Breeding and Characterization of Yunchachunhao, a New Tea Variety with Full Aroma and High Quality 被引量:1

[Method] The quality of Yunchachunhao was identified using Yunkang 10 and Fudingdabaicha as the controls in variety com... [Objective] The aim of this study was to select a tea variety with full aro- ma and high quality. [Method] The quality of Yunchachunhao was identified using Yunkang 10 and Fudingdabaicha as the controls in variety comparison test, using Yunkang 10 and Dangdidayezhong as the controls in reginal test. [Result] In variety comparison test, the yield of Yunchachunhao was 39.3% more than that of Yunkang 10, and 29.6% more than that of Fudingdabaicha. In reginal test, the yield of Yun- chachunhao was 2.5% (Baoshan) and 10.2% (Lancang) more than that of Yunkang 10. The roast-dried green tea of Yunchachunhao was characterized by flowery fla- vor, good taste and bright green infused leaves. It got the total scores of 91.13 in quality identification, which was higher than that of Fudingdabaicha (90.75) and Yunkang 10 (88.85). The steam fixed green tea of Yunchachunhao contained 28.0% polyphenols and 2.7% amino acids; and the ratio of polyphenols to amino acids was 10.4, lower than that of Fudingdabaicha (10.6) and Yunkang 10 (17.3). Yun- chachunhao had better resistance to drought and blister blight than Yunkang 10. [Conclusion] The survival rates of cuttings and transplanted seedlings of Yun- chachunhao are higher than that of control varieties, suggesting it has better adapt- ability and can be promoted in the large-leaf tea planting area of Yunnan Province. 展开更多

Shanghua No.6, a new peanut variety with high shelling percentage and bigfruit, was bred through sexual hybridization(female parent Pukehua No.2 × male parent Yuanza 9102) by Shangqiu Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences. In the big peanut regional tests in north China in 2011-2012, Shanghua No.6 had the average yield of pod and seed respectively of 4 695.30 kg/hm^2 and 3 514.73 kg/hm^2;in the production test in 2013, its average yield of pod and seed were 4 531.0 5kg/hm^2 and 3 312.15 kg/hm^2. Its crude fat content was 50.46-53.46%, oleic acid content was 50.9-51.7%, and oil oleic acid/linoleic acid value was 1.69-1.76. The variety was high-resistant to brown spot and focal spot, susceptible to black spot,resistant to net blotch and stem rot. Its 100-pod weight was 256.2 g, 100-seed weight 111.2 g, and shelling percentage was 74.75%. The variety was certificated by National Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2014(identification number:2014010), which was suitable for planting in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Liaoning,Beijing, north of Huaihe River in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. 展开更多

Considering the ecological environment of Sichuan area, an experiment was conducted to breed new maize varieties with high yield, high quality, multi re- sistance and wide adaptability. According to the principle of gene recombination, the authors combined the local tropical germplasm with PB germplasm, which was rich in disease-resistant, lodging-resistant and drought-tolerant genes, and the integration was used as the innovative strategy for breeding. Inbred-line 'LSC 107' was suc- cessfully bred and the new maize hybrid 'Wande No.l' was bred by crossing 'LSC 107' with 'Yi 99-19'. The results showed that the maize hybrid had good performance, including high yield, good stability, high quality, excellent disease re- sistance and lodging resistance, and wide adaptation. So it was adaptable for plant- ing in plain and hilly areas of Sichuan Province. With hybrid recombination between local tropical germplasm and PB inbred lines, the inbred-line had high general com- bining ability and strong adaptability, and the hybrid had high yield, high quality and wide adaptability, and had broad prospects of popularization and application. 展开更多

Boehmeria nivea var.strigosa Zeng Y.Wu&Y.Zhao,a new variety of B.nivea(Urticaceae)from Southwest China,is here described based on evidence from morphology and molecular phylogeny.This new variety is mainly characterized by its green abaxial leaf blade,partly connate stipules,and densely patent strigose hairs on stems and potioles.The phylogenetic analysis based on rbc L,nrDNA and rbc L+nrDNA datasets,revealed that all individuals of B.nivea var.strigosa formed a monophyletic group.The conservation status of B.nivea var.strigosa is assessed as“Near Threatened”(NT)according to IUCN evaluation criteria.The discovery of this new variety is not only crucial for the taxonomy of ramie,but also provides reference for the exploration and utilization of ramie. 展开更多

