Nuclear power plants exhibit non-linear and time-variable dynamics.Therefore,designing a control system that sets the reactor power and forces it to follow the desired load is complicated.A supercritical water reactor...Nuclear power plants exhibit non-linear and time-variable dynamics.Therefore,designing a control system that sets the reactor power and forces it to follow the desired load is complicated.A supercritical water reactor(SCWR)is a fourth-generation conceptual reactor.In an SCWR,the non-linear dynamics of the reactor require a controller capable of control-ling the nonlinearities.In this study,a pressure-tube-type SCWR was controlled during reactor power maneuvering with a higher order sliding mode,and the reactor outgoing steam temperature and pressure were controlled simultaneously.In an SCWR,the temperature,pressure,and power must be maintained at a setpoint(desired value)during power maneuvering.Reactor point kinetics equations with three groups of delayed neutrons were used in the simulation.Higher-order and classic sliding mode controllers were separately manufactured to control the plant and were compared with the PI controllers speci-fied in previous studies.The controlled parameters were reactor power,steam temperature,and pressure.Notably,for these parameters,the PI controller had certain instabilities in the presence of disturbances.The classic sliding mode controller had a higher accuracy and stability;however its main drawback was the chattering phenomenon.HOSMC was highly accurate and stable and had a small computational cost.In reality,it followed the desired values without oscillations and chattering.展开更多

B...Raman spectra of purified oxygen evolution core complexes (Pd OECC) thin films on silver mirror substrates have been taken over the frequency range of 250-3100 cm -1 by surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). Besides the fundamental frequency modes of β_carotene in Pd OECC, many weak peaks are observed. According to the selection rules of overtone and combination bands, most of them are attributed to the second_order Raman spectra of β_carotene. Compared with the SERS of normal Pd OECC, the SERS of Pd OECC after strong illumination shows a decrease in scattering intensity and an increase in line widths, indicating changes of conformation and micro_environment of β_carotene. The results of SERS are consistent with the changes of absorption spectrum of Pd OECC induced by strong illumination. There are no changes that can be ascribed to new vibration bands, so it is deduced that Pd OECC on the silver mirror is identical to that in the solution. In summary, SERS proved a good method to study the photodamage mechanism of photosynthesis.展开更多

An adaptive gain higher...This work deals with the development of a decentralized optimal control algorithm, along with a robust observer,for the relative motion control of spacecraft in leader-follower based formation. An adaptive gain higher order sliding mode observer has been proposed to estimate the velocity as well as unmeasured disturbances from the noisy position measurements.A differentiator structure containing the Lipschitz constant and Lebesgue measurable control input, is utilized for obtaining the estimates. Adaptive tuning algorithms are derived based on Lyapunov stability theory, for updating the observer gains,which will give enough flexibility in the choice of initial estimates.Moreover, it may help to cope with unexpected state jerks. The trajectory tracking problem is formulated as a finite horizon optimal control problem, which is solved online. The control constraints are incorporated by using a nonquadratic performance functional. An adaptive update law has been derived for tuning the step size in the optimization algorithm, which may help to improve the convergence speed. Moreover, it is an attractive alternative to the heuristic choice of step size for diverse operating conditions. The disturbance as well as state estimates from the higher order sliding mode observer are utilized by the plant output prediction model, which will improve the overall performance of the controller. The nonlinear dynamics defined in leader fixed Euler-Hill frame has been considered for the present work and the reference trajectories are generated using Hill-Clohessy-Wiltshire equations of unperturbed motion. The simulation results based on rigorous perturbation analysis are presented to confirm the robustness of the proposed approach.展开更多

