The trajectory tracking control problem is addressed for autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV) in marine environ?ment, with presence of the influence of the uncertain factors including ocean current disturbance, dynamic modeling uncertainty, and thrust model errors. To improve the trajectory tracking accuracy of AUV, an adaptive backstepping terminal sliding mode control based on recurrent neural networks(RNN) is proposed. Firstly, considering the inaccu?rate of thrust model of thruster, a Taylor’s polynomial is used to obtain the thrust model errors. And then, the dynamic modeling uncertainty and thrust model errors are combined into the system model uncertainty(SMU) of AUV; through the RNN, the SMU and ocean current disturbance are classified, approximated online. Finally, the weights of RNN and other control parameters are adjusted online based on the backstepping terminal sliding mode controller. In addition, a chattering?reduction method is proposed based on sigmoid function. In chattering?reduction method, the sigmoid function is used to realize the continuity of the sliding mode switching function, and the sliding mode switching gain is adjusted online based on the exponential form of the sliding mode function. Based on the Lyapu?nov theory and Barbalat’s lemma, it is theoretically proved that the AUV trajectory tracking error can quickly converge to zero in the finite time. This research proposes a trajectory tracking control method of AUV, which can e ectively achieve high?precision trajectory tracking control of AUV under the influence of the uncertain factors. The feasibility and e ectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated with trajectory tracking simulations and pool?experi?ments of AUV. 展开更多

The current distributions and radiatio... In this letter, a new moment method using helical segments is presented to model Normal Mode Helical Antenna (NMHA). Using this method, the NMHA can be modeled by a few segments. The current distributions and radiation patterns of some NMHAs are calculated.A comparison is made between results obtained using this helical segment algorithm and a linear segment algorithm, and the results of the two algorithms agree fairly well. When calculating the impedance matrix [Z], all the elements of the matrix can be obtained by only calculating a few elements with the application of the symmetric and periodic characteristics of the NMHA.Therefore, the CPU time and the memory storage are significantly reduced, with the accuracy and speed enhanced. 展开更多

The shear failure of rocks under both a static triaxial stress and a dynamic disturbance is common in deep underground engineering and it is therefore essential for the design of underground engineering to quantitively estimate the dynamic ModeⅡfracture toughness KⅡCof rocks under a triaxial stress state.However,the method for determining the dynamic KⅡCof rocks under a triaxial stress has not been developed yet.With an optimal sample preparation,the short core in compression(SCC)method was designed and verified in this study to measure the dynamic KⅡCof Fangshan marble(FM)subjected to different hydrostatic pressures through a triaxial dynamic testing system.The formula for calculating the dynamic KⅡCof the rock SCC specimen under hydrostatic pressures was obtained by using the finite element method in combination with secondary cracks.The experimental results indicate that the failure mode of the rock SCC specimen under a hydrostatic pressure is the shear fracture and the KⅡCof FM increases as the loading rate.In addition,at a given loading rate the dynamic rock KⅡCis barely affected by hydrostatic pressures.Another important observation is that the dynamic fracture energy of FM enhances with loading rates and hydrostatic pressures. 展开更多

In order to investigate the stability problem of shield tunnel faces subjected to seismic loading,the pseudodynamic method(P-DM)was employed to analyze the seismic effect on the face.Two kinds of failure mechanisms of active collapse and passive extrusion were considered,and a seismic reliability model of shield tunnel faces under multifailure mode was established.The limit analysis method and the response surface method(RSM)were used together to solve the reliability of shield tunnel faces subjected to seismic action.Comparing with existing results,the results of this work are effective.The effects of seismic load and rock mass strength on the collapse pressure,extrusion pressure and reliability index were discussed,and reasonable ranges of support pressure of shield tunnel faces under seismic action were presented.This method can provide a new idea for solving the shield thrust parameter under the seismic loading. 展开更多

Short-term traffic flow forecasting is a significant part of intelligent transportation system.In some traffic control scenarios,obtaining future traffic flow in advance is conducive to highway management department to have sufficient time to formulate corresponding traffic flow control measures.In hence,it is meaningful to establish an accurate short-term traffic flow method and provide reference for peak traffic flow warning.This paper proposed a new hybrid model for traffic flow forecasting,which is composed of the variational mode decomposition(VMD)method,the group method of data handling(GMDH)neural network,bi-directional long and short term memory(BILSTM)network and ELMAN network,and is optimized by the imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA)method.To illustrate the performance of the proposed model,there are several comparative experiments between the proposed model and other models.The experiment results show that 1)BILSTM network,GMDH network and ELMAN network have better predictive performance than other single models;2)VMD can significantly improve the predictive performance of the ICA-GMDH-BILSTM-ELMAN model.The effect of VMD method is better than that of EEMD method and FEEMD method.To conclude,the proposed model which is made up of the VMD method,the ICA method,the BILSTM network,the GMDH network and the ELMAN network has excellent predictive ability for traffic flow series. 展开更多

