For the 2^1S0 meson nonet, K* (1460) may be the observed state of the 2^1S0 isodoublet with a mass of 1400 MeV and the mass of w(1420) is 1412 MeV. For the 2^3S1 meson nonet, K*(1410) seems too light to be the 2^3S1 ns member. The fact that the agreement between the present findings and those given by experiments and other different approaches is satisfactory implies that the assignments in this paper may be reasonable.展开更多

By using the multiplet relative location approach and wave correlation correction, the aftershock cluster of the Shunyi earthquake occurred on December 16, 1996 was relocated. Using the ground-state mass of ^(52)Ni and two-proton decay energy of ^(54)Zn,the ground-state mass excess of ^(54)Zn is deduced to be-6504(85)keV.This value is about 2 MeV lower than the prediction of the quadratic f...Using the ground-state mass of ^(52)Ni and two-proton decay energy of ^(54)Zn,the ground-state mass excess of ^(54)Zn is deduced to be-6504(85)keV.This value is about 2 MeV lower than the prediction of the quadratic form of the isobaric multiplet mass equation(IMME).A cubic fit to the existing mass data of the A=54,T=3 isospin multiplet yields a surprisingly large d coefficient of IMME,i.e.,d=18.6(27),being 6.9σdeviated from zero,and the resultant|b/c|ratio significantly deviates from the systematics.This phenomenon is analyzed in this study,and we conclude that the breakdown of the quadratic form of IMME could be likely due to the mis-assignment of the T=3 isobaric analog state(IAS)in the T_(Z)=1 nucleus ^(54)Fe or extremely strong isospin mixing.展开更多
Manganese-based perovskite is popular for research on ferromagnetic materials,and its spectroscopic studies are essential for understanding its electronic structure,dielectric,electrical,and magnetic properties.In thi...Manganese-based perovskite is popular for research on ferromagnetic materials,and its spectroscopic studies are essential for understanding its electronic structure,dielectric,electrical,and magnetic properties.In this paper,the M-edge spectra of La ions and the M-edge,L-edge,and K-edge spectra of Mn ions in LaMnO3 are calculated by considering both the free-ion multiplet calculation and the crystal field effects.We analyze spectral shapes,identify peak origins,and estimate the oxidation states of La and Mn ions in LaMnO3 theoretically.It is concluded that La ions in LaMnO3 predominantly exist in the trivalent state,while Mn ions exist primarily in the trivalent state with a minor presence of tetravalent ions.Furthermore,the calculated spectra are in better conformity with the experimental spectra when the proportion of Mn3+is 90%and Mn4+is 10%.This article enhances our comprehension of the oxidation states of La and Mn within the crystal and also provides a valuable guidance for spectroscopic investigations of other manganates.展开更多
This paper focuses on the impact of past mining on public safety.It emphasizes the need to understand the induced seismic hazard and consequently improve the post-mining management procedures and legislations,as many ...This paper focuses on the impact of past mining on public safety.It emphasizes the need to understand the induced seismic hazard and consequently improve the post-mining management procedures and legislations,as many mining sites are located in proximity to populated areas.Due to many challenges and complexity of the post-mining environments,induced seismic hazard nowadays remains largely unknown.However,the return experience of several post-mining sites in recent decades have shown us that the mine flooding and/or degradation of mining works can lead to the stress perturbations,inducing the seismicity and the reactivation of the surrounding geological faults.Hence,it is important to advance the seismic monitor-ing and research of seismicity in flooded post-mining districts.As the number of mine closures worldwide is rising,it can be expected that flooding induced reactivation of the surrounding faults becomes a more often observed phenomenon.We present in this paper the experience of the abandoned flooded coal mine of Gardanne in France,which has been experiencing post-mining seismicity problems since its closure in 2010.We show the results of a recent study of seismic multiplets and clustering of seismic events,as well as their spatio-temporal activity compared to meteorological conditions.These results provide us new insights as well as lead to raising new questions on seismic sources and triggering mechanisms.展开更多
