This study investigated the effects of dioscorea opposite waste(DOW) on the growth performance, blood parameters, rumen fermentation and rumen microbiota of weaned lambs. Sixty healthy weaned Small-Tailed Han lambs(male,(22.68±2.56) kg initially) were used as the experimental animals. Four levels of concentrate: 0(control, CON), 10%(DOW1), 15%(DOW2) and 20%(DOW3), were replaced with DOW in the basal diet as experimental treatments. The results showed that lambs fed the DOW2 diet had a higher(P<0.05) dry matter intake(DMI) than the other groups. There was no significant difference(P>0.05) among DOW groups in average daily weight gain(ADG), and replacing concentrate with DOW linearly or quadratically increased(P<0.05) the ADG, while lambs fed the DOW2 diet showed greater(P<0.05) ADG than the CON group. The relative plasma concentration of growth hormone(GH), insulin like growth factor-1(IGF-1) and insulin were affected by DOW, replacing concentrate with DOW linearly or quadratically(P<0.05) enhanced the plasma concentration of GH, IGF-1 and insulin, which was significantly higher(P<0.05) in the DOW2 group than in the CON, DOW1 and DOW3 groups. In addition, the DOW treatment showed a lower(P<0.05) concentration of blood urea nitrogen(BUN) than the CON group. Replacing concentrate with DOW quadratically decreased(P<0.05) the ruminal ammonia nitrogen(NH3-N) and increased(P<0.05) the total of volatile fatty acids(TVFAs) at 0 and 4 h after feeding as well as linearly decreased(P<0.05) the NH3-N at 8 h after feeding. Replacing concentrate with DOW linearly decreased(P<0.05) the propionate and increased the aceate before feeding, and linearly decreased(P<0.05) propionate and quadratically increased(P<0.05) the aceate at 4 and 8 h after feeding. Lambs fed the DOW2 diet increased the phylum Firmicutes and genera Succiniclasticum and Ruminococcus_1 groups, whereas decreased(P<0.05) the relative abundance of phylum Deferribacteres and genera intestinimonas and Ruminiclostridium. In summary, replacing the concentrate with 15% DOW was beneficial for improving the rumen fermentation and ADG by increasing the DMI and modulating the rumen microbial community. 展开更多

We construct a mapped bilayer quantum Hall system to realize the proposal that two nearly flatbands have opposite Chern numbers.For the C=±1 case,the two Landau levels of the bilayer experience opposite magnetic fields.We consider a mapped bilayer quantum Hall system at total fillingν_(t)=1/2+1/2where the intralayer interaction is repulsive and the interlayer interaction is attractive.We take exact diagonalization(ED)calculations on a torus to study the phase transition when the separation distance d/l_(B)is driven.The critical point at d_(c)/l_(B)=0.68 is characterized by a collapse of degeneracy and a crossing of energy levels.In the region d/l_(B)<d_(c)/l_(B),the states of each level are highly degenerate.The pair-correlation function indicates electrons with opposite pseudo-spins are strong correlated at r=0.We find an exciton stripe phase composed of bound pairs.The ferromagnetic ground state is destroyed by the strong effective attractive potential.An electron composite-Fermion(eCF)and a hole composite Fermion(hCF)are tightly bound.In the region d/lB>d_(c)/l_(B),a crossover from the d→d_(c)limit to the large d limit is observed.The electron and hole composite Fermion liquids(CFL)are realized by composite Fermions(CF)which attach opposite fluxes,respectively. 展开更多

Linear and nonlinear dust acoustic(DA)waves have been investigated in an opposite polarity dusty plasma comprising negatively and positively charged dust grains,Maxwellian electrons and ions,including the generalized polarization force effect.The properties of linear DA waves have been significantly altered by the dual dust polarity and polarization force.Large amplitude DA solitons have been discussed in the framework of the Sagdeev potential technique.Our results show that both rarefactive and compressive solitons can exist in such a dusty plasma.The basic features of the Sagdeev potential have been examined under the effect of the polarization force parameter R,the ratio of the charge number of the positive dust to that of the negative dust Z,and the Mach number M.The results show that these parameters play a significant role in determining the region of existence of large amplitude DA solitons. 展开更多