[Method] ‘Jinmi 2' is a new super high-yielding hybrid mini watermelon developed by crossing J52 as female parent with X712 as a male parent. [Result] The variety is early maturing with 31 days fruit developing period and 108 days growth period. The average fruit weight is 2.4 kg and yield at 31 455 kg/hm2. The fruit is oblong shaped and it has a light green rind with jagged dark green stripes. The fresh is red, and tastes crisp and sweet, with center soluble solid content at 11.0% and margin at 7.8%. [Conclusion] The variety is suitable for production in most areas of Zhejiang. 展开更多

Longli 1 ( Chenopod/um qu/noa Willd) was the first new quinoa variety in China, which was bred by Pasture and Green Agriculture Institute of Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences through the methods of line breeding, cultivation and domestication. In muhipeint regional test, the average yield of Longli 1 was 2 100. (30 kg/hm2, which was increased by 9.6% compared to Jingle qulnoa. Langli 1 was a mid-late mature quinoa variety. The plant was brcom-shape, with the plant height of 181.2 - 223.6 cm, the growth period of 128 - 140 d, and the branch number of 23 - 27. The seeds were round pill shaped, with 1 000-grain weight of 2.40 -3.46 g. The contents of crude protein, fat, proline and total phosphorus in seeds were 171.5 -187.8, 56.5 -59.3, 5.5 -6.9 and 4.5 -6.8 g/kg, re- spectively. I_ongli 1 presented resistance against downy mildew and leaf spot, with strong disease-resistant ability. In multipeint regional test and production test, Longli 1 displayed lodging resistance with strong regeneration ability. It also presented resistance to cold, drought, saline and alkaline, and barren, with wide adaptability. Longh 1 was suitable for planting in mountains, plain field and irrigation area with frost-free period greater than 120 d, rainfall more than 250 mm, and altitude 1 500 -3 000 m. Shanghua 511 is a high-yield, high-oil and web blotch-resistant big peanut variety bred by the Shangqiu Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences through sexual hybridization (Yuhua 18♀×Shangyan 9658♂). In the wheat-peanut interplanting regional experiment conducted in Henan Province during 2012-2013, the average pod and seed yield of Shanghua 511 were 5906.19 and 4149.3 kg/hm2, respectively. In the wheat-peanut interplanting production experiment conducted in Henan Province in 2013, the average pod and seed yield of Shanghua 511 were 6036.45 and 4309.50 kg/hm2, respectively. In the kernels of Shanghua 511, the contents of crude fat, oleic acid and linoleic acid were 56.62%, 44.9% and 33.4% respectively, and the oleic/linoleic acid ratio was 1.34. This variety had high resistance to web blotch and medium resistance to leaf spot, viral diseases, root rot and collar rot. The 100-pod weight, 100-kernel weight, shelling percentage and growth period of Shanghua 511 were 270.6, 110.9 g, 70.6% and 120 d, respectively. Shanghua 511 passed the approval of Henan Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in August, 2015, and is suitable for spring sowing and wheat interplanting in the surrounding area of Henan Province and the area to the north of Huaihe River. 展开更多

The new tussah varieties have been bred by selecting large, high quality and midterm based on the indexes of high cocoon shell rate and high stress re- sistance. In the meantime, whole cocoon weight, hatchabillty and other economic parameters were considered in new variety breeding. Through 14 generations of hybrid breeding for over 7 years, two new tussah varieties had been successfully obtained. The breeding results of DW were as follows : the 1 000-cocoon weight was 11.57 kg; the whole cocoon weight was 12.06 g; the cocoon shell rate was 12.22% ; and the larval-pupal integrated survival rate was 95.87%. The breeding re- sults of GH were as follows: the 1 000-cocoon weight was 11.52 kg; the whole cocoon weight was 11.95 g; the cocoon shell rate was 12.66% ; and the larval-pupal integrated survival rate was 90.37%. 展开更多

