Large and specially located nevi cannot be completely removed by surgery, posing the risks of both cosmetic deformities and potential malignancy.Nonsurgical treatments, such as laser therapy and physical dermabrasion, can overcome the limitations of surgery;however, the high rate of repigmentation remains an unresolved global challenge. We conducted a self-controlled observational study of a patient with a nevus on the chest. Two areas of the lesion were treated with an Er:YAG laser and 5% imiquimod cream was applied to one of these areas. After nearly 7-months of follow-up, we observed a significant difference in color between the two areas, suggesting that topical imiquimod may inhibit repigmentation and significantly enhance the effectiveness of laser treatment. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Blue rubber blister nevus syndrome(BRBNS)is a congenital,rare disease charac-terized by venous malformations of the skin and internal organs,affecting all systems throughout the body.The pathogenesis is unknown.There is no con-sensus on the treatment of BRBNS.Most of the previously reported cases were mild to moderate with a good prognosis,and this case was a critically ill patient with severe gastrointestinal hemorrhage,disseminated intravascular coagulation(DIC),and severe joint fusion that was different from previously reported cases.CASE SUMMARY An 18-year-old man with early onset of BRBNS in early childhood is reported.He presented with recurrent melena and underwent malformed phlebectomy and partial jejunectomy and ileal resection.The patient had melena before and after surgery.After active treatment,the patient's gastrointestinal bleeding improved.This was a case of atypical BRBNS with severe gastrointestinal bleeding and severe joint fusion,which should be differentiated from other serious joint lesions and provide clinicians with better understanding of this rare disease.CONCLUSION This case of critical BRBNS with gastrointestinal hemorrhage,DIC and severe joint fusion provides further understanding of this rare disease. 展开更多

We report the case of a 35-year-old woman who had a painless, malodorous swelling of the cerebriform scalp measuring 20 × 17 cm in diameter with a wide base of insertion at the occipital level adhering to the deep planes. The massive influx of traffic on the Internet has made the composition of web traffic increasingly complex.Traditional port-based or protocol-based network traffic identification methods are no longer suitable for today’s complex and changing networks.Recently,machine learning has beenwidely applied to network traffic recognition.Still,high-dimensional features and redundant data in network traffic can lead to slow convergence problems and low identification accuracy of network traffic recognition algorithms.Taking advantage of the faster optimizationseeking capability of the jumping spider optimization algorithm(JSOA),this paper proposes a jumping spider optimization algorithmthat incorporates the harris hawk optimization(HHO)and small hole imaging(HHJSOA).We use it in network traffic identification feature selection.First,the method incorporates the HHO escape energy factor and the hard siege strategy to forma newsearch strategy for HHJSOA.This location update strategy enhances the search range of the optimal solution of HHJSOA.We use small hole imaging to update the inferior individual.Next,the feature selection problem is coded to propose a jumping spiders individual coding scheme.Multiple iterations of the HHJSOA algorithmfind the optimal individual used as the selected feature for KNN classification.Finally,we validate the classification accuracy and performance of the HHJSOA algorithm using the UNSW-NB15 dataset and KDD99 dataset.Experimental results show that compared with other algorithms for the UNSW-NB15 dataset,the improvement is at least 0.0705,0.00147,and 1 on the accuracy,fitness value,and the number of features.In addition,compared with other feature selectionmethods for the same datasets,the proposed algorithmhas faster convergence,better merit-seeking,and robustness.Therefore,HHJSOAcan improve the classification accuracy and solve the problem that the network traffic recognition algorithm needs to be faster to converge and easily fall into local optimum due to high-dimensional features. 展开更多

