Ecological ethics is a kind of ethics code adjusting relationship between human and nature. Ecological ethics implication of Youyu spirit reflects in four aspects： eco-value concept of ＂nature and human unifying, revering nature＂, eco-politics concept of ＂persisting greening, diligently working for people＂, eco-obligation concept of ＂predecessor planting, descendant cooling＂ and eco-culture concept of ＂public participation, harmonious development＂. It has important value for constructing beautiful Shanxi and realizing ecological civilization to excavate and carry forward ecological ethics implication of Youyu spirit.

Narrative Environmental Ethics, Nature Writing, and Ecological Science as Tradition： Towards a Sponsoring Ground of Concern

Over the last 30 years, environmental philosophers and ecological researchers have turned their attention to the possibilities of narratives： the stories people tell about their lives in conjunction with the human and non-human agents they live with. An interest in narrative environmental ethics reflects a re-evaluation of canonical ecophilosophical texts. Works such as Paul W. Taylor＇s Respect for Nature suggest an essentialist view of environmental ethics in which predetermined principles are imposed on places and situations. On the other hand, Aldo Leopold＇s A Sand County Almanac combines first-person prose with science-based explanations of the ＂biotic pyramid＂ towards the development of a land ethic. Examples, such as Leopold＇s, of narrative ethics are thought to offer relational, place-based, non-authoritative, and non-anthropocentric models. This article examines three critical components of environmental narratives： self, context, and tradition. In order for environmental narratives to advance ecological ethics, they must be accompanied by the tradition of natural science （geology, ecology, and evolution） to provide the ＂sponsoring ground＂ for ethical concern and action. The role of natural science as a tradition--and indeed one of many--in narrative ethics provides the basis for ecological selfhood in the context of place. These assertions will be supported by an analysis of the environmental narratives of Karen Warren and Jim Cheney. However, in the temporally expansive and ecologically conscious poetic narratives of John Kinsella we find an environmental ethics deeply rooted in the material realities of place.

Building up the concept of green development by infiltrating ecological ethics into ideological education for university students

University student education is the main part of higher education in China. Therefore, the comprehensive quality of university students shows the level of higher education. Ecological literacy is the basic literacy of college students under the background of green development to build socialism with Chinese characteristics. The green development education is based on the research idea of the relationship between the individual and the surrounding environment in ecology, which requires respecting the subjectivity of the active object, paying attention to the integrity and connection of the object. Compared with the traditional education, green development education pays more attention to the cultivation of moral quality and sound personality of the educated, and it can make the students understand the ecological environment. Under the premise of ecological system and the mechanism of biological growth and development, respect and love of life are formed naturally, and then the universal concern for environment and others is formed. College students, as advanced groups of young people, are leading the social fashion and influencing the social ethical environment. Ecological literacy is the new requirement of the times for college students. We should integrate the education of green development into the ideological education,make great efforts to shape the ecological ethical system of college students, and cultivate their ecological consciousness, ecological thinking and behavior habits. It is an important issue for ideological education to improve the quality of green development in an all-round way.

The Taoist ideas that "Tao models itself after nature" and "Tao begets nature" show the yearning for an ecological society in ancient China.The idea that "Tao models itself after nature" optimizes the environment,and the idea that "Tao begets nature" saves resources and "Tao is nature" means returning to nature,all of which consist of the Taoist philosophical model and ecological ethics.Taoist researches are based on the integration of nature and society and the interaction of the ecological ethics,and sustainable development of ecology and the wilderness value strategy of ecological maintenance are the two focuses of the present ecological ethics,showing the ethical value of Taoism for the renewal of the ecological culture and the peaceful rise of the Chinese nation.

About the Nature of Ecological Ethics Debates and the Relationship between Human and Nature

There are natural ethical debates in ecological ethics, namely whether nature has intrinsic value, whether the nature has its rights. Theoretical basis of argument is the opposite of anthropocentrism and non- anthropocentrism. Study on the Ecological Ethics of Agricultural College Students

From the perspective of environmental sociology,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the environmental awareness and behaviors of undergraduates from nearly all fields of majors in Sichuan Agricultural University. According to the investigation results,there are los of problems,for example,the college students generally do not have adequate knowledge about environment and are unclear about the existing na- tional ecological law system; their attitude towards environment is often influenced by their majors; their evaluation of environment is far from the reality; their environmental behaviors are weakly restrained and conserved. According to these problems,related suggestions were proposed.

