There are countless accidents during past century. Once the spilling occurs, the vibration of the pipe would aggravate spill situation and even result in crack of the pipe. The consequence will be more severe when the fluid inside is compressible. To prevent the detriment of the spilling model is developed by assuming the leakages as orifices or nozzles and a 2-D vertical simply supported pipe is selected to analyze the phenomena of the oscillation. Combining these two models, the oscillation model for the pipe with leakage is set up and the spilling effect is analyzed by numerical method. The amplitude of the pipe oscillation and the normal stress enlarge as the internal velocity increased, while the shear stress changes very little.展开更多

By varying the mean ground clearance and motion frequency of the airfoil, it was possible to construct a frequency-height diagram of the various forces acting on the airfoil. The ground was found to enhance the downforce and reduce the drag with respect to freestream. The unsteady motion induces hysteresis in the forces’ behaviour. At moderate ground clearance, the hysteresis increases with frequency and the airfoil loses energy to the flow, resulting in a stabilizing motion. By analogy with a pitching motion, the airfoil stalls in close proximity to the ground. At low frequencies, the motion is unstable and could lead to stall flutter. A stall flutter analysis was undertaken. At higher frequencies, inviscid effects overcome the large separation and the motion becomes stable. Forced trailing edge vortex shedding appears at high frequencies. The shedding mechanism seems to be independent of ground proximity. However, the wake is altered at low heights as a result of an interaction between the vortices and the ground.展开更多

Two asymptotic solutions, valid for large and small values of dimensionless frequency γ respectively, are obtained in the closed form. In the range where the asymptotic solutions break down, numerical results to the governing equations are obtained by local similarity meth- od. Both numerical and analytical results show that pulsatory components of the flow and heat transfer depend only on the parameter γ, and the effect of longitudinal oscillation is to decrease the magnitude or' pulsatory Nusselt number with a phase lag between 0 and 90 deg. A correlation for pulsatory heat trans- fer rates is proposed in the whole range of γ within 3% accuracy compared with the numerical results.展开更多

Firstly, performance parameters of GAATFET are analyzed in terms of drain current, gate capacitances, transconductance, source-drain conductance at different radii and channel length. Furthermore, we also produce the geometrical analysis towards the optimized investigation of radio frequency parameters like cut-off frequency, maximum oscillation frequency and gain bandwidth product using a 3D technology computer-aided design ATLAS. Due to band-to-band tunneling based current mechanism unlike MOSFET, gate-bias dependence values as primary parameters of TFET differ. We also analyze that the maximum current occurs when radii of Si is around 8 nm due to high gate controllability over channel with reduced fringing effects and also there is no change in the current of TFET on varying its length from 100 to 40 nm.However current starts to increase when channel length is further reduced for 40 to 30 nm. Both of these trades-offs affect the RF performance of the device.展开更多
