By means of a logarithm law for the velocity profile, a corrected formula of bed resistance coefficient, which involves many factors such as gradient of still water depth, variation of surface elevation, flow direction, and so on, is derived from the 3D governing equations of tidal current by averaging over the whole water depth. Theoretical analysis and application have shown that the 2D plane tidal current numerical model would be more reasonable and could be applied to steep bottom topography when the corrected bed resistance coefficient is used, therefore the results of reproduction simulation and engineering calculation would be more scientific and reasonable. 展开更多

Definite-time zero-sequence over-current protection is presently used in systems whose neutral point is grounded by a low resistance(low-resistance grounding systems).These systems frequently malfunction owing to their high settings of the action value when a high-impedance grounding fault occurs.In this study,the relationship between the zero-sequence currents of each feeder and the neutral branch was analyzed.Then,a grounding protection method was proposed on the basis of the zero-sequence current ratio coefficient.It is defined as the ratio of the zero-sequence current of the feeder to that of the neutral branch.Nonetheless,both zero-sequence voltage and zero-sequence current are affected by the transition resistance,The influence of transition resistance can be eliminated by calculating this coefficient.Therefore,a method based on the zero-sequence current ratio coefficient was proposed considering the significant difference between the faulty feeder and healthy feeder.Furthermore,unbalanced current can be prevented by setting the starting current.PSCAD simulation results reveal that the proposed method shows high reliability and sensitivity when a high-resistance grounding fault occurs. 展开更多

Based on the review of present force coefficients estimation methods, a new method in the frequency domain, revised cross-spectrum estimation method, is presented in this paper. Some experiments on the wave-current force on inclined cylinders are also described and the wave current force coefficients are estimated by the revised cross-spectrum estimation method. From the results, it is found that the wave and current directions have some regular effect on the coefficients. According to the results, some empirical formulas are obtained for converting the wave-current force coefficients on inclined cylinders into a unified coefficient. Comparisons show that the unified coefficients are in good agreement with other results. 展开更多

By taking into consideration the effects of ocean surface wave-induced Stokes drift velocity Un, and current velocity Uc on the drag coefficient, the spatial distributions of drag coefficient and wind stress in 2004 are computed over the tropical and northern Pacific using an empirical drag coefficient parameterization formula based on wave steepness and wind speed. The global ocean current field is generated from the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM) and the wave data are generated from Wavewatch Ill (WW3). The spatial variability of the drag coefficient and wind stress is analyzed. Preliminary results indicate that the ocean surface Stokes drift velocity and current velocity exert an important influence on the wind stress. The results also show that consideration of the effects of the ocean surface Stokes drift velocity and current velocity on the wind stress can significantly improve the modeling of ocean circulation and air-sea interaction processes. 展开更多

A higher order boundary dement method (HOBEM) is implemented for wave-current action on structures. The freeterm coefficient and Cauchy principal value ( GPV) integrals are computed by direct methods. Numerical experiments are carried out to validate the computation of free-term coefficient and GPV integrals. The results show that the computation precision of free-term coefficient is very high for various bodies, even with edges and corners, and the convergence speed is fast for CPV integrals for different meshes. The comparison of the second order mean drift force due to wave-current action on a uniform cylinder is made with an analytic solution. It is found that good agreement exists between the present calculation and the analytic solutions. Finally, the numerical code is applied for computing wave-current action on Snorrc TLP. 展开更多

In order to resolve the problem of high rail potential in high-speed railway based on EN50122-1 and Pr EN50170 the distribution coefficient of longitudinal traction return current conductors is calculated through changing the interval of transverse connection. Based on field data and theoretical analysis, the parameters of longitudinal traction return current conductors are calculated. Therefore, the current dependence coefficient (CDC) can be determined for each one of the studied resistors. Based on this fact, the theoretical relation between the distribution of solute at solid-liquid interface and current density was established, and the effect of current on the distribution coefficient of solute through effecting the rate of crystal growth, the solid-liquid interface energy and the radius of curvature at the dendritic tip was discussed. The results show that as the current density increases, the distribution coefficient of solute tends to rise in a whole, and when the former is larger than about 400 A/cm 2, the latter varies significantly. 展开更多

