Improved artificial bee colony algorithm with mutual learning

The recently invented artificial bee colony （ABC） al- gorithm is an optimization algorithm based on swarm intelligence that has been used to solve many kinds of numerical function optimization problems. It performs well in most cases, however, there still exists an insufficiency in the ABC algorithm that ignores the fitness of related pairs of individuals in the mechanism of find- ing a neighboring food source. This paper presents an improved ABC algorithm with mutual learning （MutualABC） that adjusts the produced candidate food source with the higher fitness between two individuals selected by a mutual learning factor. The perfor- mance of the improved MutualABC algorithm is tested on a set of benchmark functions and compared with the basic ABC algo- rithm and some classical versions of improved ABC algorithms. The experimental results show that the MutualABC algorithm with appropriate parameters outperforms other ABC algorithms in most experiments.

A Short Text Classification Model Based on Chinese Part-of-Speech Information and Mutual Learning

Short text classification is one of the common tasks in natural language processing.Short text contains less information,and there is still much room for improvement in the performance of short text classification models.This paper proposes a new short text classification model ML-BERT based on the idea of mutual learning.ML-BERT includes a BERT that only uses word vector informa-tion and a BERT that fuses word information and part-of-speech information and introduces transmissionflag to control the information transfer between the two BERTs to simulate the mutual learning process between the two models.Experi-mental results show that the ML-BERT model obtains a MAF1 score of 93.79%on the THUCNews dataset.Compared with the representative models Text-CNN,Text-RNN and BERT,the MAF1 score improves by 8.11%,6.69%and 1.69%,respectively.

Research on Compatible Mode of Self-directed Learning and Cooperative Learning in Blended Teaching of Basic English Course

In the information age,blended teaching,no matter online or offline,has become the mainstream of college teaching reform.In this teaching model,self-directed learning and cooperative learning are the two main learning approaches.On the online teaching platform,students mainly learn knowledge-based content by self-directed learning,while practising their language skills by cooperative learning in flipped classroom activities.On one hand,it advocates student-centered strategy so as to improve students autonomous learning ability;on the other hand,teachers serve as a guide to organize the classroom activities;meanwhile,they give timely feedback to students in order to promote students’learning ability.In blended teaching model,this mutually compatible and reinforcing model of self-directed learning and cooperative learning is undoubtedly helpful to improve the teaching efficiency.

Museums’building of international communication capacity has become a hot topic in museology.Featuring unique resources of ancient Shu culture,Sanxingdui Museum is of great value in international communication.This paper first reviews previous studies in this area,then analyzes the efforts made by present-day museums in China and abroad to raise their international profile,and later probes into the current status of Sanxingdui Museum’s building of international communication capacity.On this basis,this paper summarizes the countermeasures Sanxingdui Museum took and proposes suggestions regarding the building of its international communication capacity.Sanxingdui Museum should work harder to improve its overseas exhibitions,protect and study its cultural relics,advance the application for World Heritage status,and promote the Sanxingdui brand via multimedia.

What Information Gap Activities can Teach Us in TESOL

Starting from presenting and analyzing some information gap activities during the previous teaching experience, this article has inferred the major roles of information gap activities. Some strategies to implement the information gap activities are also recommended together with the functions of the instructors via these activities. What information gap activities can teach us in TESOL （teaching English for speakers of other languages） is that information gap activities contribute to setting up a climate of a mutual autonomous learning style both for the learners and the instructors, and these activities activate a diversity in the learning atmosphere.

Conceptual Evolution and Paradigm Reconstruction:An Integrated Framework for International Communication

The tracing of historical origins and disciplinary trajectories enables us to reveal that international communication,as a specific manifestation of global information flow and media evolution,is primarily influenced by the interplay of three societal factors:the roots of political conflicts,the catalytic role of economic and technological developments,and the reshaping of values into distinct blocs.These factors intertwine with the awareness of external exploration across different historical periods.Traditional knowledge production in international communication has evolved along two main lines:political economy and cultural studies.These paths have given rise to three major paradigmspropaganda,global communication,and intercultural communicationeach stemming from differing core units of analysis.Together,they have constructed a multifaceted interpretive framework for understanding self-identity and the relationship between self and the external world in the information age since the beginning of the 20th century.This paper argues that on the new journey in the new era,efforts should be made to weaken the attributes of hierarchical control and power conflict derived from the practices of Western industrial societies and the Cold War.In the context of an era marked by the fusion ofnew subjects,new networks,new media,and new values,"there is a need to return to the original purpose of communication:the sharing of information and the collective responsibility it entails.This will enable the construction of a new paradigm driven by Chinese modernization for the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations.Such a paradigm aims to unify humanity around shared values,foster the building of a human community with a shared future,and create new forms ofhuman advancement.

In April 2019,the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooper-ation Mechanism(BRITACOM)was inaugurated in the spirit of peace and cooper-ation,openness and inclusiveness,mutual learning,and mutual benefit,to ensure unimpeded cross-border capital flow and facilitate trade and investment through tax administration cooperation.During the past four years,it has produced promising outcomes in tax cooperation,capacity building and mutual learning.Going forward,the BRITACOM will carry out practical cooperation of a wider scope,in broader ar-eas,and at elevated level,to revive the spirit of the Silk Road in the new era.

Historically,Chinese religions have been the product of continuous exchange with and mutual learning from other religions and civilizations.Religions from other areas of the world,especially Buddhism from India,Christianity from the Mediterranean,and Islam from Arabia have been localized and inculturated by absorbing elements of Chinese culture,achieving new Chinese forms through creative transformation and innovative development while enriching the diversity and enhancing the flourishing of Chinese culture.To continue to support the inculturation of religions in China and to foster dialogue between them and Chinese culture is to build China as a cultural community with diverse religions.It is necessary therefore to consult the representative theories and practices of inter-religious dialogue in contemporary international academic circles—e.g.,scriptural reasoning,comparative theology,and interreligious theology then to develop inculturated forms of world religions through a comprehensive inculturation strategy of recovering,retrieving,restoring,reconfiguring,reconstructing,and renewing.By such means,we can contribute to building up China as a cultural community of religious diversity.
