To avoid re-estimating channel correlation function as the channel stationarity varies and to track the channel adaptively, LMS (Least-Mean-Square) based long-range channel prediction is discussed in the existing literature, but it needs long observation interval to reach the convergence. Given that all OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) subcarriers have the identical time-domain correlation and stationarity during the same time interval, this paper proposed a 2-D LMS based predictor which updates the filter weights in both time and frequency domain. The proposed scheme can effectively decrease the observation intervals and significantly speed up the convergence than the conventional LMS and Parallel LMS (PLMS). Complexity analysis and simulation results prove that the proposed scheme can improve the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance and spectrum efficiency with negligible complexity increase.展开更多

Firstly, detection and parameter estimation of multi-component LFM signal were used by discrete fast fractional Fourier transform (FrFT). Then the expression of chirp-rate resolution in fractional Fourier domain (FrFD) was deduced from discrete normalize time-frequency distribution, when multi-component LFM signal had only one center frequency. Furthermore, the detail influence of the sampling time, sampling frequency and chirp-rate upon the resolution was analyzed by partial differential equation. Simulation results and analysis indicate that increasing the sampling time can enhance the resolution, but the influence of the sampling frequency can he omitted. What's more, in multi-component LFM signal, the chirp-rate resolution of FrFT is no less than a minimal value, and it mainly dependent on the biggest value of chirp-rates, with which it has an approximately positive exponential relationship.展开更多

A secondorder difference (SOD) method is proposed to treat with this problem. In the SOD method, the optimal search step and difference step are derived from the LFM rate resolution formula. The sharpness of the peaks of RAT is measured by curvature, and the sharpness, but not the magnitude of the peaks, is used to detect the LFMs. The SOD method removes the noise energy accumulation and reserves the drastically changing components integrally; thus, it improves the detection probability of LFMs in low SNR. The expected performance of the new method is verified by 100 Monte Carlo simulations.展开更多

Li-Fi is the fully networked solution for nmltiple users that combines communication and illumination simultaneously. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are used in Li-Fi as visible light transmitters, therefore, only intensity modulated direct detected modulation techniques can be achieved. Single carrier modulation techniques are straightforward to be used in Li-Fi, however, computationally complex equalization processes are required in fre- quency selective Li-Fi channels. On the other hand, multiearrier modulation techniques offer a viable solution for Li-Fi in terms of power, spectral and computational efficiency. In particular, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based modulation techniques offer a practical solution for Li-Fi, especially when direct current (DC) wander, and adaptive bit and power loading techniques are considered. Li-Fi modulation techniques need to also satisfy illumination requirements. Flickering avoidance and dimming control are considered in the variant modulation techniques presented. This paper surveys the suitable modulation techniques for Li-Fi including those which explore time, frequency and colour domains.展开更多

The principle of the multiple radars signal fusion improving the range resolution is analyzed. With the analysis of return signals received by two radars,it is derived that the phase difference between the echoes varies almost linearly with respect to the frequency if the distance between two radars is neg-ligible compared with the radar observation distance. To compensate the phase difference,an en-tropy-minimization principle based compensation algorithm is proposed. During the fusion process, the B-splines interpolation method is applied to resample the signals for Fourier transform imaging. The theoretical analysis and simulations results show the proposed method can effectively increase signal bandwidth and provide a high resolution range profile.展开更多

While previous literatures employed linear precodcr of small size for complexity reasons, this paper proposes to use a linear precoder of size larger than or equal to the maximum length of the equivalent discrete-time channel in order to achieve full frequency diversity and reduce complexities of the error control coder/decoder. Also a low complexity Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) turbo equalizer is derived for the receiver. Through simulation and performance analysis, it is shown that the performance of the proposed scheme over frequency selective fading channel reaches the matched filter bound; compared with the same coded OFDM without linear precoding, the proposed scheme shows an Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) improvement of at least 6dB at a bit error rate of 10 6 over a multipath channel with exponential power delay profile. Convergence behavior of the proposed scheme with turbo equalization using various type of linear precoder/transformer, various interleaver size and error control coder of various constraint length is also investigated.展开更多

Convergence behavior of the proposed scheme with turbo equalization using various type of linear precoder/transformer, various interleaver size and error control coder of various constraint length is also investigated.

文摘The presented scheme named M-CAP (Maximum CAPacity) uses the CSI (Channel State Information) and its statistics to deduce an equivalent channel according to which the transmit power is allocated to the subchannels. And then modulation scheme is determined adaptively according to the power allocated to each subchannel. The advantage of the M-CAP scheme is that it combines power allocation and adaptive modulation while maintaining a large capacity. We demonstrate by computer simulations that the proposed M-CAP scheme can significantly improve system performance compared with the traditional schemes.