The neutral grounding mode of medium-voltage distribution network decides the reliability, overvoltage, relay protection and electrical safety. Therefore, a comprehensive consideration of the reliability, safety and economy is particularly important for the decision of neutral grounding mode. This paper proposes a new decision method of neutral point grounding mode for mediumvoltage distribution network. The objective function is constructed for the decision according the life cycle cost. The reliability of the neutral point grounding mode is taken into account through treating the outage cost as an operating cost. The safety condition of the neutral point grounding mode is preserved as the constraint condition of decision models, so the decision method can generate the most economical and reliable scheme of neutral point grounding mode within a safe limit. The example is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the decision method. 展开更多

For accurate trajectory tracking and obstacle avoidance in finite time of a nonholonomic mobile robot,a trajectory tracking controller based on global fast terminal sliding mode method is proposed,which has the advantages of chattering-free and adjustable convergence time.First of all,the kinematics model of the robot is established in mobile carrier coordinates.Secondly,the global structure including terminal attractor and exponential convergence of the fast terminal sliding mode trajectory tracking controller is proved by Lyapunov stability theory,ensuring that the trajectory and heading angle tracking error converges to a smaller zero range in finite time.Finally,the artificial potential field obstacle avoidance method is introduced to make the robot not only track the reference trajectory strictly,but also avoid the obstacles.The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve a stable tracking control in finite time for a given reference trajectory. 展开更多

In this model, a cubic B-spline segment is taken as an element, and the finite element method is adopted to solve the energy minimization problem of the B-spline active contour, thus to implement image segmentation. Objective To explore the differences in three different registration methods of cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)-guided down-regulated intense radiation therapy for lung cancer as well as the effects of tumor location,treatment mode,and tumor size on registration.Methods This retrospective analysis included 80 lung cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy in our hospital from November 2017 to October 2019 and compared automatic bone registration,automatic grayscale(t+r)registration,and automatic grayscale(t)positioning error on the X-,Y-,and Z-axes under three types of registration methods.The patients were also grouped according to tumor position,treatment mode,and tumor size to compare positioning errors.Results On the X-,Y-,and Z-axes,automatic grayscale(t+r)and automatic grayscale(t)registration showed a better trend.Analysis of the different treatment modes showed differences in the three registration methods;however,these were not statistically significant.Analysis according to tumor sizes showed significant differences between the three registration methods(P<0.05).Analysis according to tumor positions showed differences in the X-and Y-axes that were not significant(P>0.05),while the autopsy registration in the Z-axis showed the largest difference in the mediastinal and hilar lymph nodes(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment mode was not the main factor affecting registration error in lung cancer.Three registration methods are available for tumors in the upper and lower lungs measuring<3 cm;among these,automatic gray registration is recommended,while any gray registration method is recommended for tumors located in the mediastinal hilar site measuring<3 cm and in the upper and lower lungs≥3 cm. 展开更多

This approach is highly accurate for scenarios with weak coupling between the cores but shows significant errors in the strong coupling scenarios, necessitating the use of a more accurate method for coupling coefficient calculations. Therefore, in this work, we calculate the coupling coefficients of TCFs using the supermode theory with finite element method (FEM) that has higher accuracy than CMT, particularly for the strong coupling TCF. To investigate the origin of the differences between the results obtained by these two methods, the modal field distributions of the supermodes of TCF are simulated and analyzed in detail. </div> 展开更多

Finally, the method introduced in this paper is used to calculate the critical speeds of anew-type spindle on the spinning frame. An industrial building is a non-classically damped system due to the different damping properties of the primary structure and equipment.The objective of this paper is to quantify the range of applicability of the real model superposition approximation method to the seismic response calculation of industrial buildings.The analysis using lumped mass-and-shear spring models indicates that for the equipment-to-structure frequency ratiosγf>1.1 orγf<0.9,the non-classical damping effect is limited,and the real mode superposition approximation method provides accurate estimates.For 0.9<γf<1.1,the system may have a pair of closely spaced frequency modes,and the non-zero off-diagonal damping terms have a non-negligible effect on the damping ratios and mode shape vectors of these modes.For 0.9<γf<1.1 and the equipment-to-structure mass ratiosγm<0.07,the real mode superposition approximation method results in large errors,while the approximation method can provide an accurate estimation for 0.9<γf<1.1 andγm>0.07.Furthermore,extensive parametric analyses are conducted,where both steel structures and reinforced concrete structures with equipment with various damping ratios are considered.Finally,the finite element analysis of a five-story industrial building is adopted to validate the proposed range of applicability. 展开更多

