However, policy makers may not choose the most suitable and efficient locations for strategic petroleum reserve（SPR） due to the...An important decision for policy makers is selecting strategic petroleum reserve sites. However, policy makers may not choose the most suitable and efficient locations for strategic petroleum reserve（SPR） due to the complexity in the choice of sites. This paper proposes a multi-objective programming model to determine the optimal locations for China＇s SPR storage sites. This model considers not only the minimum response time but also the minimum transportation cost based on a series of reasonable assumptions and constraint conditions. The factors influencing SPR sites are identified to determine potential demand points and candidate storage sites. Estimation and suggestions are made for the selection of China＇s future SPR storage sites based on the results of this model. When the number of petroleum storage sites is less than or equals 25 and the maximum capacity of storage sites is restricted to 10 million tonnes, the model＇s result best fit for the current layout scheme selected thirteen storage sites in four scenarios. Considering the current status of SPR in China,Tianjin, Qingdao, Dalian, Daqing and Zhanjiang, Chengdu,Xi＇an, and Yueyang are suggested to be the candidate locations for the third phase of the construction plan. The locations of petroleum storage sites suggested in this work could be used as a reference for decision makers.展开更多

The past 50 years' developments in China's space science have witnessed many major missions, and substantial progress has been achieved in space science study, exploration technology as well as experiment technology. Strategic Priority Program on Space Science was officially started in 2011. Through both self-developed space science missions and those with international cooperation,it is expected that the innovative breakthroughs will be realized, leapfrog development of related high-tech will be achieved to establish the important strategic status of space science in national development. To sum up, the implementation of the Strategic Priority Program on Space Science will definitely promote the rapid development of China's space science endeavor, making contributions to China's development and the progress of human civilization.展开更多

The purpose of the study was to find out what kind of impact strategic management has on the growth of profitability. Entrepreneurs＇ financial and strategic objectives were studied, as well as growth strategies and their implications. Studied companies were all located in Finland. The research material was collected by personal interviews in 2008 from 23 entrepreneurs. Their financial statements from 2001 to 2007 were also taken into account. The study found that the role of management seems to be crucial in profitable growth and much more meaningful than, for example, the financial situation. Strategic objectives and chosen growth strategy seem especially to be key elements for successful growth. Particularly in low profit sectors, management should not focus growth purely on current conditions, but also on seeking other ways to exploit the company＇s resources.展开更多
