Analysis of Viewing Paintings from the Perspective of Iconography

Distinguished from purely formalistic research methods,iconography pursues the interpretation of the hidden historical and humanistic connotations behind artworks,and is a discipline that combines visual text and content analysis methods.Combining the three stages of iconography proposed by Panofsky,the paper studies Shizeng Chen’s Viewing Paintings from the perspective of iconography,summarizing the formation and change of the images and contents of the artworks in the cultural system and civilization at that time,as well as their implied ideology,and analyzing the hidden spirit of the times and the historical significance behind them,so as to expound their iconographic significance.Through an in-depth discussion at three levels:pre-pictorial iconographic description,iconographic analysis,and iconographic interpretation,the facts and surface contents reproduced in the images,the traditional level of literary,artistic,and cultural knowledge,as well as the interpretation of the potential meanings are revealed.

Speech at the Symposium on Study and Implementation of the Spirit of the 19^(th) CPC National Congress at the China Society for Human Rights Studies

Following the successful conclusion of the 19thCommunist Party of China National Congress,there has been a nationwide upsurge in the study and implementation of the spirit of the Congress.It was therefore both necessary and timely for the China Society for Human Rights Studies to organize a symposium on the study and implementation of the spirit of the Congress.I’d like to express my understanding of the study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress from three aspects:

Evolution of the “Zhejiang Spirit” During the Forty Years of Reform and Opening-up

The "Zhejiang spirit" refers to a theoretical summary of the group consciousness, mental state, value orientation and ideological realm, which is, as a motivating power, owned and recognized by all Zhejiang people, and carries Zhejiang peculiarities. President Xi Jinping, during his term of office in Zhejiang, launched a number of seminars and activities to seek "a Zhejiang spirit that moves with the times." Forty years of reform and opening-up, the "Zhejiang spirit" has experienced an evolution that can be summarized as three improvements: from spontaneous formation to deliberate cultivation, from something limited to eastern Zhejiang to an integrating force that spans the entire Zhejiang Province, and from a mere existence to a role that functions adequately. The "Zhejiang spirit" is extracted from the humanistic spirits shaped in all corners of Zhejiang province. It is "an instrumental ensemble played across the entire province," and represents a certain judgment and interpretation. The "Zhejiang spirit" not only describes and summarizes the past and present, but will also guide and motivate the future, and support people in their enterprising and industrious practices to move with the times.

In the building process of beautiful villages, Chinese traditional culture and folk culture have been affected by foreign culture. The ethnic culture, especially the traditional festival place of Shui nationality and the human environment on which it depends, is facing new challenges. This study analyzed the predicament in the environment design of Duan slope, as well as its causes. The cohesion of social“emotion–norm–goal”in response to major pandemics means the intention coordination of the involved group attitude,the value regulation of joint participations and the system optimization of power concentration.Social cohesive mobilization includes the core role and key variables of the government’s initiative and public response,with social rectification functions of centralized leadership,social coordination and public participation as derivatives.The mobilization of national spirit in the process of cohesion emphasizes the formation of guidance,persuasion and influence of internal driving force based on value concept,which are mainly represented in the form of emotional mobilization,normative mobilization and goal mobilization.The“emotional paradigm”of national spirit mobilization that enters the practical level focuses on the“heart-warming”function of emotional strategy rituals;“normative paradigm”shows the function of“heart-winning”in the sense of norms and shapes interpretation scheme as well as social regulations of social cohesion value reproduction;“goal paradigm”reflects the“confidence strengthening”function led by collective actions,and conducts the goal transmission and framework construction of“idea+action”.