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology has been extensively explored for wireless communication, sensors, microfluidics, photonics, and quantum information processing. However, due to fabrication issues, the frequenci...Surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology has been extensively explored for wireless communication, sensors, microfluidics, photonics, and quantum information processing. However, due to fabrication issues, the frequencies of SAW devices are typically limited to within a few gigahertz, which severely restricts their applications in 5G communication, precision sensing, photonics, and quantum control. To solve this critical problem, we propose a hybrid strategy that integrates a nanomanufacturing process (i.e., nanolithography) with a LiNbO_(3)/SiO_(2)/SiC heterostructure and successfully achieve a record-breaking frequency of about 44 GHz for SAW devices, in addition to large electromechanical coupling coefficients of up to 15.7%. We perform a theoretical analysis and identify the guided higher order wave modes generated on these slow-on-fast SAW platforms. To demonstrate the superior sensing performance of the proposed ultra-high-frequency SAW platforms, we perform micro-mass sensing and obtain an extremely high sensitivity of approximately 33151.9 MHz·mm2·μg−1, which is about 1011 times higher than that of a conventional quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and about 4000 times higher than that of a conventional SAW device with a frequency of 978 MHz.展开更多
This paper presents a simple and systematic approach to design second order sliding mode controller for buck converters.The second order sliding mode control(SOSMC)based on twisting algorithm has been implemented to c...This paper presents a simple and systematic approach to design second order sliding mode controller for buck converters.The second order sliding mode control(SOSMC)based on twisting algorithm has been implemented to control buck switch mode converter.The idea behind this strategy is to suppress chattering and maintain robustness and finite time convergence properties of the output voltage error to the equilibrium point under the load variations and parametric uncertainties.In addition,the influence of the twisting algorithm on the performance of closed-loop system is investigated and compared with other algorithms of first order sliding mode control such as adaptive sliding mode control(ASMC),nonsingular terminal sliding mode control(NTSMC).In comparative evaluation,the transient response of the output voltage with the step change in the load and the start-up response of the output voltage with the step change in the input voltage of buck converter were compared.Experimental results were obtained from a hardware setup constructed in laboratory.Finally,for all of the surveyed control methods,the theoretical considerations,numerical simulations,and experimental measurements from a laboratory prototype are compared for different operating points.It is shown that the proposed twisting method presents an improvement in steady state error and settling time of output voltage during load changes.展开更多

Among the most evoked control strategies adopted in this field to overcome these drawbacks presented in classical drive, it is worth mentioning the use of the second order sliding mode control(SOSMC) based on the super twisting algorithm(STA) combined with the fuzzy logic control(FSOSMC). In order to realize the optimal control performance, the FSOSMC parameters are adjusted using an optimization algorithm based on the genetic algorithm(GA). The performances of the envisaged control scheme, called G-FSOSMC, are investigated against G-SOSMC, G-PI and BBO-FSOSMC algorithms. The proposed controller scheme is efficient in reducing the torque and flux ripples, and successfully suppresses chattering. The effects of parametric uncertainties do not affect system performance.展开更多

The conventional conclusion that ridged waveguides with inhomogeneous dielectric-slab loading, microstrip lines and fin lines only hold for hybrid modes is revised. The actual control signal obtained by integrating the derivative control signal is smooth and chattering free. The stability and the robustness of the proposed controller can be easily verified by using the classical Lyapunov criterion. The new approach was proposed to decompose behavior into sub-behaviors that are easier to recognize using a saliency-based visual attention model. New representation of behavior was introduced, in which the sub-behavior and the associated time characteristic of sub-behavior were used to represent behavior case. In the process of case-based reasoning, apart from considering the similarity of basic sub-behaviors,order factor was proposed to measure the similarity of a time order among the sub-behaviors and span factor was used to measure the similarity of duration time of each sub-behavior, which makes the similarity calculations more rational and comprehensive.Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with other related works and can run in real-time for the recognition of suspicious behaviors.展开更多

The light matter interaction in the ferrofluid film leads to the formation of a regular nanoparticle pattern, which changes the phase match condition of the ultrahigh order modes in return. When two lasers are incident on the same spot of the waveguide chip, experiments illustrate all-optical modulation of one laser beam by adjusting the intensity of the other laser. A possible theoretical explanation may be due to the optical trapping and Soret effect since the phenomenon is considerable only when the control laser is effectively coupled into the waveguide.展开更多

But, there are some higher-order normal modes which arrive earlier than mode 1, and fluctuate with the appearance of solitary IWs. Explanation of the phenomenon is given based on ray theory. The switching control is constructed by integrating super twisting algorithm, hence a chattering alleviation protocol is obtained to maintain a smooth control input. The finite time convergence analysis for the leader follower network is presented by using strict Lyapunov function. However, due to fabrication issues, the frequencies of SAW devices are typically limited to within a few gigahertz, which severely restricts their applications in 5G communication, precision sensing, photonics, and quantum control. To solve this critical problem, we propose a hybrid strategy that integrates a nanomanufacturing process (i.e., nanolithography) with a LiNbO_(3)/SiO_(2)/SiC heterostructure and successfully achieve a record-breaking frequency of about 44 GHz for SAW devices, in addition to large electromechanical coupling coefficients of up to 15.7%. We perform a theoretical analysis and identify the guided higher order wave modes generated on these slow-on-fast SAW platforms. To demonstrate the superior sensing performance of the proposed ultra-high-frequency SAW platforms, we perform micro-mass sensing and obtain an extremely high sensitivity of approximately 33151.9 MHz·mm2·μg−1, which is about 1011 times higher than that of a conventional quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and about 4000 times higher than that of a conventional SAW device with a frequency of 978 MHz.
文摘This paper presents a simple and systematic approach to design second order sliding mode controller for buck converters.The second order sliding mode control(SOSMC)based on twisting algorithm has been implemented to control buck switch mode converter.The idea behind this strategy is to suppress chattering and maintain robustness and finite time convergence properties of the output voltage error to the equilibrium point under the load variations and parametric uncertainties.In addition,the influence of the twisting algorithm on the performance of closed-loop system is investigated and compared with other algorithms of first order sliding mode control such as adaptive sliding mode control(ASMC),nonsingular terminal sliding mode control(NTSMC).In comparative evaluation,the transient response of the output voltage with the step change in the load and the start-up response of the output voltage with the step change in the input voltage of buck converter were compared.Experimental results were obtained from a hardware setup constructed in laboratory.Finally,for all of the surveyed control methods,the theoretical considerations,numerical simulations,and experimental measurements from a laboratory prototype are compared for different operating points.It is shown that the proposed twisting method presents an improvement in steady state error and settling time of output voltage during load changes.

