Wind power prediction interval(WPPI)models in the literature have predominantly been developed for and tested on specific case studies.However,wind behavior and characteristics can vary significantly across regions.Th...Wind power prediction interval(WPPI)models in the literature have predominantly been developed for and tested on specific case studies.However,wind behavior and characteristics can vary significantly across regions.Thus,a prediction model that performs well in one case might underperform in another.To address this shortcoming,this paper proposes an ensemble WPPI framework that integrates multiple WPPI models with distinct characteristics to improve robustness.Another important and often overlooked factor is the role of probabilistic wind power prediction(WPP)in quantifying wind power uncertainty,which should be handled by operating reserve.Operating reserve in WPPI frameworks enhances the efficacy of WPP.In this regard,the proposed framework employs a novel bi-layer optimization approach that takes both WPPI quality and reserve requirements into account.Comprehensive analysis with different real-world datasets and various benchmark models validates the quality of the obtained WPPIs while resulting in more optimal reserve requirements.展开更多
Growing private vehicle use and a limited supply of parking resources have increased competition for parking spaces.Ineffective searching for parking spaces is a significant barrier to smooth traffic flow.Smart techno...Growing private vehicle use and a limited supply of parking resources have increased competition for parking spaces.Ineffective searching for parking spaces is a significant barrier to smooth traffic flow.Smart technology-generated parking reservations are regarded as an excellent way to increase parking efficiency and lessen traffic.Although there is increased attention on smart parking research and parking reservation optimization,a scoping review is currently lacking.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of the research literature related to parking reservations.Out of the original 438 publications identified in this search,99 were eventually chosen for analysis.The review categorized parking reservations into four research topics:inventory control,allocation decisions,pricing strategies,and performance evaluation.The elements considered in these research themes,modeling techniques,and evaluation criteria are explored in detail.In addition,the challenges and further enhancements of parking reservation optimization are discussed.It is believed that the findings from this study will be beneficial in further research on parking reservations.展开更多

It is shown that when there exists secondary auction market, the auction whose penalty is a linear function of the seller's commission will be more efficient than the auction with only commissions but no penalties. In recent years,the interconnection of asynchronous power grids through the VSC-MTDC system has been proposed and extensively studied in light of the potential benefits of economical bulk power exchanges and frequency...In recent years,the interconnection of asynchronous power grids through the VSC-MTDC system has been proposed and extensively studied in light of the potential benefits of economical bulk power exchanges and frequency regulation reserves sharing.This paper proposes an optimized allocation method for sharing frequency regulation reserves among the interconnected power systems and the corresponding frequency regulation control of the VSC-MTDC system under emergency frequency deviation events.First,the frequency regulation reserve classification is proposed.In the classification,the available frequency response capacity reserves of each interconnection are divided into commercial reserves and regular reserves.While the commercial reserves are procured through long-term contracts,the regular reserves are purchased based on market prices of frequency regulation services.Secondly,based on the proposed frequency regulation reserve classification,a novel frequency regulation control is then introduced for the VSC-MTDC system.This control method could minimize the costs of the disturbed power grid for the needed frequency response supports from the other power grids.Simulation verifications are performed on a modified IEEE 39 bus system and a highly reduced power system model representing the North American grids.The simulation verification indicates that the developed frequency regulation control significantly reduced ancillary service costs of the disturbed power grid.展开更多
