This material combined the advantages of inorganic species, ZnO, and organic polymer, chitosan. Horseradish peroxidase immobilized in the material maintained its activity well as the usage of glutaraldehyde was avoided. The activity of enzyme was 7.9 times greater than the cross-linked enzyme. The parameters affecting the fabrication and experimental conditions of biosensors were optimized. With the aid of hydroquinone mediator, the biosensor had a fast response of less than 10 s. The linear range was 5.0×10-6 to 2.0× 10-3 mol/L with a sensitivity of 43.8 μA L/mmol. This matrix can also be used to immobilize other biomolecule.展开更多

In order to mimic the lotus structure, ZnO micro-nano composite hydrophobic films were prepared via the three-step method. On thin buffer films of SiO2, which were first fabricated on glass substrates by the so,gel dip-coating method, a ZnO seed layer was deposited via RF magnetron sputtering. Then two different ZnO films, micro-nano and micro-only flowerlike structures, were grown by the hydrothermal method. The prepared films have different hydrophobic properties after surface modification. The structures of the obtained ZnO films were characterized using x-ray diffraction and field-emission scanning electron microscopy. A conclusion that a micro-nano composite structure is more beneficial to hydrophobicity than a micro-only structure was obtained through research into the effect of structure on hydrophobic properties.展开更多

Sol gel (SG) and aqueous chemical growth (ACG) methods by two steps of preparation (seed layers and nano-rod growth) are used for samples preparation. The structural and morphological properties are evaluated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The proposed iron ion sensor has shown good linearity for a wide concentration range from 0.078 M/L to 0.26 M/L of iron ions. The results show that the electrode is highly sensitive to iron ions with a slope around 47.8 mV/decade with a regression coefficient R2 = 0.96.展开更多

It is found that the surface morphologies of the films are changed significantly after hydrogen plasma treatment and that the films consist of vertically standing and intersecting nanosheets. A lower turn-on field of 1.2 V/μm and an enhanced current density -0.11 mA/cm2 at 2.47 V/μm are achieved. The low threshold field and the high emission current density are attributed primarily to the unique shape and smaller resistivity of the ZnO nanosheet films.展开更多
