Poly(diethyl fumarate-co-methoxyethyl acrylate-co-vinyl chloroacetate)(PDEFMV),a novel bio-based elastomer with a saturated structure,was synthesized via redox emulsion polymerization.The glass-transition temperatures...Poly(diethyl fumarate-co-methoxyethyl acrylate-co-vinyl chloroacetate)(PDEFMV),a novel bio-based elastomer with a saturated structure,was synthesized via redox emulsion polymerization.The glass-transition temperatures of PDEFMV,adjusted through the variation of the diethyl fumarate-to-methoxyethyl acrylate feeding ratio,ranged from-36.1 to-14.8 ℃.The number-average molecular weights of PDEFMV ranged from 384,000 to 46,000 g/mol.In designing the molecular structure,vinyl chloroacetate was used to provide active sites for subsequent vulcanization and crosslinking.The active chlorine groups within the PDEFMV chain reacted with the crosslinking agent trithiocyanuric acid under high temperature and pressure to form a nonsulfur crosslinked three-dimensional network structure.To achieve the desired properties,carbon black(CB,N330) was incorporated to reinforce PDEFMV,leading to the formation of PDEFMV/CB composites.A comprehensive study was conducted on the high-temperature oil resistance of PDEFMV/CB composites.Following immersion in IRM903 oil at temperatures of 150 and 200 ℃ for 72 h,the mass and volume changes in PDEFMV/CB were lower than those observed in commercially available acrylate rubber(AR)/CB,indicating that PDEFMV exhibited superior oil resistance.Furthermore,the aging characteristics and mechanisms of oil resistance in the PDEFMV/CB and AR/CB composites were investigated at different temperatures(150,200,and 250 ℃).The results provide insights into the operational temperature ranges suitable for PDEFMV/CB and offer valuable guidance for potential industrial applications.展开更多

The water and oil resistance of paperboard coated with a modified butadiene-styrene copolymer latex and fluorinated anion grease-proof agent was better than that coated with modified butadiene-styrene copolymer latex,where the modified butadiene-styrene copolymer latex was used as the pre-coating substrate and the F1516 fluorinated grease-proof agent was used as the top coating material. By coating modified butadiene-styrene copolymer latex with 30% solid content and F1516 fluorinated grease-proof agent with 24% solid content,the oil resistance of paperboard could reach anti-oil grade 12 and the water resistance could increased by98. 64%( compared with the base paperboard without any coating treatment).展开更多
Nano-SiO2 and/or MoO3 were introduced to ethylene-vinyl acetate/nitrile butadiene rubber (EVA/NBR) blends containing magnesium hydroxide (MH) and red phosphorus (RP) to further improve the mechanical properties,...Nano-SiO2 and/or MoO3 were introduced to ethylene-vinyl acetate/nitrile butadiene rubber (EVA/NBR) blends containing magnesium hydroxide (MH) and red phosphorus (RP) to further improve the mechanical properties, oil resistance, smoke suppression and flame retardancy. The results indicated that the tensile strength and oil resistance were significantly improved by incorporating nano-SiO2. Smoke suppression tests for EVA/NBR blend samples showed that both nano-SiO2 and MoO3 can significantly reduce smoke release amount. The flammability characterization indicated that the blended sample with an LOI value of 33.0 could achieve V-0 level in the UL-94 test. Cone calorimetry test data showed the peak heat release rate was 67% lower than that for pure EVA/NBR. Thermal analysis showed that the presence of both nano-SiO2 and MoO3 was beneficial to promoting char formation of the EVA/NBR blends. Semi-flexible pavement or epoxy asphalt pavement, whic...Cost reduction of public works projects has been desired due to severe financial circumstances. Therefore, asphalt pavement has been requested to extend its life. Semi-flexible pavement or epoxy asphalt pavement, which has high rutting resistance and oil resistance, may be applied to the place where these performances are demanded. However, special technique is required in manufacturing and construction. In addition, these materials have also raised a problem that they cannot be recycled. Meanwhile, conventional asphalt pavement has several drawbacks. It is vulnerable to rutting caused by traffic load and damage caused by petroleum oils such as gasoline or motor oil. The materials used in asphalt mixtures were studied for improving the durability of asphalt mixture. A high stability asphalt concrete was developed which has equal or superior performance to semi-flexible pavement and epoxy asphalt pavement. In this paper, the process of selecting the substance and the characteristics evaluation of the developed mixtures are described. Furthermore, an inspection result as well as follow- up survey of the performance of the developed mixtures obtained from trial and actual construction is shown.展开更多
