The model considers the thermal phenomena involved in the process, including conduction, radiation, and convection. A formula for the calculation of the heat conductivity of a sintering system containing solid phase, liquid phase, and gas phase is given. Due to the continuous movement of the laser beam, a local coordinate system centered on the laser beam is used to simplify the analytical calculation. Assuming that it is approximately a Gaussian laser beam, the heat conduction equation is resolved based on the assumption of the thermal insulating boundary conditions and the fixed thermal physical parameters. The FORTRAN language is employed to compile the program to simulate the temperature field in the direct copper powder sintering process. It shows a good agreement with the preliminary experimental results.[KH3/4D]展开更多

Considering that the controllable temperature field is the key during the forming process, a three-layer FEM model, based on the characteristics along LCMS thickness direction, was developed to study the variation rules of temperature field, which was verified robustness by experimental validation. Besides, the influences of process parameters such as plasma arc power, scanning speed and plasma arc diameter on LCMS temperature field were performed. The comparisons of LCMS with single layer metal sheet (SLMS) show the temperature difference of LCMS along thickness direction is smaller than that of SLMS, but the heat-affected zone of LCMS along X axis is wider than that of SLMS under the same process parameters.展开更多

It is found that J_y in metal pad increases first to a highest point and then decreases along anode length. At normal status, the largest J_y is about 0.4A/cm^2 and it locates at about 2/3 of anode length. With longer ledge, the maximum value of J_y decreases and its position moves center-ward. The longer the side ledge, the larger the negative current flowing center-ward at side channel. J_z in metal pad increases with anode length and it is not affected by metal height; while J_y increases with metal height. At AC, current flows toward metal under new anode. At spike, current concentrates at spike rather than evenly distributes. Normally, J_x is almost negligible in metal pad.展开更多

The velocity, temperature and solid fractions of metal droplets with different diameters and under different atomizing pressures were investigated. The results indicate that a higher atomizing pressure results in the increased flying velocity of the metal droplets and a decrease in the cone-shaped angle formed by their flight paths. Synchronously, the cooling of the metal droplets is accelerated and the time of the complete solidification process is shortened. Under the same atomization pressure, large metal droplets have a lower flying speed and a lower rate of temperature decrease in the atomizing chamber than small metal droplets. In addition, metal droplets flying along the edge of the atomizing region cool faster than those flying in the core region.展开更多

The distribution regularities of temperature, temperature gradient, Von Mise’s effective stress, X-directional, Y-directional and Z-directional thermal stresses were studied. LMDS experiments were carried out with nickel-based superalloy using the same process parameters as those in simulation. The measured temperatures of molten pool are in accordance with the simulated results. The crack engendering and developing regularities of samples show good agreement with the simulation results.

文摘The spreading behavior of copper filler metal droplets under arc brazing was studied by numerical simulation method using Surface Evolver software. The mathematical model in which arc pressure force acceleration was added to the droplet microelement as the form of gravity acceleration was used in numerical simulation. Then the 3D filler metal droplet profile for different welding currents was simulated. The results show that the simulation results and the experimental results are in good accordance. And it can be seen that the spreading height decreases and diameter increases with the increasing welding current in an approximate linear relation.

文摘Based on the numerical calculation of 3-D potential distribution in aluminum reduction cells, current distribution in the metal pad is calculated under the following conditions: 1) pot ledge ideally formed; 2) ledge extension to below anode; 3) different metal heights; 4) AC and 5) Spike. Normally, J_x is almost negligible in metal pad.

文摘Numerical simulation for the dynamic response of ceramic/metal armours impacted by deformable projectile is carried out with LS-DYNA3D.The simulated penetration processes are shown. The mushrooming of the projectile is displayed. A distinct conoid shaped zone of fragmented ceramic is observed. A significant bending of the backing plate is revealed. Simulation results match fairly well with the experimental values and the theoretical analysis results. The accuracy of the numerical simulation is validated.

文摘Numerical simulation was performed in an atomizing chamber to investigate the movements and thermal states of the atomized metal droplets in the spray forming process. In addition, metal droplets flying along the edge of the atomizing region cool faster than those flying in the core region.