Appropriate Garden Design of Primitive Ecology Based on the Indigenization of Environmental Ethics

The accelerating urbanization process leads to aggravated environmental problems, thus garden design which is a creative activity connecting human and nature has attracted much attention, and also garden designers have had to rethink about environmental ethics and morals. This study, from the perspective of environmental ethics, duly proposed the brand-new concept of 'appropriate garden of primitive ecology', proceeded from the orientation, form, value, theoretical basis, realistic significance, culture and consumption psychology of 'garden of primitive ecology', fully developed outstanding ecological wisdoms and morals in traditional Chinese garden culture, boosted garden designs to the environmental ethics level of eco-justice, to seek for the approach to 'garden of primitive ecology' with indigenous Chinese environmental ethic characteristics.

Debating ecological justice:implications for critical environmental education

This article will briefly discuss the implications of recognition of ecological justice in relation to environmental education(EE) and education for sustainable development(ESD).It is argued that the present conception of environment taught through EE and ESD negates the subjectivity of non-human species and ignores the ethical imperatives of ecological justice.Evocating environmental ethics,major directions integrating ecological justice into EE and ESD are proposed.

The evolutionary complexity of modem media systems represents an area of research that would benefit from further description and debate. In order to better understand the challenges and considerations associated with the new, constantly changing media ecology, a more holistic worldview must be catapulted to the forefront of the collective discussion. To that effect, the following essay examines the open source software movement from the philosophical perspective of Tibetan Buddhism. Using the principles of interconnectedness, impermanence, and the illusory nature of self and reality, all fundamental elements of Buddhist philosophy, this discussion provides a renewed framework for exploring the ethical implications of open sourcing. A review of Buddhist teachings, coupled with literature from foundational media theorists such as Neil Postman and Marshall and Eric McLuhan, will set the stage for contemplating the ethics of the modem information ecology, epitomized by the collaborative spirit and community connections of open source software.

Ethical Implications of Systems Methodology Applied to Industrial Ecology

The systemic view on industry and on production and consumption pattern is an essential feature of the industrial ecology （IE） concept. One consequence of this view is to investigate industrial flows and consumer activities, and their effects on the environment in order to evaluate and eventually optimize these flows with the help of a systems methodology. Industrial ecology has been developed by engineers and natural scientists and its ethical core canon often manifests in anthropocentric assertions such as harmonizing the contradiction between nature and culture with scientific expertise, appropriate technology and socio-economic management. This paper argues however for a biocentric inspired, normative reading of some characteristics of industrial ecology＇s systems methodology. The presumption for the value of this endeavor is that industrial ecology＇s systems methodology has a potential for developing directions for the design of a possible sustainable world.

The Comparison of the Ecological Outlook of Henry David Thoreau and Gary Snyder

The development of industrial civilization has brought to human beings great achievements. However, while conquering nature and gaining more and more wealth, we have faced a series of problems such as environmental disruption, ecological unbalance, and frequent natural disasters. On Ecological Thinking in Silent Spring

Silent Spring is Rachel Carson's scientific documentation of the widespread harmful consequences of undistinguished pesticide use, in which her ecological thinking is visible in every corner. Therefore the following paper intends to analyze Carson's ecological thinking from the perspective of eco-criticism. The whole paper consists of three parts. The first part concerns the introduction of the author Rachel Carson, the work Silent Spring and the theory Eco-criticism applied in the paper. The second part is the mainbody, concerning the concrete analysis of Carson's ecological thinking by applying eco-criticism. Carson's ecological thinking can be summarized as the following four points: the first two points concern her criticism for anthropocentric values of system and over development of industrialization and science. The other two points concern her support for ecological holism and eco-morality. The last part arrives at the following conclusion that Carson's thinking has begun with the criticism for tangible harm of eco-crisis and has lifted to the intangible level of ideology. Besides, she attempts to solve the eco-crisis from its bottom- the ideology that causes such crisis. Besides, her diversified ecological thinking demonstrates her profound thinking and her deep concern for the eco-crisis.