Background:Melanocytic nevus is mainly treated by complete or partial removal.However,predicting the risk of malignant transformation of melanocytic nevi and which treatment patients should receive,surgical or nonsurgical management,to gain the best results and aesthetic outcomes is controversial.Methods:Global literature on melanocytic nevus treatment,published between 1997 and 2022,was scanned using the Web of Science Core Collection database.Microsoft Office Excel,CiteSpace V,VOSviewer,Scimago Graphica,Bibliometrix,and Biblioshiny packages in R were used for the bibliometric analysis to summarize the leading countries,institutions,professors,and research trends in this field.Results:This study included 1723 articles.Publications and citations exhibited positive trends over the past 20 years.The United States had the most productive organizations and publications in the comprehensive worldwide cooperation network,and China was recently one of the most active major participants.Professor Giovanni Pellacani,whose H-index,G-index,and M-index ranked first in this field,founded a virtual biopsy using reflectance confocal microscopy.In addition,Krengel and Kinsler contributed significantly to diagnosing and treating melanocytic nevi.The top 25 keywords in recent years were mostly about the mechanisms and risk factors for the malignant transformation of nevi.Conclusion:The future trend for melanocytic nevi treatment is to specify genotype-phenotype and genotypeoutcome correlations,choose proper therapy to reduce the risk of malignant transformation,and simultaneously achieve the best aesthetic outcomes. 展开更多

Spitz nevus (SN) is predominantly distributed throughout the lower extremities, while an acral location is rare. Since SN occasionally resembles the clinicopathological presentation of malignant melanoma (MM), it presents a diagnostic challenge, especially on glabrous skin. Past reports suggest that several genetic aberrations are associated with specific clinicopathological subtypes of melanocytic tumors. Immunohistochemistry can provide a clue to the presence or absence of a molecular aberration typical of Spitz tumors. We describe a case of a plantar SN with genetic analysis, including anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), ROS proto-oncogene 1 (ROS1), BRAF (V600E) protein, and BRCA1-associated protein-1 (BAP1). However, we were not able to detect a characteristic gene aberration. To the best of our knowledge, no genetic aberrations in plantar SN cases have been reported. A comprehensive understanding of tumor genomics is expected to play an essential role in the classification of melanocytic tumors. Further genetic research on plantar SN is required to establish new criteria for distinguishing between SN and MM. 展开更多

As a new bionic algorithm,Spider Monkey Optimization(SMO)has been widely used in various complex optimization problems in recent years.However,the new space exploration power of SMO is limited and the diversity of the population in SMO is not abundant.Thus,this paper focuses on how to reconstruct SMO to improve its performance,and a novel spider monkey optimization algorithm with opposition-based learning and orthogonal experimental design(SMO^(3))is developed.A position updatingmethod based on the historical optimal domain and particle swarmfor Local Leader Phase(LLP)andGlobal Leader Phase(GLP)is presented to improve the diversity of the population of SMO.Moreover,an opposition-based learning strategy based on self-extremum is proposed to avoid suffering from premature convergence and getting stuck at locally optimal values.Also,a local worst individual elimination method based on orthogonal experimental design is used for helping the SMO algorithm eliminate the poor individuals in time.Furthermore,an extended SMO^(3)named CSMO^(3)is investigated to deal with constrained optimization problems.The proposed algorithm is applied to both unconstrained and constrained functions which include the CEC2006 benchmark set and three engineering problems.Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than three well-known SMO algorithms and other evolutionary algorithms in unconstrained and constrained problems. 展开更多

To solve the problem of slow convergence and easy to get into the local optimum of the spider monkey optimization algorithm,this paper presents a new algorithm based on multi-strategy(ISMO).First,the initial population is generated by a refracted opposition-based learning strategy to enhance diversity and ergodicity.Second,this paper introduces a non-linear adaptive dynamic weight factor to improve convergence efficiency.Then,using the crisscross strategy,using the horizontal crossover to enhance the global search and vertical crossover to keep the diversity of the population to avoid being trapped in the local optimum.At last,we adopt a Gauss-Cauchy mutation strategy to improve the stability of the algorithm by mutation of the optimal individuals.Therefore,the application of ISMO is validated by ten benchmark functions and feature selection.It is proved that the proposed method can resolve the problem of feature selection. 展开更多