By a slight parametric perturbation of Newton’s method we create an oscillating super-linear method approaching the targeted root alternatingly from above and from below. Further extension of Newton’s method creates an oppositely converging quadratic counterpart to it. This new method requires a second derivative, but for it, the average of the two opposite methods rises to become a cubic method. It is challenging for aqueous Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs)to achieve comparable low-temperature(low-T)performance due to the easy-frozen electrolyte and severe Zn dendrites.Herein,an aqueous electrolyte with a low freezing point and high ionic conductivity is proposed.Combined with molecular dynamics simulation and multi-scale interface analysis(time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry threedimensional mapping and in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method),the temperature independence of the V_(2)O_(5)cathode and Zn anode is observed to be opposite.Surprisingly,dominated by the solvent structure of the designed electrolyte at low temperatures,vanadium dissolution/shuttle is significantly inhibited,and the zinc dendrites caused by this electrochemical crosstalk are greatly relieved,thus showing an abnormal temperature inversion effect.Through the disclosure and improvement of the above phenomena,the designed Zn||V_(2)O_(5)full cell delivers superior low-T performance,maintaining almost 99%capacity retention after 9500 cycles(working more than 2500 h)at-20°C.This work proposes a kind of electrolyte suitable for low-T ZIBs and reveals the inverse temperature dependence of the Zn anode,which might offer a novel perspective for the investigation of low-T aqueous battery systems. 展开更多

Many animals have the natural ability to move on various surfaces,such as those having different roughness and slope substrates,or even vertical walls and ceilings.Legged animals primarily attach to surfaces using claws,soft and hairy pads,or combinations of them.Recent studies have indicated that the frictional forces generated by these structures not only control the movement of animals but also significantly increase the reliability of their attachment.Moreover,the frictional forces of various animals have opposite characteristics and hierarchical properties from toe-to-toe and leg-to-leg.These opposite frictional forces allow animals to attach securely and stably during movement.The coordination of several attachment(adhesion)modes not only helps animals adhere,which would be impossible in single mode,but also increases the overall stability of the attachment(adhesion)system.These findings can help the design of highly adaptable feet for bionic robots in the near future. 展开更多

The method of opposite degree (OD) algorithm was put forward to predict the wearing of stellite alloys. OD algorithm is based on prior numerical data, posterior numerical data and the opposite degree between numerical forecast data. To compare the performance of predicted results based on different algorithms, the back propagation (BP) and radial basis function (RBF) neural network methods were introduced. Predicted results show that the relative error of OD algorithm is smaller than those of BP and RBF neural network methods. OD algorithm is an effective method to predict the wearing of stellite alloys and it can be applied in practice. 展开更多

Recently discovered reflective Pancharatnam-Berry phase(PB phase)from chiral anisotropic media(e.g.,cholesteric liquid crystal,CLC)has aroused great interest in the emerging frontier of planar optics.However,the single chirality of common CLCs results in the intrinsic limitation of the same spin-selective PB phase manipulation,which means the reversal of the input spin cannot realize the conjugated PB phase.In this work,an innovative scheme based on opposite-chirality-coexisted superstructures is proposed to simultaneously modulate orthogonal circular polarization and get PB phase reversal.Through refilling CLC into a washed-out polymer network with opposite chirality and delicate photo-patterned structures,reflective optical vortex(OV)with opposite topological charges and vector beams with conjugated spiral PB phases are efficiently generated depending on the incident polarization.Furthermore,OV holograms are encoded to reconstruct polarization-selective OV arrays,indicating the strong capability of such opposite-chirality-coexisted anisotropic media.This work provides a new compact platform for planar optics,and sheds light on the architectures and functionalities of chiral superstructures. 展开更多

