Objective: Contribute to improving care for prostate cancer patients in Cote d’Ivoire by identifying the average time before the development of the hormone-resistance and inherent therapeutic strategies. Patients and Method: It was a retro and prospective study over three years performed at the University Teaching Hospital of Treichville in Abidjan. 84 patients with metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma and resistant to hormone therapy were involved in the study. The analysis of clinical records enabled us to integrate different parameters in our study. Results: Our patients were relatively young (an average age of 61 years) and most of them belonged to the middle socio-economic class (50%). The resistance occurred within an average period of 9 months. The mixing of Docetaxel and Prednisone chemotherapy was the most used method of treatment (70% of cases). However, few patients (9.5%) received Abiraterone Acetate. Digestive and hematologic toxicities were noticed but they could be controlled by inherent treatment or disappear spontaneously. After nine months of treatment, 54.24% of patients who received specific treatment were alive, but high rates of mortality were observed as for patients who were only treated symptomatically. Conclusion: The relatively short average time before the development of hormone-resistance shows the aggressiveness of prostate adenocarcinoma from black Africans. The main therapeutic standard in our context remains Taxane-based chemotherapy with a good and fair tolerance. 展开更多

This paper deals with the distributive characteristics of the occurrence time of earthquakes with respect to the aftershock sequences of strong earthquakes. The distribution of lunar and solar local hour angles at the time of commencement of moderate and strong aftershocks indicates that the time of commencement of moderate and strong aftershocks is modulated by the positions of the sun and moon and then the earthquake restrained time zones exists also. In this paper the differences of earthquake restrained time zones between the preshock sequences and the aftershock sequences are compared, and the possible mechanism is analyzed preliminarily. And the possible maximum scope of accuracy in predicting the occurrence time of an earthquake is determined as well. 展开更多

The study of the chlorite coatings always attracts scholars in China and other countries because the chlorite coatings play an important role in the preservation of residual primary pores in sandstone reservoirs.At present,the study of the origin and the controlling factors is relatively few.The occurrence,time of formation,genesis,controlling factors,and the mechanism of chlorite coatings inhibiting quartz overgrowths were studied in detail with thin section and SEM analysis.Samples were from the sandstone reservoirs of the T3x Group in the Baojie area,the transitional zone from the middle to the south of Sichuan Basin.The results indicate that the chlorite coatings on the walls of the pore spaces are oriented perpendicular to grain surfaces in the form of isopachous(even-thickness) grain-coating,while the chlorite coatings at the contacts between adjacent detrital grains are arranged with a preferred orientation tangential to the surface of detrital grains.The chlorite coatings were formed in the eogenetic stage.They were formed by recrystallization of Fe-rich clay films during the syndepositional period,and chlorite cements would be recrystallized after the coatings’ formation.The formation of chlorite coatings was mainly controlled by the depositional environment,provenance conditions,and diagenetic environment.The presence of chlorite coatings could result in the preservation of primary pores in deeply buried sandstone reservoirs by effectively inhibiting quartz overgrowths and the development of compaction and pressure solution. 展开更多