An Eternal Quest for Poetic Dwelling: A Comparative Study of the Eco-Ethic Thoughts in Silent Spring and Wolf Totem

This thesis is aimed at conducting a comparative study of the ecoethic thoughts in Silent Spring and Wolf Totem. It points out that Carson and Jiang's eco-ethics are relatively complete, ideal and objective. Moreover, the most shining features are that they not only unfold the grim fact of ecological crisis before the public, but also instil confidence and hope in each and every reader.

Epochal Criticism of Landscape Aesthetics From the Perspective of Ecology

On the basis of traditional aesthetics, contemporary western aesthetic circles add environmental aesthetics with ecological ethical thinking, trying to solve the increasingly serious ecological environment problems and subvert people’s inherent values through its theory and practice. Landscape aesthetics, as an important branch of environmental aesthetics, should seek effective intervention of new ideas with epochal criticism on the basis of in-depth exploration of its historical form. Based on the vertical time axis, this study combed the traditional aesthetic theory and its application in landscape practice, summed up the transformation of landscape aesthetics from subject-object dichotomy to experience-based empiricism, and introduced ecological ethics and scientific knowledge into contemporary landscape aesthetics to determine its value orientation of the times, in order to provide theoretical reference for solving ecological crisis and expanding the study of landscape aesthetics.

Buddhist Ethics With Solving the Environmental Problems

This research aimed to investigate （1） the concept of environmental ethics between the Western and Buddhist ways; （2） To compare the concept of environmental ethics between the Western and Buddhist ways; （3） To analyze the solving of environmental problems under the Buddhist concept. The results showed that the Buddhism which has had the concept focusing on all living things and being friendly to the nature, having no history of occupying, encroaching and destroying the living things. Nevertheless, giving the values on the environment is still far to the facts of way of life of most humans. However, regarding Buddhist essence that emphasizes that the human as a part of the nature is not conflicted with the ethical values on nature. Complementary to all living things in nature is close to the Dharma practice which starts at itself and knows itself. Dharma practice in Buddhism has assumed to be the individual responsibility on environment itself. Importantly, the Buddhist way of life on environment according to such implication has occurred and really existed in the history of mankind.

Green Development and the Land Ethic

Attempts to understand and respond to the threat of anthropogenic climate change,the defining challenge of our era,increasingly reveal the inadequacy of the dominant conceptual systems of thought.Recognizing the need for a fundamental change in the dominant models of industrial development,the concept of sustainability has quickly become the idea around which contemporary environmentalism is centered.This essay argues that while the concept of sustainability is important,it ultimately does not address the root of the ecological crisis.With Aldo Leopold(1887-1948),I argue that it is an"evolutionary possibility and an ecological necessity"that we develop what he calls a"land ethic."If we are truly to address the root causes of the ecological crisis,humanity must stop conceiving of proper land use merely in terms of economic expedience and recognize that we are ultimately a member and citizen of the wider"biotic community."In the end,green development is development which is compatible with the integrity,stability,and beauty of the nature.

河流伦理研究及其在流域综合管理中的应用

流域水资源综合管理蕴含诸多的河流伦理问题。通过介绍河流伦理的内涵及内容,分析黄河“八七”分水方案、新安江生态补偿方案、小水电清理整改方案、都江堰生态水利工程、淮河“水量-水质-水生态”联合调度等案例,重点研讨了流域水资源综合管理面临的河流伦理问题,包括流域水资源分配的公平,河流健康权利,水资源综合管理的公平性、正义性和责任性等。案例表明,河流伦理思想和相关研究将在流域水资源分配、流域生态保护及流域治理中起到重要的基础与支撑作用。展望未来,变化环境下的流域智慧管理与河流伦理的交叉研究,将会产生更加深入结合与发展的成果。