The nonlinear propagation of the dust-acoustic bright and dark envelope solitons in an opposite polarity dusty plasma(OPDP) system(composed of non-extensive q-distributed electrons, iso-thermal ions, and positively as well as negatively charged warm dust) has been theoretically investigated. The reductive perturbation method(which is valid for a small, but finite amplitude limit) is employed to derive the nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation. Two types of modes, namely, fast and slow dust-acoustic(DA) modes, have been observed. The conditions for the modulational instability(MI) and its growth rate in the unstable regime of the DA waves are significantly modified by the effects of non-extensive electrons, dust mass, and temperatures of different plasma species, etc. The implications of the obtained results from our current investigation in space and laboratory OPDP medium are briefly discussed. 展开更多

Cryptography is deemed to be the optimum strategy to secure the data privacy in which the data is encoded ahead of time before sharing it.Visual Secret Sharing(VSS)is an encryption method in which the secret message is split into at least two trivial images called’shares’to cover it.However,such message are always targeted by hackers or dishonest members who attempt to decrypt the message.This can be avoided by not uncovering the secret message without the universal share when it is presented and is typically taken care of,by the trusted party.Hence,in this paper,an optimal and secure double-layered secret image sharing scheme is proposed.The proposed share creation process contains two layers such as threshold-based secret sharing in the first layer and universal share based secret sharing in the second layer.In first layer,Genetic Algorithm(GA)is applied to find the optimal threshold value based on the randomness of the created shares.Then,in the second layer,a novel design of universal share-based secret share creation method is proposed.Finally,Opposition Whale Optimization Algorithm(OWOA)-based optimal key was generated for rectange block cipher to secure each share.This helped in producing high quality reconstruction images.The researcher achieved average experimental outcomes in terms of PSNR and MSE values equal to 55.154225 and 0.79365625 respectively.The average PSNRwas less(49.134475)and average MSE was high(1)in case of existing methods. 展开更多

As we know, it is very difficult to stabilize the carrier envelope phase(CEP) of FCL pulses, i.e., there are some random fluctuations for the CEP. Here we theoretically investigate the influence of such instability on the accuracy of THz detection. Our results show that although there is an optimum CEP for THz detection, the fluctuations of the CEP will lead to terrible thorns on the detected THz waveform. A cased-hole acoustic logging technique using the dual source of opposite polarity

It is usually difficult to measure acoustic velocities through a casing, especially when the casing is poorly bonded with formation. An acoustic logging technique using the dual source of opposite polarity is proposed to enhance the Signal to Noise Ratio of the formation signal and to reduce the casing wave in the data acquisition process. In what follows, a theoret- ical modeling is used to caculate the wavefroms of cased wells. And then, a scaled experiment was conducted in the 1:10 scaled experimental well using the proposed technique in the poorly- bonded condition. The results show that this technique can effectively suppress the casing wave and enhance the formation wave, even in the poorly-bonded condition. By analyzing the measured wavefroms, the amplitude of casing wave is reduced to 12% compared to the conventional one-source technique, and the compressional wave velocity can be easily obtained by using this technique. Both the theoretical modeling and experiment results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed technique. Seven homologous series p-A=B-C_6H_4(CH=CH)_nX=Y (A=B: NO_2, X=Y: CHO, COMe, CN, NO_2; A=B: CN, X=Y: CHO, CN; A=B: H, X=Y: NO_2) were synthesized, the effect of opposite terminal groups in phenylpolyenic conjugative systems has been studied by means of UV, XPS, ^(13) C NMR and quantum chemical calculation. The results show that: 1. There exists the effect of opposite terminal groups exists in phenylpolyenic and other aromatic conjugative systems. 2. When A=B and X=Y are the same, the group (-X=Y) connected at polyenic chain is a terminal group, while the other is an opposite terminal group. When the two groups are different, the one with weaker conjugative power plays the role of the opposite terminal group. 3. The effect of opposite terminal groups increases successively in the order of CN, COMe, CHO, NO_2 and can be quantita- tively described with substitute equivalent △N_s. Theλ_(max) of compound containing an opposite terminal group can be calculated by the homologous equation 10^(-4) =a+b/(1/2)^(2/N'^(-S)_a), most of the calculated values are in agreement with experiment results. 展开更多
