Interpretation of Pharmaceutical Pictograms by Pharmacy and Non-Pharmacy University Students

Background: The present study was undertaken to evaluate the correct interpretation by university students of internationally available pictograms and to assess the ability of the pictograms to convey the intended messages. Aim: To compare the ability of pharmacy and non-pharmacy students to comprehend pharmaceutical pictograms. Method: Twenty eight internationally available (United States Pharmacopoeial Convention Inc. USP) pictograms were used throughout this study, which was conducted with 300 pharmacy and non-pharmacy students. Questionnaires included relevant questions, and participants were instructed to study the pictograms and write their interpretations. The American National Standards Institute requirement of 85% correctness criterion was used for correct interpretation. Differences between responses of the two groups were calculated using SPSS version 18 and p < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The majority of pharmacy (98%) and non-pharmacy (86%) students stated that pictograms should be included in medicine leaflet and they were helpful for all patients. Out of the 28 pictograms 7 (25%) and 2 (7.1%) of them achieved the ANSI requirement of 85% correctness criterion by pharmacy and non-pharmacy students respectively. Conclusion: Interventions to increase public awareness of the usefulness of pharmaceutical pictograms are needed. 展开更多

We aimed to investigate if college students’ dietary and physical activity adhered to the Chinese Dietary Guidelines, the Composing Editorial Board of Physical Activity Guidelines, and WHO recommendation for NCDs prevention. Methods: A 3-day (2 weekdays and 1 weekend day) 24-hour (24-HRs) dietary recall was conducted to record details of participants’ food consumption. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied to examine the influence of the identified demographic variables (including BMI, gender, major, family monthly income, and place of household registration) on the 8 food groups’ consumption. We analyzed the effect of the various demographic variables on sodium intake by the student’s t-test. The questionnaire, International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ)-Short Form, was utilized to assess participants’ physical activity (PA) level. The Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney was applied to analyze participants’ physical activity. Results: Our research indicated participants consumed much fewer fruits and vegetables and excessive meats on average for both males and females regarding NCDs prevention. Conclusion: Participants’ dietary intake did not comply with the Chinese Dietary Guide-lines recommendation for chronic diseases prevention. Objective: To study and compare the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain in Medical and non-medical students and find out the specific factors associated with the occurrence of this pain. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study from March-May 2017 where a total of 400 medical and 350 non-medical students were registered using a structured questionnaire made by modification of Nordic questionnaire. Characteristics of musculoskeletal pain were determined Pain was also graded by using a grading scale. Results: Mean age for medical and non-medical students was 21.36 and 20.97 respectively. The prevalence of musculoskeletal pain was higher among females. More data were collected from 2nd and 5th year of medical and 1st and 2nd year of non-medical students. High incidence was found in medical students with occurrence mostly in Neck. This frequency of musculoskeletal pain was quiet high during the last 7 days. The long study hours and use of computer/laptop were found to be greater among medical undergraduates but no significant association was found in medical unlike non-medical students. Majority of undergraduate students reported a normal BMI. Our study has found no co-relation of BMI with prevalence of pain. It was also observed that medical students with musculoskeletal pain spent more time on travelling when compared to non-medical. Association was found with the use of back packs. The study observed the level of many daily activities like exercise and outdoor sports etc. but no significant relation was found. Conclusion: Prevalence of musculoskeletal pain among undergraduate students is truly high, more so in medical students. Medical students have shown no association of studying for long hours and use of computer/laptop with musculoskeletal pain when compared to non-medical students. More studies should be done to know contributing factors of musculoskeletal pain among undergraduate students. 展开更多

目的探讨中学生学习倦怠、睡眠质量对非自杀性自伤(NSSI)行为的影响。方法采用多阶段分层整群随机抽样,选取遵义市5838名中学生进行现场调查,采用自编调查问卷、青少年学习倦怠量表、匹兹堡睡眠质量指数量表(PSQI)、青少年自我伤害行为... 目的探讨中学生学习倦怠、睡眠质量对非自杀性自伤(NSSI)行为的影响。方法采用多阶段分层整群随机抽样,选取遵义市5838名中学生进行现场调查,采用自编调查问卷、青少年学习倦怠量表、匹兹堡睡眠质量指数量表(PSQI)、青少年自我伤害行为问卷评价中学生学习倦怠、睡眠质量及NSSI行为,采用χ^(2)检验、分层回归及路径分析进行统计分析。结果中学生NSSI行为检出率为18.07%,不同性别、年级、学校NSSI行为检出率差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05);身心耗竭、学业疏离、低成就感及睡眠质量能正向预测NSSI行为的发生(P均<0.05);路径分析显示,身心耗竭、低成就感对NSSI行为的发生有间接效应,学业疏离对NSSI行为的发生有直接和间接效应,睡眠质量直接作用于NSSI行为。结论中学生NSSI行为检出率呈较高水平,学习倦怠(身心耗竭、学业疏离、低成就感)、睡眠质量是影响NSSI行为发生的重要因素,应持续推进“双减”政策,降低中学生学习倦怠水平,保障睡眠健康。 展开更多

