Two main precipit...The precipitation behaviour during quenching of cast Al-7Si-0.3Mg aluminium alloy was investigated by DSC in the cooling rate range of 0.01 K/s to 3 K/s and by quenching dilatometry for higher rates. Two main precipitation reactions were observed during cooling, a high temperature reaction starting almost directly with quenching from 540℃ and a low temperature reaction starting at about 400℃. Quenching with 3 K/s already significantly suppresses precipitation during quenching. Hardness after T6 ageing increases with increasing quenching rate, due to the increasing content of supersaturated solid solution. By dilatometry and hardness results the critical cooling rate can be estimated as about 60 K/s. Quenched Al-7Si-0.3Mg microstructures have been investigated by light microscopy. The microstructures consist of an aluminium-silicon eutectic structure, aluminium solid solution dendrites and precipitates inside the aluminium dendrites, depending on quenching rate.展开更多
As a payload support system deployed on satellites,the turntable system is often switched among different working modes during the on-orbit operation,which can experience great state changes.In each mode,the missions ...As a payload support system deployed on satellites,the turntable system is often switched among different working modes during the on-orbit operation,which can experience great state changes.In each mode,the missions to be completed are different,consecutive and non-over-lapping,from which the turntable system can be considered to be a phased-mission system(PMS).Reliability analysis for PMS has been widely studied.However,the system mode cycle characteristic has not been taken into account before.In this paper,reliability analysis method of the satellite turntable system is proposed considering its multiple operation modes and mode cycle characteristic.Firstly,the multi-valued decision diagrams(MDD)manipulation rules between two adjacent mission cycles are proposed.On this basis,MDD models for the turntable system in different states are established and the reliability is calculated using the continuous time Markov chains(CTMC)method.Finally,the comparative study is carried out to show the effectiveness of our proposed method.展开更多
The pseudo-equilibrium phase diagram and continuous cooling transformation diagram of an N-containing 8% Cr roller steel were investigated by using thermodynamic calculation,differential scanning calorimetry,Ⅹ-ray d...The pseudo-equilibrium phase diagram and continuous cooling transformation diagram of an N-containing 8% Cr roller steel were investigated by using thermodynamic calculation,differential scanning calorimetry,Ⅹ-ray diffraction,expansion method,and so on.Under equilibrium conditions,the main carbonitrides are MX,M7C3,and M23C6 types.The measured Ac1,Ac3,start temperature of martensitic transformation,and M7C3 transformation temperatures are 811,855,324,and 1100 ℃,respectively.Bainite appears at cooling rates ranging from 0.5 to 5 ℃/s and ferrite forms at grain boundaries at a cooling rate lower than 0.5 ℃/s.Finally,the effects of adding N and lowering the C content on workability and mechanical properties of common 8%Cr steel were discussed.展开更多
In this paper,CCT(continuous cooling transformation)diagrams are determined for Nb-containing reinforcing bars with different Nb,Mn additions,and initial austenite grain sizes by simulating industrial conditions via d...In this paper,CCT(continuous cooling transformation)diagrams are determined for Nb-containing reinforcing bars with different Nb,Mn additions,and initial austenite grain sizes by simulating industrial conditions via dilatometry tests.It was found that coarse austenite grain size,high Mn content and Nb remaining in solution all increase hardenability of Nb-containing rebars,namely lower Ar3 for acicular phase transformation products,which leads to continuous yielding during tensile deformation when the volume fraction of acicular ferrite or bainite microstructure reaches a certain volume fraction.By coupling with actual cooling rates for different size rebars,it can be explained why bainitic structure is prone to form in the center of rebars,especially for small size rebars.In order to achieve required ferrite-pearlite microstructure,cooling strategy is optimized for industrial production.展开更多
