The maxima of peaks in plots dR/dλ and dT/dλ versus wavelength of films exhibit optical gaps at about 3.12-3.25 eV.The values of the fundamental indirect band gap obtained from the Tauc model are at about 3.14-3.2 eV. X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis showed that the structure symmetry evolved from orthorhombic to cubic with increasing Mn and Al contents. When y was greater than 0.3, peaks associated with small amounts of BaAl_2O_4 and Ba_2InAlO_5 impurities were observed in the XRD patterns. When substituted with a small amount of Mn(x ≤ 0.3), the Ba_2In_(2-x-y)Mn_xAl_yO_(5+x) samples exhibited an intense turquoise color. The color changed to green and dark-green with increasing Mn concentration. UV–vis absorbance spectra revealed that the color changed only slightly upon Al doping. The valence state of Mn ions in Ba_2In_(2-x-y)Mn_xAl_yO_(5+x) was confirmed to be +5 on the basis of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis. According to this analysis, the intense turquoise color of the Ba_2In_(2-x-y)Mn_xAl_yO_(5+x) samples is rooted in the existence of Mn^(5+); thus, the introduction of Al does not affect the optical properties of the compounds.展开更多

They showed that the topological phases can be revealed by observing the density profile of a trapped fermion system, which displays plateaus with their positions. However, disorders are not considered in their model. To study the effect of disorders on the topological phases, we introduce random potentials to the model for optical superlattcies. Our calculations show that edge states are robust against the disorders. We find the edge states are very sensitive to the number of the sites in the optical superlattice and we propose a simple rule to describe the relationship between the edge states and the number of sites. The density plateaus are also robust against weak disorders provided that the average density is calculated over a long interval. The widths of the plateaus are proportional to the widths of the bulk energy gaps when there are disorders. The disorders can diminish the bulk energy gaps. So the widths of the plateaus decrease with the increase of disorders and the density plateaus disappear when disorders are too strong. The results in our paper can be used to guide the experimental detection of topological phases in one-dimensional systems.展开更多

Here we present an efficient entanglement concentration protocol(ECP) for nonlocal atom systems in the partially entangled W-class states, using the single-photon input-output process regarding low-Q cavity and linear optical elements. Compared with previously published ECPs for the concentration of non-maximally entangled atomic states, our protocol is much simpler and more efficient as it employs the Faraday rotation in cavity quantum electrodynamics(QED) and the parameter-splitting method. The Faraday rotation requires the cavity with low-Q factor and weak coupling to the atom, which makes the requirement for entanglement concentration much less stringent than the previous methods, and achievable with current cavity QED techniques. The parameter-splitting method resorts to linear-optical elements only. This ECP has high efficiency and fidelity in realistic experiments, and some imperfections during the experiment can be avoided efficiently with currently available techniques.展开更多

Quantum entanglement of the transverse plane Hermite–Gauss TEM(01) mode has been demonstrated experimentally in this paper. Two squeezed TEM(01) modes, which are generated by a pair of degenerate optical parametric amplifiers(DOPA) with the nonlinear crystals of periodically poled KTi OPO4, have been combined to produce TEM(01) mode entanglement using a beam splitter. 文摘We propose magnetized gyromagnetic photonic crystals(MGPCs)composed of indium antimonide(InSb)and yttrium iron garnet ferrite(YIGF)layers, which possess the properties of nonreciprocal wide-angle bidirectional absorption.Periodical defects in the MGPCs work as filters.Absorption bands(ABs)for the positive and negative propagations arise from the optical Tamm state and resonance in cavities respectively, and they prove to share no overlaps in the studied frequency range.Givenω=2.0138 THz,for the positive propagation, the ABs in the high-frequency range are localized in the interval between 0.66ωand 0.88ω.In the angular range, the ABs for the TE and TM waves reach 60°and 51°,separately.For the negative propagation, the ABs in the low-frequency range are localized in the interval between 0.13ωand 0.3ω.The AB s extend to 60°for the TE waves and 80.4°for the TM waves. There also exists a narrow frequency band in a lower frequency range. The relevant factors, which include the external temperature, the magnetic fields applied to the YIGF,the refractive index of the impedance matching layer, and the defect thickness, are adjusted to investigate the effects on the ABs.All the numerical simulations are based on the transfer matrix method. This work provides an approach to designs of isolators and so on.

文摘The four-wave mixing process in atomic ensembles has many important applications in quantum information. We review recent progress on the generation of optical quantum states from the four-wave mixing process in hot atomic ensembles, including the production of two-beam,multi-beam,and multiplexed quantum correlated or entangled states. We also review the applications of these optical quantum states in implementing quantum information protocols, constructing SU(1,1)quantum interferometers, and realizing quantum plasmonic sensing. These applications indicate that the four-wave mixing process in hot atomic ensembles is a promising platform for quantum information processing, especially for implementing alloptical quantum information protocols, constructing SU(1,1)interferometers,and realizing quantum sensing.

文摘Entanglement plays an important role in quantum information science, especially in quantum communications. This ECP has high efficiency and fidelity in realistic experiments, and some imperfections during the experiment can be avoided efficiently with currently available techniques.

文摘We present the perfect light absorption of monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))in a dielectric multilayer system with two different Bragg mirrors. The results show that the strong absorption of visible light in monolayer MoS_(2) is attributed to the formation of optical Tamm states(OTSs)between two Bragg mirrors. The MoS_(2) absorption spectrum is dependent on the layer thickness of Bragg mirrors, incident angle of light, and the period numbers of Bragg mirrors.Especially, the nearly perfect light absorption(99.4%)of monolayer MoS_(2) can be achieved by choosing proper period numbers, which is well analyzed by the temporal coupled-mode theory.

文摘Spatial quantum optics based on the high-order transverse mode is important for the super-resolution measurement and quantum image beyond the shot noise level. The 1.5 dB for the sum of amplitude and 1.2 dB for the difference of phase below shot-noise level is achieved with the measurement system of a Bell state detection.
文摘Local radiative density of optical states (LDOS) offers a tool to control the radiative rate of spontaneous emission from molecules, atoms, and quan- tum dots, which is proportional to LDOS. This paper presents that LDOS how to make the population of excited-state decay exponentially in time, and how these dynamics can be affected. By adopting the plane-wave expansion method, properties of an inverse-opal photonic crystal are studied with the help of photonic dispersion relations. Results in this paper show that the LDOS is radically modified in photonic crystal, and the rate of spontaneous emission can be described by the functions of position in the crystal and orientation of transition dipole moment.
文摘We let a set of beam splitters of vacuum mode with a chosen transmittance parameter η in interaction with a separable coherent states. This model induces the production of an attenuated quantum channels based on entangled optical states.Indeed, the decoherence effect is exploited positively here to generate such kind of quantum channels.Next, the amplitude damping and the entanglement amount of these produced channels are enhanced thereafter by a probabilistic quasi amplification process using again a 50 : 50 beam splitter.
