When the tension is different with the compression modulus, EI is the function of internal force and is not constant any more that is different from classic mechanics. In the other words, it is a nonlinear problem to calculate the internal force. The expression for neutral axis of the statically indeterminate structure was derived in the paper. The iterative program for nonlinear internal force was compiled. One case study was presented to illustrate the difference between the results using the different modulus theory and the single modulus theory as in classical mechanics. Finally, some reasonable suggestions were made for the different modulus structures.展开更多

It compares political transformations in transition countries along the continuum between authoritarian and democratic regimes in the years since the collapse of the Soviet Union in December 1991. It provides a general overview of findings on political support across certain post-communist nations by ordering them from most basic to more specific form of support. The broadest base of support is support for the political community, the next considered level is support for the democratic regime. The last two more specific levels are confidence in parliaments and confidence is expressed for political parties. Post-Soviet countries considered in the paper are Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Georgia. WVS 1995, 2005 and EVS 2000, 2008 surveys are used as empirical basis of the analysis.展开更多

Given this, we directly in situ transform the residual iron present in raw single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) into Fe_(2)O_(3) and thus build Fe_(2)O_(3)-CNT as the model system. Intriguingly, an anomalous self-optimization occurred on SWCNT and the derived components show satisfactory electrochemical performance. Soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy (sXAS) analysis and theory calculation correspondingly indicate that self-optimization yields stronger interaction between SWCNT and Fe_(2)O_(3) nanoparticles, where the electrons migrate from Fe_(2)O_(3) to optimized SWCNT. Such polarization will generate a positive charge center and thus boost the OER activity. This finding directly observes the self-optimization of support effect, providing a new perspective for OER and related electrochemical reactions.展开更多
