Despite excellent material properties, the use of glass fibers in a concrete matrix is carried out so far only in non- structural elements or as a modification for the prevention of shrinkage cracks. The aim of re- search at the University of Applied Sciences in Leipzig is the use of alkali-resistant macro glass fibers as concrete reinforcement in structural elements as an alternative to steel fiber reinforcement. Slabs on ground, as an example for structural members, provide a sensible application for the new material because they can be casted as load bearing and non-load bearing and are mostly made of steel fiber reinforced concrete. In the future, structural glass fiber reinforced concrete shall provide a simple and visually appealing alternative to conventional steel bar or steel fiber reinforced concrete. The glass fibers can also be used in combination with conventional reinforcing bars or mat reinforcements. Initial investigations have announced some potential.展开更多

This paper analyzes the size and distribution of zero sequence voltage and current when one-phase grounding fault occurred in the 110 kV resistance grounding system, and puts forward the grounding protection configuration setting principle of this system combining the power supplying characteristics of 110?kV distribution network. In a reforming substation as an example, the grounding protection of 110 kV lines and transformer have been set and calculated.展开更多

Accordingly this paper puts forward the resistance choosing principle: the resistance grounding coefficient must be equal to or greater than 10. So it can not only wipe out the voltage sag and voltage swell but also make sure the overvoltage is limited to electrical equipment allowing range. The method mentioned above is verified by simulation results of a 110 kV power system in ATP.展开更多

Based on expanding expression of Fourier spectrum of strong ground motion with space coordinate variables, this paper also gives a expression of describing correlation of strong ground motion field. According to far-field condition, the theoretical formula of the expression can be obtained. Furthermore, this paper presents a theoretical formula of estimation the radius of strong ground motion field, which depends on expansion condition of Fourier spectrum of strong ground motion, with space variables. At last, taking one earthquake as an example, this paper gives three-dimension patterns of radius of the field with epicenter distance and azimuth as well as frequency.展开更多

According to the calculated results, the relationship between the molecular static first hyperpolarizability (βμ) and the directions of electron transition has been summarized. In terms of the sign of βμ, these 1D organic chromophores were classified into two categories: type Ⅰ with negative βμ and type Ⅱ bearing positive βμ. The analyses show that the remarkable difference of the first hyperpolarizabilities between Ⅰ and Ⅱ chromophores is associated mainly with the electrostatic interaction between terminal groups and the transport electrons in excited states. Moreover, different from the popular viewpoint, the obtained results also show that most of this series of 1D D-B-A molecules are more charge-separated in the ground states than in the excited states. As a whole, this theoretical investigation, to some extent, can be considered as a useful reference in designing the NLO chromophores with large first hyperpolarizabilities.展开更多

The calculated results show that the parameter BLA can be considered as an indicator to evaluate the molecular first hyper- polarizability. Along the direction of molecular ground-state dipole moments, the evolutions of BLA can be classified into three categories: the first is a non-monotonic line, which represents most chromophores; the second is monotonic increasing; and the third, contrarily, is monotonic decreasing. On the whole, the first hyperpolarizabilities of these studied chromophores are the monotonic functions of BLA along the direction of dipole moments. Therefore, the first hyperpolarizability of these 1D chromophores can be preliminarily evaluated in terms of the development of BLA without a rigorous computation. In other words, one can roughly estimate the relative magnitude of the first hyperpolarizability according to the optimized geometry.展开更多
