In this study,we analyze the models of the deflection angle of a new Schwarzschild-like black hole(BH)and employ the optical metric of the BH.To achieve this,we use the Gaussian curvature of the optical metric and the...In this study,we analyze the models of the deflection angle of a new Schwarzschild-like black hole(BH)and employ the optical metric of the BH.To achieve this,we use the Gaussian curvature of the optical metric and the Gauss-Bonnet theorem,known as the Gibbons-Werner technique,to determine the deflection angle.Furthermore,we examine the deflection angle in the presence of a plasma medium and the effect of the plasma medium on the deflection angle.The deflection angle of the BH solution in the gauged super-gravity is computed using the Keeton-Petters approach.Utilizing the ray-tracing technique,we investigate the shadow of the corresponding BH and analyze the plots of the deflection angle and shadow to verify the influence of the plasma and algebraic thermodynamic parameters on the deflection angle and shadow.展开更多
The formation of mini black holes is now considered to be a well-established and inescapable consequence of TeV scale particle collision scenarios in extra-dimensional/ADD models. Further, such mini black holes have b...The formation of mini black holes is now considered to be a well-established and inescapable consequence of TeV scale particle collision scenarios in extra-dimensional/ADD models. Further, such mini black holes have been predicted to be produced at prodigious rates, of several thousand per year. Therefore, the continued null results from detector searches so far, including the most recent LHC runs of √s = 14 TeV, seem to suggest that new ideas may be critical for further advances in high energy physics. In this manuscript, we use a geometrical algorithm, inspired by general relativity, in particular Kerr-Newman de-Sitter black holes, to explore the non-perturbative (infra-red) sector of QCD. This has led us to a novel and more refined search criteria for LHC data compared to previous methods. We also explain why the current search has yielded null results. Our predictions are readily testable at detector sites. More importantly, our approach provides promising solutions to several long-standing problems, such as the hierarchy problem, problems with the continued failed attempts to integrate gravity into the standard model, and finally quark confinement.展开更多

Because the kidneys control erythropoiesis by producing erythropoietinand by supporting hematopoiesis, anemia is associated with kidney diseases. Anemia is the most prevalent genetic disorder, and it is caused by a deficiency of glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), for which sulfhydryl oxidation due to an insufficient supply of NADPH is a likely direct cause. Elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) result in the sulfhydryl oxidation and hence are another potential cause for anemia. ROS are elevated in red blood cells (RBCs) under superoxide dismutase (SOD1) defciency in C57BL/6 mice. SOD1 defcient miceexhibit characteristics similar to autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) at the gerontic stage. An examination of AIHA-prone New Zealand Black (NZB) mice, which have normal SOD1 and G6PD genes, indicated that ROS levels in RBCs are originally high and further elevated during aging. Transgenic overexpression of human SOD1 in erythroid cells effectively suppresses ROS elevation and ameliorates AIHA symptoms such as elevated anti-RBC antibodies and premature death in NZB mice. These results support the hypothesis that names oxidative stress as a risk factor for AIHA and other autoimmune diseases such as SLE. Herein we discuss the association between oxidative stress and SLE pathogenesis based mainly on the genetic and phenotypic characteristics of NZB and New Zealand white mice and provide insight into the mechanism of SLE pathogenesis.展开更多

[Methods] The polymorphism of STCH gene was detected in Jinfen white pig and New Shanxi black pig by bidirectional PCR amplification of specific alleles. [Results] There were two alleles(A, B) and three genotypes(AA, AB and BB) in Jinfen white pig and New Shanxi black pig. The PopGene32 analysis showed that the polymorphic site of STCH gene in Jinfen white pig accorded with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(P>0.05), while that of new Shanxi black pig did not meet the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(P<0.01). The results of chi-square test showed that the polymorphic site of STCH gene was significantly different in genotype distribution between the two pig breeds(P<0.01). [Conclusions] The establishment of the genetic marker Bi-PASA of STCH gene in Jinfen white pig and new Shanxi black pig could provide basic biological data for improving disease resistance of pigs and establishing disease-resistant populations.展开更多