[Objectives]To study the breeding of a new sugarcane variety Yuetang 08776 suitable for mechanized production.[Methods]With Yuetang 96-86 as the female parent and Yuetang 99-66 as the male parent,Yuetang 08776 was bred by the Bioengineering Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences.It was approved as a non-major crop variety by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in December,2019.Through many years of multi-pilot trials,the characters,traits and disease resistance of Yuetang 08776 were investigated,and the key points of its cultivation technique were summarized.[Results]Yuetang 08776 is characterized by medium maturity,high sugar content,high and stable yield,strong cold and drought resistance,large number of effective stems,strong ratooning ability and lodging resistance.Yuetang 08776 has excellent agronomic traits,and has been identified as moderately resistant to smut and mosaic disease.The average cane yield of Yuetang 08776 was 119.89 t/ha,18.50 t/ha higher than that of CK,an increase of 18.25%.The average sugar yield was 17.15,2.11 t/ha higher than that of CK,an increase of 14.03%.The average sucrose content of Yuetang 08776 in the early period(November to December)was 13.20%,0.71 percentage points lower than that of CK;in the middle and late period(January to March of the following year),the average sucrose content was 15.23%,0.22 percentage points lower than that of CK;and the average sucrose content of the whole period was 14.21%,0.47 percentage points lower than that of CK.[Conclusions]Yuetang 08776 is a sugarcane variety with medium maturity,high sugar,high and stable yield,strong resistance and good ratooning.It is suitable for mechanized seeding,management and harvesting,and suitable for planting and popularizing in most sugarcane production areas of Guangdong,Guangxi and Yunnan. 展开更多

Trends in Breeding New Olive Varieties in Israel for Quality and Economic Management

The domesticated olives originated based on decades of selection from the natural forest around the Mediterranean basin being one of the oldest cultivated tree crops. The requirement for new olive varieties increased markedly during the last 100 years as a result of a worldwide transformation changing from a traditional extensive to a modern intensive mechanized industry. The traditional olive cultivars still widely used are selections from the local autochthonous cultivars which are well adapted to their natural environment. However, the level of production of those is usually rather low and many of them failed to respond enough to modern intensification methods. The wild olive population is gradually diminishing in all regions thus, natural selection is not efficient enough for developing the cultivars required for the new intensive olive industry. Cross breeding between cultivars with specific characters became the basis for the required new cultivars. The genetic diversity in progenies of most olive cultivars is extremely wide and thus becomes the basic source for breeding of the needed new cultivars. However, the genetic information on olive heredity and identification of specific gene characteristics is still limited. Genomic information is required for rational choice of genitors in accordance with each breeding aim, particularly as most criteria required for the new varieties are of multi-gene nature. The availability of advanced genomic information will also serve as basis for molecular engineering when accepted for use in the olive commodity. Geographically isolated olive populations developed during generations of inbreeding in remote regions are another important genetic resource of characters required for breeding the cultivars for the new modern mechanized olive orchards. The use of molecular markers based on AFLP, SSRs, DArT and SNPs is important for the choice of genitors leading to a reduction of the progeny size required in olive breeding. Breeding and Evaluation of New Iron Yam (Dioscorea opposita Thunb) Varieties

