures. To enhance the applicability of steel frame structures in high-rise buildings, this paper focuses on analyzing the optimization path for the construction process of high-rise steel frame structures. It introduces a tailored approach to control welding-induced deformations in steel frame structures, aiming to make a valuable contribution to the advancement of China’s construction industry.

文摘The Triassic Jialingjiang Formation and Leikoupo Formation are characterized by thick salt layers. The salt layers in the Lower-Middle Triassic formed the main cap rocks and are favorable for the accumulation and preservation of hydrocarbon.

文摘Detachment structures occur widely in the crust, and it is the commonest and most important deformation type developed in the region between orogenic belts and basins. Meticulous studies on the deformation and distribution of detachment layers in the eastern Sichuan Province will contribute to oil/gas prospecting and selection of potential regions of marine-origin oil/gas prospecting in South China.

文摘Hydrocarbon preservation conditions have restricted exploration in the Middle and Upper Yangtze, and structural deformation and fluid activity have played an important role in the origin and preservation of oil and gas.In order to study that how the deformation and fluid activity impact the hydrocarbon preservation,we did some field work and collected some calcite vein samples for analysis of deformation periods using acoustic emission and fluid inclusions.Combined with previous studies, the strata distribution, tectonic deformation and fluid characteristics show that there are three structural belts in the study area:East Sichuan,West Hunan and Hubei and the northwestern periphery of the Xuefeng Uplift, and that their tectonic deformation style, fluid inclusion characteristics and hydrocarbon preservation are different. The breakthrough thrusts were well developed in the anticline core, and a lot of hydrocarbon inclusions were found in calcite veins around the thrusts in East Sichuan. The breakthrough thrusts were only in the syncline core in West Hunan and Hubei, and the brine inclusions did not contain hydrocarbon in calcite veins around the thrusts. Many breakthrough thrusts were found in the northwestern periphery of the Xuefeng Uplift, where there were only rare calcite veins. The deformation and hydrocarbon inclusion indicated that when there was no fault breakthrough in East Sichuan, the Paleozoic covered by the Triassic regional cap was good for hydrocarbon preservation. The strata above the Lower Paleozoic were denuded, and lots of brine inclusions and deep infiltration of surface water were found in the West Hunan and Hubei,so only the part of the syncline area with a well developed Silurian regional cap had good preservation conditions.Intense tectonic movements and denudation were widely developed in the northwestern periphery of the Xuefeng Uplift, where there were only paleo-reservoirs,non-hydrocarbon fluid activity and poor preservation conditions.

文摘According to the differences of structural deformation characteristics, the southern margin of the Junggar basin can be divided into two segments from east to west. These estimated values obtained from the model results are very close to the values calculated by means of the balanced cross section.

文摘To examine the effect of pressure on pore structure and petrophysical properties of carbonate rock, the porosity, permeability, CT scanning, SEM and elastic wave velocity of two carbonate core plug samples from an oilfield in Southwest Iran were analyzed under cyclic pressure. Understanding the variation of carbonate petrophysical properties with pressure is helpful for optimizing reservoir development scheme.

文摘The Xiangshan deposit in Jiangxi province is one of the most important uranium deposits in China. In addition, the model is significant in guiding the exploration of ura- nium deposits in the western Xiangshan and provides clues for further exploration of deposits.

文摘Based on field geological survey, interpretation of seismic reflection profile and thermochronology dating, this paper systematically studied the structural deformation of the Yuqia-Jiulongshan region in northern Qaidam Basin during the Cenozoic. The Yuqia – Jiulongshan paleo-uplift is adjacent to the Sainan depression that is rich in Lower-Middle Jurassic source rocks, and thus has high potential for future hydrocarbon exploration.

文摘Vertical differential structural deformation(VDSD),one of the most significant structural characteristics of strike-slip fault zones(SSFZs)in the Shunbei area,is crucial for understanding deformation in the SSFZ and its hydrocarbon accumulation significance.Based on drilling data and high-precision 3-D seismic data,we analyzed the geometric and kinematic characteristics of the SSFZs in the Shunbei area.Coupled with the stratification of the rock mechanism, the structural deformations of these SSFZs in different formations were differentiated and divided into four deformation layers.According to comprehensive structural interpretations and comparisons, three integrated 3-D structural models could describe the VDSD of these SSFZs.The time-space coupling of the material basis(rock mechanism stratification),changing dynamic conditions(e.g.,changing stress-strain states),and special deformation mechanism of the en echelon normal fault array uniformly controlled the formation of the VDSD in the SSFZs of the Shunbei area. The VDSD of the SSFZs in this area controlled the entire hydrocarbon accumulation process.Multi-stage structural superimposing deformation influenced the hydrocarbon migration, accumulation, distribution, preservation, and secondary adjustments.

文摘The structural deformation of NO2 group induced by an intense femtosecond laser field of liquid nitromethane(NM)molecule is detected by time-and frequency-resolved coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy(CARS) technique with the intense pump laser. Our results prove the structural deformation of two groups in liquid NM molecule occur simultaneously in the intense laser field.

文摘The structural evolution of tectonically deformed coals (TDC) with different deformational mechanisms and different deformational intensities are investigated in depth through X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis on 31 samples of different metamorphic grades (R : 0.7%-3.1%) collected from the Huaibei coalfield. It can be concluded that deformation is more important than metamorphism to the differential evolution of the ductile and brittle deformational coals.