Soil spiders were pitfall-trapped once every month in three forest vegetation types of Ziwuling natural secondary forest region, Gansu Province from April to October, 2004. A total of 2 164 spiders were collected, belonging to 43 species in 19 families, captured in 630 pitfall trap collections. Linyphiidae, Gnaphosidae and Lycosodae were found to be the dominant families in all habitat types, and the composition of soil spider assemblages was different between the three habitats. Ecological indices of diversity, richness and evenness were significantly different between the three habitats ( P 〈 0.05). The relative abundance of guilds (based on numbers of individuals) varied greatly (P 〈 0.01), which may releet resource availability within habitat types. The existence of different patterns within the assemblages reflects the importance of maintaining habitat heterogeneity and vegetation types in order to preserve soil spider biodiversity. 展开更多

Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome(BRBNS)is a rare disease characterized by multiple venous malformations and hemangiomas in the skin and visceral organs.The lesions often involve the cutaneous and gastrointestinal systems.Other organs can also be involved,such as the central nervous system,liver,and muscles.The most common symptoms are gastrointestinal bleeding and secondary iron deficiency anemia.The syndrome may also present with severe complications such as rupture,intestinal torsion,and intussusception,and can even cause death.Cutaneous malformations are usually asymptomatic and do not require treatment.The treatment of gastrointestinal lesions is determined by the extent of intestinal involvement and severity of the disease.Most patients respond to supportive therapy,such as iron supplementation and blood transfusion.For more significant hemorrhages or severe complications,surgical resection,endoscopic sclerosis,and laser photocoagulation have been proposed.Here we present a case of BRBNS in a 45-year-old woman involving 16sites including the scalp,eyelid,orbit,lip,tongue,face,back,upper and lower limbs,buttocks,root of neck,clavicle area,superior mediastinum,glottis,esophagus,colon,and anus,with secondary severe anemia.In addition,we summarize the epidemiology,clinical manifestations,diagnosis,differential diagnosis and therapies of this disease by analyzing all previously reported cases to enhance the awareness of this syndrome. 展开更多

Hainantoxin-II (HnTx-II), a novel neurotoxin, was isolated from the venom of the Chinese bird spider (Haplopelma hainanum) by cation exchange chromatography and reverse-phase HPLC. The toxin was a single chain polypeptide with calculated molecular weight of 4 253.135 obtained by mass spectrometry. The complete amino acid sequence of HnTx-II was determined by Edman degradation and found to contain 37 residues with three disulfide bonds. Results showed HnTx-II can reversibly paralyze cockroaches for several hours after intra-abdominal injection with ED50 of 16 μg/g and kill the insects immediately at a dose of 60 μg/g. It was also shown to kill mice at a LD50 value of 1.41μg/g after intracerebroventricular injection. Hainantoxin-II shares 91% sequence homology with Huwentoxin-II (HwTx-II), an insecticidal peptide from another bird spider (Haplopelma schmidti) with a unique scaffold. While HnTx-II and HwTx-II both exhibit toxic activities in insects and mammals, HnTx-II shows higher insecticidal activity and lower lethiferous activity of mammals than HwTx-II. These results help clarify structural-functional relationships of the polypeptide toxin. 展开更多

AIM: To study the effect of an innovative micro-dissection procedure by radiofrequency ablation (MRA) in removing eyelid nevus.METHODS: Fifty-six consecutive outpatients with eyelid nevus were treated with MRA using a monopolar device. The effect of MRA was determined after following-up for 6mo to 5y.RESULTS: Fifty-two cases (52 eyes, 92.9%) were cured once, and 4 cases (4 eyes, 7.1%) received second treatment for small residual. All cases healed well after surgery, with no pigmentation, no scars, no loss of eyelashes, no deformation of eyelid margin. There was no visual impairment after healing.CONCLUSION: MRA of eyelid nevus using the XL-RFA device is highly efficient without significant complications. 展开更多

