The paper first analyzes the connotation of teacher data literacy, and then combs through the status quo and dilemmas of teachers’ data literacy ability in applied universities. The paper proposes to enhance the data literacy ability of teachers from the perspective of organizational learning. Through building a digital culture, building a data-driven teaching environment, and constructing an interdisciplinary learning community to further promote the application of the theory and practice of datafication inside and outside the organization, and ultimately improve the quality of teaching.展开更多

The study tries to explore the correlation between organizational learning and hospital accreditation awareness from the medical institution operation management’s point of view. Methods: We designed the questionnaire based on the cross-section survey, which included a total of 498 hospitals through-out Taiwan as the subjects (1922 copies of questionnaire were distributed, 4 copies per hospital). As a result, 306 returned the questionnaire (995 copies of valid questionnaire), a valid response rate was 49.94%. Then, we conducted the multiple regression analysis. Results: The factors critical to the operations management accreditation awareness include age, hospital ownership, hospital lever and team learning (p < 0.001). The factors critical to the medical care accreditation awareness include age, education level and team learning (p < 0.001). The team learning will produce positive effect to the hospital accreditation awareness. Conclusions: The organizational continuous learning may enhance the team learning through hospital accreditation operations to ensure that the medical treatment system may provide safe, valid and reliable healthcare and found the hospitals’ competitive strength.展开更多

Based on the embeddedness theory, six factors are discussed that influence organizational learning capability from the perspective of knowledge embeddedness: employees embeddedness, tools embeddedness, tasks embeddedness, interpersonal relationship embeddedness, organizational culture embeddedness and network environment embeddedness. Combined with the survey data of textile and apparel manufacturing industry, the research proves the important function of knowledge embeddedness in the construction of organizational learning capability, and proposes three research countermeasures for industrial upgrading.展开更多

One of the main requirements for the proper functioning of manpower is that through learning, they be updated in terms of knowledge. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine the level of Organizational Learning Capability in hospitals in Bandar Abbas City—Iran. Methods: In 2014, this descriptive-analytic study was conducted in hospitals in Bandar Abbas City. The data was collected through the Gomez questionnaire for organizational learning from 290 employees of hospitals. Data analysis was done using software SPSS V.20 and by the Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: Organizational Learning Capability in governmental, private and social security hospitals were 0.31 ± 53.06, 9.38 ± 47.38 and 0.27 ± 50.74, respectively. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test showed that the relationship between the variables of employment status (p = 0.034), occupational categories (p = 0.043), and type of ownership (p = 0.02), was significant with the organizational learning capability but such a significant relationship was not observed in terms of age, educational level and employment status. The results of the Mann- Whitney U-test indicated a significant association between marital status (p = 0.029) and type of hospital (p = 0.049) with the organizational learning capability. Conclusion: Need to up-to-dating of staff’s knowledge has made undeniable the role of organizational learning. According to the results, managers have to provide conditions for improving the status quo through promoting or-ganizational learning and extend the ability of the organization for growth and progress.展开更多

Earlier studies have documented facilitators and barriers that affect the use and implementation of evidence-based practice. Less is known about what kind of interventions might be useful to implement evidence-based practice. This study explores what physiotherapists learn through participation in a research project relevant to their professional development towards achieving a more evidence-based physiotherapy practice. To what extent this learning was transferred to colleagues for organizational learning is also examined. This study was set in Sweden, where health care is publicly funded. Patients do not need a referral from a physician to consult a physiotherapist. Eleven interviews were conducted with physiotherapists who had participated in a randomized, controlled, multicenter, physiotherapy intervention investigating neck-specific exercise for patients with whiplash disorder. Gadamer’s hermeneutics was used to analyze the data. The physiotherapists described a range of learning experiences from their project participation, including instrumental learning (the concrete application of knowledge to achieve changes in practice) and conceptual learning (changes in knowledge, understanding or attitudes). The research project enabled the physiotherapists to develop new treatment techniques for broader application and extend their competence in techniques already known (instrumental learning). The physiotherapists believed that project participation enhanced their overall competence as physiotherapists, increased their job motivation and strengthened their self-confidence and self-efficacy (conceptual learning). Physiotherapists’ participation in the research project yielded many individual learning experiences, fostered positive attitudes to research and was conducive to achieving a more research-informed physiotherapy practice. Participation was associated with a deeper understanding of the challenges involved in conducting research. The transfer from individual learning to the wider organization in terms of organizational learning was limited.展开更多

The case selected is the successful practice about typical technology import of internal combustion locomotive, electric locomotive, and diesel engine, owned by Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Ltd Company of CRRC. Based on analysis, it can be found that firms' organizational inertia exhibits primarily negative effects, positive effects and a combination of positive and negative effects in different stages of imitative, improved and indigenous innovation respectively. Further analysis of typical events shows that explorative learning mitigates organizational inertia's negative effects, while exploitative learning enhances its positive effects. From the angle of organizational inertia's effects, this paper deepens understanding on the mechanism of transition from technology importation to indigenous innovation, and provides inspirations for late-coming firms to break the vicious cycle where technology importation leads to more backwardness..展开更多
