The extrac...The differences in XRD patterns, elemental compositions, FT-IR spectra and TG-DSC curves of extract residues obtained by NaOH, and NaOH assisted with anthraguinone (AQ) extraction procedures were studied. The extract residues are mainly comprised of humin fractions associated with inorganic minerals. XRD analysis shows that there is no typical peak of organic carbon because those organic humin fractions appear as a highly disordered substance. The peak of quartz is dominant. The elementary analysis shows that assistant AQ in NaOH solution can break the link of organic humic substances with inorganic minerals. And aromatization degree of humin fractions obtained by NaOH is smaller than that obtained by NaOH assisted with AQ. FT-IR analysis displays that various groups exist in those two humin fractions obtained by different extraction procedures. There are some differences in FT-IR curves between two humin fractions. TG-DSC analysis shows that thermal decomposition occurs during the heating of testing samples. By contrast, the humin fractions associated with inorganic minerals obtained by NaOH possess a higher thermal decomposition range.展开更多

The results show that there is stronger chemisorption between organic functional groups in MHA binde...A modified humic acid(MHA) binder was tested as a substitute for bentonite to prepare qualified specularite pellets. The results show that there is stronger chemisorption between organic functional groups in MHA binder molecular and specularite particles, improving the green pellet strength. MHA binder has obvious effect on the strength and microstructure of preheated pellets due to the thermal decomposition of organic matters in MHA binder. Appropriately increasing preheating temperature or time can eliminate the adverse impact of organic matters on the preheated pellet strength. Compared with the bentonite pellets, the roasted pellets with MHA binder have a more compact microstructure, and the recrystallization of the Fe2O3 crystal grains is better.Consequently, under optimal conditions, 0.75%(mass fraction) MHA binder pellets have equal or better pellet strengths and contain1.06% more total iron than 2 % bentonite pellets. The testing results indicate that MHA binder is a promising and effective alternative to bentonite for the specularite pellets.展开更多
The agglomeration of solid wastes is a key factor for subsequent utilization,while the difficulty in agglomeration and high cost have become common problems in the recycling process.The disk pelletizing process was ad...The agglomeration of solid wastes is a key factor for subsequent utilization,while the difficulty in agglomeration and high cost have become common problems in the recycling process.The disk pelletizing process was adopted,based on the optimization method by liquid binder addition,and the influence mechanism of the ratio of typical solid wastes as blast furnace dust(BFD)and sludge generated by oxygen converter gas recovery(OGS)was explored.Meanwhile,the effect of binder solution concentration on the quality of green pellets was studied.Derived from the contact angle detection and infrared spectrum analysis,the liquid bridge model was established to study the bonding mechanism.The results showed that OGS had stronger adsorption effect with binder,and the hydrophilicity of BFD was better.When the concentration of binder was higher than 0.2 wt.%,the contact angle between the binder and BFD was bigger than that with OGS,while the capillary force between particles reduced with larger contact angle.The increment in the binder concentration increased the viscous force between particles and the maximum separation distance.The ultimate drop strength and compressive strength were related to the type of viscous force,and the compressive strength reflected the strength of the force between particles intuitively,while the drop strength represented the comprehensive forces of green pellets.Reasonable combination of BFD and OGS was available for pelletizing process,while the ratio of BFD should not exceed 32.0%,and binder C was added in the form of solution with the addition amount of 0.4 wt.%,which can reduce the cost of binder by 20–30¥/t.展开更多