A 57-year-old woman previously diagnosed with blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome(BRBNS) reported hematemesis. BRBNS is a rare vascular anomaly syndrome consisting of multifocal hemangiomas of the skin and gastrointestinal(GI) tract but her GI tract had never been examined. An upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a large bleeding esophageal hematoma positioned between the thoracic esophagus and the gastric cardia. An endoscopic injection of polidocanol was used to stop the hematoma from bleeding. The hematoma was incised using the injectionneedle to reduce the pressure within it. Finally, argon plasma coagulation(APC) was applied to the edge of the incision. The esophageal hematoma disappeared seven days later. Two months after the endoscopic the rapy, the eso phage alulcerhealed and the hemangioma did not relapse. This rare case of a large esophageal hematoma originating from a hemangioma with BRBNS was treated using a combination of endoscopic therapy with polidocanol injection, incision, and APC. 展开更多

By using a shadow method, the walking of water spiders had been studied. The three-dimensional trajectories and the supporting forces of water spider legs during walking forward were achieved. Results showed that the leg movement could be divided into three phases: slap, stroke, and retrieve. Employing an effective strategy to improving walking efficiency, the sculling legs supported most of its body weight while other legs were lifted to reduce the lateral water resistance, which was similar to the strategy of water striders. These findings could help guiding the design of water walking robots with high efficiency. 展开更多

Differential effects of methamidophos and three pyrethroids on ATPase activity and membrane fluidity of mitochondria were investigated between the wolf spider(Pirata subpiraticus(Boes.et Str.))and the rice stem borer(Chilo suppressalis(Walker)).Based on a comparison of LD_(50) values,the toxicities of the tested insecticides were higher to the wolf spider than to the rice stem borer.Cyhalothrin at 1×10^(–4) mmol L^(–1) caused inhibition of the mitochondrial Na~+-K~+-ATPase and Ca^(2+)-Mg^(2+)-ATPase activities,and it’s inhibitions on Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca^(2+)-Mg^(2+)-ATPase activities were significantly higher in the wolf spider(44 and 28%)than in the rice stem borer(19 and 11%).Methamidophos at 1×10^(–4) mmol L^(–1) decreased Ca^(2+)-Mg^(2+)-ATPase activity by 16 and 27%in the wolf spider and the rice stem borer,respectively,but no significant effect on the specific activity of Na+-K+-ATPase was observed.The DPH(1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene)fluorescence polarization values of mitochondrial membranes were not significantly affected by methamidophos in either species.However,cyhalothrin and alpha-cypermethrin induced the values of DPH polarization of mitochondrial membrane increasing with the concentration of cyhalothrin and alpha-cypermethrin from 20 to 100μmol L^(–1) in the rice stem borer and the wolf spider.Effect of ethofenprox on fluidity of the wolf spider and the rice stem borer was contrary.These results suggest that both inhibition of membrane ATPase and changes of membrane fluidity could be appended to the action mechanisms of pyrethroid insecticides. 展开更多

This paper aims to carry out the preliminary study on the zoogeographic distributions of 166 species within Gnaphosidae by clustering method,and analyze and compare the similarities of 15 subregions in seven zoogeographic regions in China.The results suggested that the division of Northern China was coincident with the distribution pattern of Chinese ground spiders,but there was subregion recombination between the other regions.There was aggregation between Da Hinggan Mountains subregion in the Northeast,east plain subregion in Mengxin area and west hungriness subregion,between Tianshan mountainous subregion in Mengxin area,Qiangtang altiplano subregion and the southwest mountainous region subregion in Southwest,and between east hill plain subregion in central China,west mountainous region altiplano subregion,Min and Guang coastal subregion in south of China and south Dian mountainous region subregion.The other two subregions in the Northeast formed a region.Qinghai and south Xizang subregion in Qinghai-Xizang Region formed a branch independently. 展开更多