文摘The direct torque control of the dual star induction motor(DTC-DSIM) using conventional PI controllers is characterized by unsatisfactory performance, such as high ripples of torque and flux, and sensitivity to parametric variations. Among the most evoked control strategies adopted in this field to overcome these drawbacks presented in classical drive, it is worth mentioning the use of the second order sliding mode control(SOSMC) based on the super twisting algorithm(STA) combined with the fuzzy logic control(FSOSMC). In order to realize the optimal control performance, the FSOSMC parameters are adjusted using an optimization algorithm based on the genetic algorithm(GA). The performances of the envisaged control scheme, called G-FSOSMC, are investigated against G-SOSMC, G-PI and BBO-FSOSMC algorithms. The proposed controller scheme is efficient in reducing the torque and flux ripples, and successfully suppresses chattering. The effects of parametric uncertainties do not affect system performance.

文摘TEn mode (whose electric field is zero in the normal direction of the boundaries between layers) and TMn mode (whose magnetic field is zero in the normal direction of the boundaries between layers) are defined. Then conditions under which pure TEn (TMn) modes may exist in multilayer waveguide structure with discontinuities are presented. E (H) step wavguides, ridged wavguides, microstrip lines and fin lines all satisfy the conditions, and hold for TEn (TMn) mode. The conventional conclusion that ridged waveguides with inhomogeneous dielectric-slab loading, microstrip lines and fin lines only hold for hybrid modes is revised. Compared with hybrid modes, the number of unknown variations and matching equations is reduced by half for pure TEn (TMn) modes, and the computation cost is decreased dramatically.

文摘An attitude controller using the second order sliding mode control methodology with a backstepping approach(SOSMCB)is designed and implemented for a spinning missile with two internal moving mass blocks.The system consists of a rigid body and two radial internal moving mass blocks and its mathematical model is established based on Newtonian mechanics.The control scheme integrates a second order sliding mode control algorithm into the last step of the backstepping approach,and its stability is proved by means of a Lyapunov function.The performance of the controller is demonstrated by numerical simulations,the results show that the attitude controller is stable and effective.
文摘This paper proposes a higher order sliding mode controller for uncertain robot manipulators. The motivation for using high order sliding mode mainly relies on its appreciable features, such as high precision and elimination of chattering in addition to assure the same performance of conventional sliding mode like robustness. Instead of a regular control input, the derivative of the control input is used in the proposed control law. The discontinuity in the controller is made to act on the time derivative of the control input. The actual control signal obtained by integrating the derivative control signal is smooth and chattering free. The stability and the robustness of the proposed controller can be easily verified by using the classical Lyapunov criterion. The proposed controller is tested to a three-degree-of-freedom robot to prove its effectiveness.

文摘The axial piston pump usually works under variable speed conditions.It is important to evaluate the health status of the axial piston pump under the variable speed condition.Aiming at the characteristic signals obtained under different wear levels of the port plate,a feature signal extraction method under variable speed conditions is proposed.Firstly,the combination of complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise(CEEMDAN)energy spectrum and fast spectral kurtosis principle is used to accurately extract the intrinsic mode function(IMF)component containing the sensitive information of the degraded feature.Then,the aspect ratio analysis method of the angle domain variational mode decomposition(VMD)is used to process the feature index containing the sensitive information of the degraded feature.In order to evaluate the health status of the axial piston pump under variable speed,the vibration reliability analysis method for axial piston pump based on Weibull proportional failure rate model is proposed.The experimental results show that the proposed method can accurately evaluate the health status of the axial piston pump.