目的:探究《国家学生体质健康标准(2014年修订)》(以下简称“《标准》”)测试项目调整对学生成绩的影响,为《标准》测试项目优化发展提供理论参考与实践支持。方法:3000名小学六年级和初中一年级学生分别进行《标准》(小学六)和《标准》... 目的:探究《国家学生体质健康标准(2014年修订)》(以下简称“《标准》”)测试项目调整对学生成绩的影响,为《标准》测试项目优化发展提供理论参考与实践支持。方法:3000名小学六年级和初中一年级学生分别进行《标准》(小学六)和《标准》(初中一)测试(有效测试人数2870人),对比两次测试成绩差异。结果:(1)学生《标准》(小学六)非共性项目得分、总得分显著高于《标准》(初中一)非共性项目得分、总得分;(2)女生《标准》(初中一)非共性项目得分、总得分显著高于男生《标准》(初中一)非共性项目得分;(3)学生《标准》成绩在组别性别上存在交叉效应,男生得分的下降幅度高于女生。结论:(1)《标准》测试项目调整显著影响小初衔接阶段学生测试成绩;(2)《标准》测试项目调整后,男生成绩的下降幅度显著大于女生。为有效应对《标准》测试项目调整带来的影响,应统一男女《标准》非共性项目数量,同时降低男生《标准》非共性项目难度。 展开更多

背景自杀意念是非自杀性自伤(NSSI)行为的敏感预测指标,NSSI行为深刻影响着高中生心身健康。现有研究对一般人群的失眠、焦虑以及NSSI行为的关系进行了探索,但关于伴自杀意念的高中生NSSI行为的内部作用机制有待进一步研究。目的探讨伴... 背景自杀意念是非自杀性自伤(NSSI)行为的敏感预测指标,NSSI行为深刻影响着高中生心身健康。现有研究对一般人群的失眠、焦虑以及NSSI行为的关系进行了探索,但关于伴自杀意念的高中生NSSI行为的内部作用机制有待进一步研究。目的探讨伴自杀意念的高中生的焦虑情绪在失眠与NSSI行为之间的作用路径,为高中生NSSI行为的干预提供参考。方法于2021年12月10日—15日,采用整群抽样,选取湖北省三所高中的2572名高中生为研究对象。采用失眠严重程度指数量表(ISI)、广泛性焦虑障碍量表(GAD-7)以及青少年自我伤害问卷进行调查。采用Spearman相关分析考查伴自杀意念的高中生各量表评分的相关性。采用SPSS 20.0插件Process 4.2中的模型4检验焦虑情绪在失眠与NSSI行为之间的作用路径。结果共回收有效问卷2421份(94.13%)。检出存在自杀意念者554人(22.88%),存在NSSI行为者408人(16.85%)。伴自杀意念的高中生ISI评分、GAD-7评分和青少年自我伤害问卷评分均高于无自杀意念的高中生(Z=17.124、20.611、21.314,P均<0.01)。相关分析结果显示,伴自杀意念的高中生ISI评分与GAD-7评分和青少年自我伤害问卷评分均呈正相关(r=0.646、0.354,P均<0.01),GAD-7评分与青少年自我伤害问卷评分呈正相关(r=0.375,P<0.01)。伴自杀意念的高中生的焦虑情绪是失眠与NSSI行为之间的作用路径,间接效应值为0.111(95%CI:0.053~0.185),占总效应的53.88%。结论伴自杀意念的高中生的失眠情况既能直接影响NSSI行为,又能通过焦虑情绪间接影响其NSSI行为。 展开更多

非医学高等院校学生CPR混合式培训模式实践

目的:探讨混合式教学模式在非医高等院校学生CPR培训中的应用效果,为推进社会公众CPR技能培训提供方法和策略。方法:选取某地2所非医学高等院校学生,实施基于BOPPPS模型的混合式教学模式的CPR技能培训,分别调查培训前后CPR相关知识掌握... 目的:探讨混合式教学模式在非医高等院校学生CPR培训中的应用效果,为推进社会公众CPR技能培训提供方法和策略。方法:选取某地2所非医学高等院校学生,实施基于BOPPPS模型的混合式教学模式的CPR技能培训,分别调查培训前后CPR相关知识掌握情况、CPR急救意愿和学习意愿,并在培训后进行急救技能操作水平、教学效果满意度评价。结果:培训前后大学生对CPR认知和知识掌握情况对比具有显著差异(P<0.001);培训后CPR操作考核平均得分为84分,正确实施按压的比例高达92.0%;培训后大学生对CPR和AED操作有实践自信的比例分别为87.9%和84.7%,且对基于BOPPPS模型的混合式教学模式的CPR技能培训效果满意度为97.7%。结论:基于BOPPPS模型的混合式教学模式在大学生CPR培训中收到较好效果,能够有效促进大学生CPR实践自信。 展开更多
