The effect of the lateral stretching or compressive stress is taken into account for plates of either semi-infinite or finite length. An explicit expression for the dispersion relation of the flexural-gravity wave in a three-layer fluid is analytically deduced. The equations for the velocity potential and the wave elevations are solved with the method of matched eigenfunction expansions. To simplify the calculation on the unknown expansion coefficients, a new inner product with orthogonality is proposed for the three-layer fluid, in which the vertical eigenfunctions in the open-water region are involved. The accuracy of the numerical results is checked with an energy conservation equation, representing the energy flux relation among three incident wave modes and the elastic plate. The effects of the lateral stresses on the hydroelastic responses are discussed in detail.展开更多

METHODS: A pilot metabolic profiling study was conducted using three groups: compensated cirrhosis patients (n = 30), decompensated cirrhosis patients (n = 30) and healthy controls (n = 30). A 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabonomics approach was used to obtain the serum metabolic profiles of the samples. The acquired data were processed by multivariate principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA). RESULTS: The OPLS-DA model was capable of distinguishing between decompensated and compensated cirrhosis patients, with an R2Y of 0.784 and a Q2Y of 0.598. Twelve metabolites, such as pyruvate, phenylala-nine and succinate, were identified as the most influential factors for the difference between the two groups. The validation of the diagnosis prediction showed that the accuracy of the OPLS-DA model was 85% (17/20). CONCLUSION: 1H NMR spectra combined with pattern recognition analysis techniques offer a new way to diagnose compensated and decompensated cirrhosis in the future.展开更多

We first presented a unified CPE estimation framework combining decision-aided (DA), pilot-aided (PA) and decision feed- back (DF) algorithms. The DA method is used to estimate the CPE of the current OFDM symbol based on the decision statistics of the previous symbol. DA + PA helps increase the phase noise tolerance of DA and reduce the overhead of PA, while DA + DF reduces the overhead to zero, achieving best performance with one more step of estimation, compensation and demodulation. We also described a modified time-domain blind intercarrier interference (BL-ICI) mitigation algorithm over non- constant amplitude formats. The new algorithm is derived from the BL-ICI algorithm over constant amplitude format for wireless networks. A new power estimation scheme was proposed for the BL-ICI algorithm to adapt to non- constant amplitude format. It has the same order of complexity with frequency domain decision-aided ICI (DA-ICI) compensation method and does not suffer from symbol decision errors. The effectiveness of both CPE and ICI compensation algorithms were demonstrated in a simulated 56-Gbit/s CO-OFDM system with various modulation formats.展开更多