Method of calculating none over-loadedprobability of motor by integration by successive reductions is put forward and then relationbetween power spare coefficient and none over-loaded reliability of electric motor is established.Influences of all factors on pump shaft power being considered completely; power spare coefficientsof motor are calculated in three kinds of heads (changing and unchanging), two kinds of dirty-outconditions. Electrical motor power spare coefficients should be chosen as 1.20 approx 1.44, 1.11approx 1.19, 1.09 approx.14 respectively when pump heads are 4, 7, 9.5 m. Current--voltage measurements obtained from lead zirconate titanate/nickel bilayered hollow cylindrical magnetoelectric composite showed that a sinusoidal current applied to the copper coil wrapped around the hollow cylinder circumference induces voltage across the lead zirconate titanate layer thickness. The current--voltage coefficient and the maximum induced voltage in lead zirconate titanate at 1~kHz and resonance (60.1~kHz) frequencies increased linearly with the number of the coil turns and the applied current. The resonance frequency corresponds to the electromechanical resonance frequency. The current--voltage coefficient can be significantly improved by optimizing the magnetoelectric structure geometry and/or increasing the number of coil turns. Hollow cylindrical lead zirconate titanate/nickel structures can be potentially used as current sensors. 展开更多

Utilization of tidal current is becoming a focus of marine energy research and development field. In this paper, a new type of tidal current power generating device which was called flexible blade turbine was put forward. A scale model testing was carried out, and results show that the models performed as expected with good hydrodynamic characteristics. Based on analysis of the results, a scale model turbine with a rated power of 5 kW was constructed, which was an optimal scheme of the flexible blade turbine having higher coefficient of power and power generation capacity. Sea trials were carried out in the Zhaitang Island Channel to evaluate the performance of the turbine. Results show that the turbine performed well, generating the power predicted. 展开更多

Large eddy simulation is performed to study three-dimensional wave-current interaction with a square cylinder at different Reynolds numbers, ranging from 1,000 to 600,000. The Keulegan-Carpenter number is relevantly a constant of 0.6 for all cases. The Strouhal number, the mean and the RMS values of the effective drag coefficient in the streamwise and transverse directions are computed for various Reynolds numbers, and the velocity of a rep- resentative point in the turbulent zone is simulated to find the turbulent feature. It is found that the wave-current interaction should be considered as three-dimensional flow when the Reynolds number is high; under wave-current effect, there exists a critical Reynolds number, and when the Reynolds number is smaller than the critical one, current effect on wave can be nearly neglected; conversely, with the Reynolds number increasing, wave-currentstructure interaction is sensitive to the Reynolds number. 展开更多

Based on the theory of wave- current interaction and physical model test, the hydrodynamic characteristics of the submarine composite pipeline in wave-current coexisting field (both regular and irregular waves) are investigated. The so-called 'modified diameter method' is used for analyzing the in-fine hydrodynamic coefficients of the composite pipeline, which are well related to KC number. The comparison of test data for regular and irregular waves shows that in the region of 90 > KC> 20, the results in these two cases can be unified. The effect of water depth is analyzed in details. The relationships between CD, CM and KC , which are based on the results of present research, may be used as a reference in engineering design. 展开更多

According to the practical problems in eddy current sorting,the method and technology of eddy current hardness sorting based on LeastSquaresSupportVectorMachine(LS-SVM)are proposed based on the Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA in this paper.The calculated sorting-hyperplane and designed sorting decision-making machine were used to sort different hardness of the vavles.The experimental results of the vavle sorting show that the sorting success rate can reach 100%under conditions that the number of test vavles is one quarter of the training vavles.The method and technology based on LS-SVM can solve the problems that the impedance feature value is nonlinear with the hardness value and variable sorting interval.It also proved that the LS-SVM algorithm has strong practical value in online eddy current sorting. 展开更多