We propose an improved finite temperature Lanczos method using the stochastic state selection method. In the finite temperature Lanczos method, we generate Lanczos states and calculate the eigenvalues. In addition we have to calculate matrix elements that are the values of an operator between two Lanczos states. In the calculations of the matrix elements we have to keep the set of Lanczos states on the computer memory. Therefore the memory limits the system size in the calculations. Here we propose an application of the stochastic state selection method in order to weaken this limitation. This method is to select some parts of basis states stochastically and to abandon other basis state. Only by the selected basis states we calculate the inner product. After making the statistical average, we can obtain the correct value of the inner product. By the stochastic state selection method we can reduce the number of the basis states for calculations. As a result we can relax the limitation on the computer memory. In order to study the Higgs mode at finite temperature, we calculate the dynamical correlations of the two spin operators in the spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square lattice using the improved finite temperature Lanczos method. Our results on the lattices of up to 32 sites show that the Higgs mode exists at low temperature and it disappears gradually when the temperature becomes large. At high temperature we do not find this mode in the dynamical correlations. 展开更多

Magnetic reconnection and tearing mode instability play a critical role in many physical processes.The application of Galerkin spectral method for tearing mode instability in two-dimensional geometry is investigated in this paper.A resistive magnetohydrodynamic code is developed,by the Galerkin spectral method both in the periodic and aperiodic directions.Spectral schemes are provided for global modes and local modes.Mode structures,resistivity scaling,convergence and stability of tearing modes are discussed.The effectiveness of the code is demonstrated,and the computational results are compared with the results using Galerkin spectral method only in the periodic direction.The numerical results show that the code using Galerkin spectral method individually allows larger time step in global and local modes simulations,and has better convergence in global modes simulations. 展开更多

A dynamic-mode-decomposition-based acceleration method for unsteady adjoint equations at low Reynolds numbers

The computational cost of unsteady adjoint equations remains high in adjoint-based unsteady aerodynamic op-timization.In this letter,the solution of unsteady adjoint equations is accelerated by dynamic mode decomposi-tion(DMD).The pseudo-time marching of every real-time step is approximated as an infinite-dimensional linear dynamical system.Thereafter,DMD is utilized to analyze the adjoint vectors sampled from these pseudo-time marching.First-order zero frequency mode is selected to accelerate the pseudo-time marching of unsteady adjoint equations in every real-time step.Through flow past a stationary circular cylinder and an unsteady aerodynamic shape optimization example,the efficiency of solving unsteady adjoint equations is significantly improved.Re-sults show that one hundred adjoint vectors contains enough information about the pseudo-time dynamics,and the adjoint dominant mode can be precisely predicted only by five snapshots produced from the adjoint vectors,which indicates DMD analysis for pseudo-time marching of unsteady adjoint equations is efficient. 展开更多

We compare three different methods to extract coherent modes from Doppler backscattering (DBS), which are center of gravity (COG) of the complex amplitude spectrum, spectrum of DBS phase derivative (phase derivative method), and phase spectrum, respectively. These three methods are all feasible to extract coherent modes, for example, geodesic acoustic mode oscillation. However, there are stilI differences between dealing with high frequency modes (several hundred kHz) and low frequency modes, (several kHz) hiding in DBS signal. There is a significant amount of power at low frequencies in the phase spectrum, which can be removed by using the phase derivative method and COG. High frequency modes are clearer by using the COO and the phase derivative method than the phase spectrum. The spectrum of DBS amplitude does not show the coherent modes detected by using COG, phase derivative method and phase spectrum. When two Doppler shifted peaks exist, coherent modes and their harmonics appear in the spectrum of DBS amplitude, which are introduced by the DBS phase. 展开更多

A meshless method integrated with linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM)is presented for 2D mixed-mode crack propagation analysis.The domain is divided automatically into sub-domains based on Voronoi cells,which are used for quadrature for the potential energy. The continuous crack propagation is simulated with an incremental crack-extension method which assumes a piecewise linear discretization of the unknown crack path.For each increment of the crack extension,the meshless method is applied to carry out a stress analysis of the cracked structure.The J-integral,which can be decomposed into mode Ⅰ and mode Ⅱ for mixed-mode crack,is used for the evaluation of the stress intensity factors(SIFs).The crack-propagation direction,predicted on an incremental basis, is computed by a criterion defined in terms of the SIFs. The flowchart of the proposed procedure is presented and two numerical problems are analyzed with this method.The meshless results agree well with the experimental ones,which validates the accuracy and efficiency of the method. 展开更多