文摘A novel method case-based reasoning was proposed for suspicious behavior recognition. The method is composed of three departs: human behavior decomposition, human behavior case representation and case-based reasoning. The new approach was proposed to decompose behavior into sub-behaviors that are easier to recognize using a saliency-based visual attention model. New representation of behavior was introduced, in which the sub-behavior and the associated time characteristic of sub-behavior were used to represent behavior case. In the process of case-based reasoning, apart from considering the similarity of basic sub-behaviors,order factor was proposed to measure the similarity of a time order among the sub-behaviors and span factor was used to measure the similarity of duration time of each sub-behavior, which makes the similarity calculations more rational and comprehensive.Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with other related works and can run in real-time for the recognition of suspicious behaviors.

文摘We propose a novel optical intensity modulator based on the combination of a symmetrical metal cladding optical waveguide (SMCW) and ferrofluid, where the ferrofluid is sealed in the waveguide to act as a guiding layer. The light matter interaction in the ferrofluid film leads to the formation of a regular nanoparticle pattern, which changes the phase match condition of the ultrahigh order modes in return. When two lasers are incident on the same spot of the waveguide chip, experiments illustrate all-optical modulation of one laser beam by adjusting the intensity of the other laser. A possible theoretical explanation may be due to the optical trapping and Soret effect since the phenomenon is considerable only when the control laser is effectively coupled into the waveguide.

文摘This paper reports that the complex-coupled distributed feedback laser with the sampled grating has been designed and fabricated.The +1st order reflection of the sampled grating is utilized for laser single mode operation,which is 1.5387 μm in the experiment.The typical threshold current of the device is 30 mA,and the optical output power is about 10 mW at the injection current of 100 mA.

文摘For the two-level five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(FP-PMSM)drive system,an improved finite-control-set model predictive torque control(MPTC)strategy is adopted to reduce torque ripple and improve the control performance of the system.The mathematical model of model reference adaptive system(MRAS)of FP-PMSM is derived and a method based on fractional order sliding mode(FOSM)is proposed to construct the model reference adaptive system(FOSMMRAS)to improve the motor speed estimation accuracy and eliminate the sliding mode integral saturation effect.The simulation results show that the FP-PMSM speed sensorless FCS-MPTC system based on FOSM-MRAS has strong robustness,good dynamic performance and static performance,and high reliability.
文摘Interacting The highest storage capacity of a circular tank makes it pop-ular in process industries.Because of the varying surface area of the cross-sec-tions of the tank,this two-tank level system has nonlinear characteristics.Controlling theflow rate of liquid is one of the most difficult challenges in the production process.This proposed effort is critical in preventing time delays and errors by managing thefluid level.Several scholars have explored and explored ways to reduce the problem of nonlinearity,but their techniques have not yielded better results.Different types of controllers with various techniques are implemented by the proposed system.Sliding Mode Controller(SMC)with Fractional Order PID Controller based on Intelligent Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Infer-ence System(ANFIS)is a novel technique for liquid level regulation in an inter-connected spherical tank system to avoid interferences and achieve better performance in comparison of rise time,settling time,and overshoot decrease.Evaluating the simulated results acquired by the controller yields the efficiency of the proposed system.The simulated results were produced using MATLAB 2018 and the FOMCON toolbox.Finally,the performance of the conventional controller(FOPID,PID-SMC)and proposed ANFIS based SMC-FOPID control-lers are compared and analyzed the performance indices.

Instead of a regular control input, the derivative of the control input is used in the proposed control law. The discon- tinuous sign function in the controller is made to act on the time derivative of the control input. The actual control signal obtained by integrating the derivative control signal is smooth and chattering free. The adaptive tuning law used in the proposed controller eliminates the need of prior knowledge about the upper bound of the system uncertainties. Stability and robustness of the proposed controller are proved by using the classical Lyapunov criterion. Simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the proposed control scheme.

文摘The sensitivities of the normal modes arrival time to solitary internal waves (IWs) are analyzed by using the SW06 environments. Simulation results show that the arrival time of mode 1 is relatively stable. But, there are some higher-order normal modes which arrive earlier than mode 1, and fluctuate with the appearance of solitary IWs. Explanation of the phenomenon is given based on ray theory. It is shown that, when thermocline falls down to some depths, those higher-order modes with a group of definite grazing angles mainly propagate above the thermocline and arrive earlier.
文摘This paper investigates the distributed finite-time consensus tracking problem for higher- order nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs). The distributed finite-time consensus protocol is based on full order sliding surface and super twisting algorithm. The nominal consensus control for the MASs is designed based on the geometric homogeneous finite time control technique. The chattering is avoided by designing a full order sliding surface. The switching control is constructed by integrating super twisting algorithm, hence a chattering alleviation protocol is obtained to maintain a smooth control input. The finite time convergence analysis for the leader follower network is presented by using strict Lyapunov function. Finally, the numerical simulations validate the proposed homogeneous full-order sliding mode control for higher-order MASs.
