Preparation and Characterization of Hybrid ZnO/Ormosils Films

Hybrid ZnO/ormosils films are prepared by the sol-gel method. A FT-IR spectrometer, 900 UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometer, atomic force microscope, and ellipsometer are employed to investigate microstructure and optical properties of the films fired at different temperatures. The results show that the films with high transmittance and low surface roughness could be obtained at the heat-treatment temperature of 150℃, the refractive index and thickness of the film are 1.413, 2.11μm, respectively. Higher temperatures (350℃, 550℃) change the film microstructure severely, and then decrease the transmittance of the films, 展开更多

Laser dye coumarin 440(C440) is codoped with pyrromethene 567 (PM567) into polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) The effects of C440 concentration on the performance of the solid state dye medium, including spectra property, slope efficiency and photostability, are studied. When C440 is codoped with PM567 at the same concentration 1 × 10^-4 mol/L, the highest efficiency and photostability can be obtained. Compared with the medium based on pure PM567 doped PMMA, about 50% increase in slope efficiency and at least five-fold enhancement in the photostability are observed. 展开更多

Sol-gel methods offer many advantages over conventional slip-casting, including the ability to produce ceramic membranes. They are purer, more homogeneous, more reactive and contain a wider variety of compositions. We produced ormosil sol using sol-gel process under different molecular weight of polymer species [polyethylene glycol (PEG) ] in total system [Tetraethyl ortho silicate(TEOS)-polyethylene glycol (PEG)]. The properties of as-prepared ormosil sol such as,viscosity, gelation time were characterized. Also, the ceramic membrane was prepared by dip-coating with synthetic sol and its micro-structure was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The permeability and rejection efficiency of membrane for oil/water emulsion were evaluated as cross-flow apparatus. The ormosil sol coated Membrane is easily formed by steric effect of polymer and it improves flux efficiency because infiltration into porous support decreased. Its flux efficiency is elevated about 200(1/m2·h) compared with colloidal sol coated membrane at point of five minutes from starting test. 展开更多

Scanning electron microscope, FT-IR spectrometer, spectrophotometer, atomic force microscopy, thermal analyzer, and dark m-line spectroscopy were used with the method of scattering-detection to investigate optical and structural properties. An ORMOSIL porous double-layer broadband antireflective coating

A λ∕4–λ∕4 broadband antireflective(AR) coating is developed with a sol-gel dip-coating method. By adding SAR-5 organosilicon resin into a base-catalyzed silica sol top layer and treating at 300°C, a broadband AR coating used for blast shields with a high average transmission of 99.34%(450–950 nm) and good hydrophobicity(with a water-contact angle of 119°) was obtained. After being subjected to rubbing 50 times and being maintained at a relative humidity of around 95% for 50 days, the average transmission of the coating decreased by0.29% and 0.04%, respectively. This indicates that the organically modified silica(ORMOSIL) broadband AR coating has good abrasion resistance and humidity stability. 展开更多
