Publishers’Development Strategies in Response to Changes in National Reading-Analysis Based on the 16th to 20th National Reading Survey Report

Since 2014,nationwide reading has been included in the government work report for 10 consecutive times,and twice into the country’s five-year development plan.The importance of reading for individuals,society,and the country has become increasingly prominent.National reading has flourished,and throughout the 2018 to 2022 National Reading Survey Report,there have been welcome changes in national reading in China.This study compares and analyzes the relevant reading indicators of adult nationals from 2018 to 2022,and summarizes the five changes and new trends in national reading.That is,national reading awareness has increased,paper-book reading habits have returned,digital reading has become more diversified,the listening group has grown,and the voice of national reading activities has continued to rise.Accordingly,it provides relevant development strategies for publishers.

Strategic Direction of Russia Interpreted from Its New National Security Strategy

In July 2021,Russia unveiled its new National Security Strategy,which is a considerably updated version compared with the previous one and hence presents several new features.For instance,it further stresses that security should be prioritized over other aspects;it gives more attention to the chaotic aspects of order change in its assessment of the international situation;it highlights the threats from the West;and it places increased emphasis on domestic capacity building as a means for safeguarding national security.From the content of the new Strategy as well as Russia’s policies in recent years,the strategy of Russia for the foreseeable future can be generally characterized as inward-looking.Domestically,its policies will become more conservative;diplomatically,it will take up a defensive position;and economically,it will increasingly emphasize security and selfreliance.In other words,several issues that were previously overlooked will be given attention.However,strategic introversion does not mean that Russia will invest all its energy in defense.Instead,Russia will build up strength for changes that lie ahead.With the expected strategic introversion,Russia will fnd difculty in making breakthroughs in terms of its relations with the West;the China-Russia relations will continue on the path of steady development;and Russia will place greater importance to the balance of power among major countries.

Study on public sign translation and linguistic landscape has become the most practical way of serving the national strategy of language service by the Chinese linguistic scholars.Contrasts of their definitions,functions,research scope and perspectives,and research content are made and approaches to coordinating the two research fields are proposed.It is pointed out that the two concepts are neither the same nor contradictive.Linguistic landscape study can only be enriched and better serve the national strategy if the research fruits of public sign translation are absorbed.

Cultural Confidence as a National Strategy: Significance and Construction

In the context of globalization, Western values keep expanding across the globe, maintaining their dominance. Domestically, the development of Chinese culture lags behind its economic growth. Globally, China has yet to develop a significant power of speech. Also, China's overseas image is not in line with its real strength. Life Strategy Traits of the Liana Sericostachys scandens Spreading in the Montane Forests in the Kahuzi-Biega National Park (DR Congo)

Sericostaehys seandens is a monocarpic and heliophilous liana, native in tropical African forests. In the montane forests of the Kahuzi-Biega National Park （KBNP） （East of DR Congo）, it has been expanding very strongly for a decade, and is currently considered as having negative impacts on biodiversity conservation. In this paper, we test if S. scandens differs from three co-occurring, native, non spreading lianas （Gouania longispicata, Tacazzea apiculata and Adenia bequaertii） for functional traits which might influence plant expansion. For leaf traits （SLA, dry matter content, nitrogen concentration）, S. scandens did not show extreme values compared to those of the three other lianas. In contrast, S. scandens had much higher biomass allocation to sexual reproduction. It also differs from the three other lianas for its reproductive strategy that combines both vegetative propagation and sexual reproduct/on, and propagule dispersal by wind. Moreover, S. scandens has larger leaves and a greater number of lateral branches per unit stem length. It is argued that the particular combination of functional traits exhibited by S.scandens may in part explain its propensity to behave as an opportunistic weed in the disturbed areas in the montane forests of Kahuzi-Biega.

Impact of Transport Network Changes on Tourism in Protected Areas: A Case Study of Ayubia National Park, Pakistan

The inflow caused by tourists in peak seasons exerts an uncontrollable pressure on the existing infrastructure. The Ayubia National Park in Pakistan faces traffic delays and capacity restraints on the connecting roads in peak season. The study focuses on the formulation of critical strategies by deploying amendments in the transport network. The methodology contains three parts: 1) a questionnaire was designed to inquire about several variables from the visitors;2) the second part was traffic count data collection and analysis. Based on the response collected, the impact of multiple strategies on the network was analyzed using TransCad;3) in the third part, the results obtained were shared with experts to gain their valuable opinions. It was observed that the time of the day based access restriction to heavy vehicles could lead to dropping the Volume to capacity ratio from 1.7 to 1.2. However, the experts were also of the view that network changes can enhance and improve the visitors’ experience.
