Harnessing the Market Potential of the Bamboo Industry in Central Luzon, Philippines: An Analysis of the Internal and External Environment

The bamboo industry in Central Luzon holds significant promise for economic development and environmental sustainability. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing the bamboo industry in the region through SWOT and PESTLE analyses. Based on a focus group discussion involving key industry players, the study explores the industry’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors. Findings reveal the importance of comprehensive strategies that address political stability, economic growth, consumer awareness, technological advancement, legal compliance, and environmental sustainability. Recommendations include capacity-building for production and marketing, the establishment of bamboo treatment facilities, and advocacy for supportive policies. By addressing these factors, the bamboo industry in Central Luzon can realize its potential for socio-economic development and environmental stewardship. 展开更多

This shift resulted in significant reformation in the way of operation for domestic investment bank. In the future competition for IPO market among investment banks, the refined pricing ability will stand for the winner as prerequisite. As a kind of discussion on IPO pricing, this paper begins with how the reasonable IPO price is being worked out from three layers: the evaluation of stocks, the equilibrium of price and the formation of the final price. On this basis, we summarize and analyze the process of the reform of domestic IPO. Finally, we give some suggestions on this problem for further reform. Nowadays, African cities are subjected to upsets which result from the extraordinary growth of urban populations. The growth of the population of cities has induced some changes in the structure of the activity of those cities. Agriculture which was formerly confined to the countryside henceforth develops in the urban area and occupies a preponderant place as a strategy of survival, of insertion and of food supplying of the city-dwellers. It has become an activity integrated to the urban tissue through systems of occupying and exploitation of land in the urban area. Population growth (4.81%) between 2002 and 2013 is a critical poverty rate (65%) of the population of Parakou city, entailing a misery perceptible in all its social and economic dimensions. The market-gardening activity has integrated itself to the urban tissue. The objective of this study is to understand how urban agriculture through market-gardening can be a solution for rural farmers who have moved to Parakou city. In this study, documentary research, interviews and field observation are used for data collection. The main results to be signaled among others are: evolution and status of the market-gardening areas in Parakou, the reduction of food insecurity with the permanent availability in quantity and in quality of market-gardening products accessible to the population: the protection of the environment through the drainage of the urban area and the preservation of the diversity of vegetables;the increase of the income of the households of the farmers and the creation of employments. 展开更多

Objective To survey avian influenza A viruses(AIVs) in the environment and explore the reasons for the surge in human H7 N9 cases.Methods A total of 1,045 samples were collected from routine surveillance on poultry-related environments and 307 samples from human H7 N9 cases-exposed environments in Henan from 2016 to2017. The nucleic acids of influenza A(Flu A), H5, H7, and H9 subtypes were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction.Results A total of 27 H7 N9 cases were confirmed in Henan from 2016 to 2017, 24 had a history of live poultry exposure, and 15 had H7 N9 virus detected in the related live poultry markets(LPMs). About 96%(264/275) Flu A positive-environmental samples were from LPMs. H9 was the main AIV subtype(10.05%) from routine surveillance sites with only 1 H7-positive sample, whereas 21.17% samples were H7-positive in H7 N9 cases-exposed environments. Samples from H7 N9 cases-exposed LPMs(47.56%)had much higher AIVs positive rates than those from routine surveillance sites(12.34%). The H7+H9 combination of mixed infection was 78.18%(43/55) of H7-positive samples and 41.34%(43/104) of H9-positive samples.Conclusion The contamination status of AIVs in poultry-related environments is closely associated with the incidence of human infection caused by AIVs. Therefore, systematic surveillance of AIVs in LPMs in China is essential for the detection of novel reassortant viruses and their potential for interspecies transmission. 展开更多

在经济下行压力增大、外部环境不确定性有增无减的背景下,我国企业运营正面临着各种挑战,企业风险承担问题尤为突出。选取2011—2021年A股上市公司作为样本,以资管新规的出台作为准自然实验,检验资管新规对企业风险承担水平的影响,探究... 在经济下行压力增大、外部环境不确定性有增无减的背景下,我国企业运营正面临着各种挑战,企业风险承担问题尤为突出。选取2011—2021年A股上市公司作为样本,以资管新规的出台作为准自然实验,检验资管新规对企业风险承担水平的影响,探究企业在金融强监管下的风险承担行为。研究发现,资管新规提升了企业的风险承担水平。经济后果检验显示,资管新规主要增加了企业的被动风险承担,加大了企业的破产风险。经调节效应分析得到,企业通过提高信息披露透明度,政府通过改善营商环境、推进资本市场开放,可以缓解在资管新规出台背景下企业风险承担提高而带来的生产经营压力。 展开更多

构建一个合理且科学的考核体系,并引导地方政府更科学关注经济发展质量,是学术界亟须解决的重要问题之一。基于新开放宏观模型,通过构建一个包含地区竞争、市场分割及营商环境的动态随机一般均衡模型,从经济效率和经济福利两个维度来考... 构建一个合理且科学的考核体系,并引导地方政府更科学关注经济发展质量,是学术界亟须解决的重要问题之一。基于新开放宏观模型,通过构建一个包含地区竞争、市场分割及营商环境的动态随机一般均衡模型,从经济效率和经济福利两个维度来考察地方政府考核目标转变对经济发展质量的影响。研究发现:第一,传统考核机制会阻碍经济效率、经济福利水平的提升,地区竞争程度越大、市场分割程度越高、为优化营商环境努力程度越低,所引起的阻碍作用越明显;第二,在多元化考核机制下,地方政府短期目标导向能够缓解经济发展质量的负面影响,其中营商环境的优化有利于经济高质量的发展,但由于地区竞争与市场分割的存在,缓解作用并不能得到很好地释放。在经济高质量发展不断推进阶段,应尽快落实多元化考核机制,引导地方政府优化营商环境,并在一定程度上消除地区竞争与市场分割,以保证经济可持续发展。 展开更多