[Objective] This study was conducted to develop some new iron yam (Dioscorea opposita) varieties with excellent cooking, eating and nutritional qualities. [Method] The fresh weight per plant, drying rate, dry weight per plant, yield, allan- toin content, water soluble extract content and disease resistance of seven new iron yam cultivars (No.1, No.2, No.4, No.6, No.8, No.9 and No.10) obtained through spaceflight mutation breeding were measured and compared with control (No.11). Then, the nutrition quality of two elite cultivars No. 6 and No.10 was determined by comparing with the control. [Result] The eight iron yam cultivars ranked in descend- ing order of their fresh weight per plant as follows: No.6(0.255 kg)〉No.10(0.254 kg)〉 No.4(0.242 kg)〉No.9(0.237 kg)〉No.1(0.233 kg)〉No.11(0.206 kg)〉No.2(0.191 kg)〉No.8 (0.157 kg). There was no significant difference in fresh weight per plant between No.6 and No.10, but extremely significant difference between No.6 and the control, No.10 and the control. The eight iron yam cultivars ranked in descending order of their drying rate as follows: No.2 (32.641%)〉No.10 (32.230%)〉No.9 (28.223%)〉No.6 (25.174%)〉No.8(25.122%)〉No.11 (25.043%)〉No.1 (24.291%)〉No.4(20.234%). The dry- ing rate of both No.6 and No.10 was higher than that of the control. The eight iron yam cultivars ranked in descending order of their dry weight per plant as follows: No.10(0.082 kg)〉No.9(0.067 kg)〉No.6(0.064 kg)〉No.2(0.062 kg)〉No.1(0.056 kg)〉No.11 (0.052 kg)〉No.4 (0.049 kg)〉No.8 (0.039 kg). The dry weight per plant of both No.6 and No.10 is higher than that of the control. The eight iron yam cultivars ranked in descending order of their allantoin content as follows No.6 (0.484%)〉No.4 (0.467%)〉 No.10 (0.399%)〉No.ll (0.386%)〉No.9 (0.378%)〉No.8 (0.350%)〉No.2 (0.342)〉No.1 (0.325%). The allantoin content of No.6 was significantly higher than that of No.10 and the control. There was significant difference in allantoin content between No.6 and No.10, but no significant difference between No 10 and the control. The eight iron yam cultivars ranked in descending order of their extract content as follows No. 6(20.49%)〉No.2(16.01%)〉No.4(15.54%) 〉No. 10(15.35%)〉No. 1 (14.48%)〉No. 11 (14.10%) 〉No.9(13.88%)〉No.8(11.87%). The extract content of No.6 exhibited extremely sig- nificant difference with that of No.10 and the control, and the extract content of No. 10 was also significantly different from that of the control. The taste of No.10 was dry, soft, floury, sweet and fragrant, better than that of the other seven cultivars. No.6 had the strongest resistance to Gloeosporium pestis and Cylindrosporium dioscoreae. No.10 had a middle resistance to G. pestis and a strong resistance to C. dioscoreae. No.6 and No.10 had higher contents of starch, reducing sugar, pro- tein and ash, lower water content and better nutrition quality than the control. [Conclusion] No.10 can be popularized as a new variety of edible iron yam, and No.6 as a new variety of medicinal iron yam. 展开更多

‘Dianyinhua 3’is bred through the selection of a good single variant plant based on Hunan Lonicerae Flos variety‘Xianglei 1’as the basic material.The scions of the variant plant were grafted and propagated with wi... ‘Dianyinhua 3’is bred through the selection of a good single variant plant based on Hunan Lonicerae Flos variety‘Xianglei 1’as the basic material.The scions of the variant plant were grafted and propagated with wild Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz.as rootstocks.This variety belongs to L.macaroides,which has the characteristics of early flowering,large and numerous buds,concentrated flowering and abundant yield.The content of chlorogenic acid is as high as 6%,and the content of luteolin is 0.017%.It matures from late May to early June in Yunnan.The buds are rod-shaped,slightly curved,4.6-5.8 cm long,with a diameter of 6.47 mm at the top and 2.68 mm at the bottom,and the petals have a thickness of 0.33 mm.The thousand-flower bud weight was 15.8-18.2 g,and the average yield of dried flowers per plant was 1360-1680 g in the peak period,and the yield was 4887 kg/hm^2.It is suitable for the introduction and trial planting in Xiangyang Mountainous Area or rocky desertification mountainous area in Yunnan,with an altitude lower than 2200 m or in areas with similar climates such as Sichuan,Guizhou and Guangxi. 展开更多

Based on the results of the national regional trail for winter rapeseed in four groups,including the upper reaches,middle reaches and lower reaches of Yangtze River and Huang-Huai region in the past twenty years,new varieties of winter rapeseed showed upward trend in average yield,the yield level in Huang-huai group was higher than other groups.The changes of average effective pods per plant were not significant in any group,but the number of grain per pod and 1 000-grain weight showed increase trend.However,the increment of grains per pod in three Yangtze River groups was higher than that in Huang-Huai River group,while the increment of 1 000-grain weight was just opposite.The incidence rate of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and viral disease in new varieties of winter rapeseed obviously decreased,and the incidence rate of S.sclerotiorum decreased lower than 5%.Genetic improvement for winter rapeseed should be focus on the number of grain per pod and 1 000-grain weight in the future,and yield level of new varieties in all four groups is expected to increase. 展开更多
